Contrary to what you may believe about your own intellect, your opinion as someone who is not a credentialed medical professional is not of equal value to the information presented by the CDC, NIH and various independent virologists and immunologists - none of whom make the “high false positive rate” but rather state the opposite.
You also recommended taking three tests for redundancy which is directly counter to medical advice to test five days after exposure, and to test a second time two - three days later only if experiencing symptoms.
So Yes, you are spreading misinformation once again.

Your usual politicization of the topic notwithstanding, my comments weren’t aimed at your more or less benign statements QB, but rather IC’s direct mischaracterization of the nature of PCR tests and the direct advice to defy recommended testing best practices.

Ok, no more talk about COVID testing, statistics, and truthfulness in reporting. My thread, my rules.
EDIT: If you or someone you know has been impacted by the virus, feel free to mention it. The last two years have been incredibly difficult for many of us. If I want to dig through the ditches and look up facts I know how to do so, and I'm assuming everyone else can do the same.
Thanks.

Removed the posts that delved into pandemic data/specifics. This is not the website for this information. I understand talking about plans is going to have some degree of Covid content, as plans involve tests and contingencies. Please do not post stats/news/weblinks, as that goes beyond gamer chat. Thanks!

Tonya, could you remove my two posts on this page, they were both replies to the removed posts

Please don't misrepresent my posts, especially when you are leaving alone the messages that actually do fit the description you gave.
Also, I agree with dirtypool, his posts are now confusing without the appropriate context and while the deleted posts were responses to on topic posts, his are purely responses to now non-existent posts and don't fit the current state of the thread.

That's a terrible song!
Anyway, that sucks Cal. As you know, my wife is getting over it. Get lots of rest. I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks! I'm glad she's on the mend. Mine has felt really the same as a typical chest cold, at least so far. So hopefully it's the milder Omicron variety.

Towards the end of his life, one of my Dad's major laments was that he outlived most of his contemporaries. I now begin to see where he was coming from.

My ex-wife's grandmother, who I dearly loved, was quite a character. But the very first thing she'd read in the daily paper was the obituary column. She called it "keeping score". She really wasn't a callous person but just thought it was funny to say it like that.

No game again at Sweet Home Calabama. Today is the fifteenth day of my COVID journey. Wednesday was the first day I did not have a fever, but it came back the next day. It's only been above 100.5 once or twice, but a fever makes things even more contagious. My symptoms have not even been close to life-threatening (for which I am thankful!) but just the fact they won't go away is starting to wear on my psyche, I think.
What are the rest of us doing this weekend?

DungeonmasterCal |

No game again, but the good news is I think I'm finally at the tail end of my COVID journey. Hopefully next weekend we'll be able to get together. We're also having a bit of bad weather here in the central Arkansas area with sleet and freezing rain making travel hazardous.
How about everyone else? What's shakin'?

Running the penultimate scenario before the party is finally ready for Eyes. This will be a test run with just the core four players who will be participating. Depending on how well they gel without the fifth and sixth character, we'll see how they feel about their performance. I don't want to ruin their Seeker arc with too many players, but I also don't want to send a party that can't hang into that meatgrinder.

Glad you're feeling better-ish, Cal.
Hi Orthos! Long see, no time!
TOZ. *dignified nod*
Nothing planned for this weekend, but everyone in Texas is worried about freezing temperatures tonight and tomorrow night, because we're all still traumatized from last year's winter power grid failure. We'll see what happens!
Also, apparently my wife promised our daughter that we can buy a pet fish.
The past couple weeks have been exhausting with my wife getting Covid, trouble with my kids' school, my mom having upcoming surgery, and a friend having a really tough time but us not having any real way to help them out. I really fell behind on my PbPs and a couple other hobbies that involve other people, and I just felt like I caught up a couple days ago. And now that I'm all caught up, most of the other people seem not have time, either.

ooooh. What kinna fish? I miss having an aquarium.
I know lots of people in Texas who are really on edge after last year's power grid debacle. I hope everything stays online for you guys!

That's the nice thing about living in my car. No worries about power outages! Just need to keep stocked up on handwarmers so I don't freeze to death. I've saved up enough to finally get a new fan for the car so I can get the heater working again, but I need to find one now. Won't help me with this cold snap though.
Still, at least I'm in texas. This cold snap is pathetic compared to living up north.

No idea. Recommendations for first-time fish owners welcome!

Thanks. I'm sure we'll all be fine, as it's only getting a little bit below freezing, and I'm sure we'll all be fine. I guess the point is that last year's power grid failure is still felt.

We ended up getting an 8.5 gallon aquarium and 2 red platies, 2 yellow platies, and 3 glowlight tetra. My kids have named them by group: ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.

I actually may be. This is the only weekend in February one of my three players is available, as with a group this small one person missing more or less makes the group unplayable. Every other weekend this month she's stuck at Girl Scouts cookie stands with the kiddo during play time.
Aaaaaand she might be getting sick. Would be our luck.
In NWN news instead of PnP, playerside in an event tonight then DMing in an event tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon. Need to schedule a handful more as well this weekend, for dates further out.

Howdy, howdy, howdy!
Who's a-gaming this weekend? My COVID test came back "Inconclusive" so me, always the one to err on the side of caution, put our game off. Again.
How about everyone else?
I've got my normal Sunday night game, with any luck, where we've embarked on a Shadowrun campaign. Not my favourite system or setting, but I'm enjoying the campaign a very great deal nonetheless.

Game did not happen, we all agreed sick player needed to rest up so she'd be well enough to go back to work on Monday. These past few months have been hard on her.
NWN sessions went well. In the Friday event my paladin and the rest of her group investigated a mage tower in the center of this secluded, entrapped village we're stuck in that's the playground of a Hex Dragon. Found out the tower is being operated by one of his half-dragon children, a capable mage in her own right, and convinced her that she'd be free to leave the village and live her own life if she helps us slay her father. Next event should be dragon-slaying time.
Tonight's event I was DM for, players are separated into three different parties simultaneously infiltrating Haruka in search of Runelord Krune. This group entered via the necropolis in the lower part of the city and fought through the undead, golems, and bound elementals and devils there, made a deal with a friendly spirit of a dwarven slave, and successfully reached the city proper. That story will be continued in future events.
Tomorrow's event will have an elf and his allies returning to the Dreamlands to pay back a debt to the Mad Poet. So that should be fun.
