Looking to gauge interest for an idea I had, that is what it would be like playing through Gallows of Madness with a party comprised only of Third-Party (Pathfinder Compatible) classes such as the Swordmaster, Malefactor, or Runesmith, to name a very small few.
Since Gallows can be played in campaign mode, chronicles for Pathfinder Society credit would be given out at the end for completing the arc.
Does anyone have old classes rotting away in the deepest recesses of your downloads, something you've always wanted to try?
Is it any non-Paizo class? Because I've kinda wanted to take the Dragon Rider class from Rogue Genius out for a spin a few times. And never had the chance to try this module.
I don't have the book, but ever since seeing it on the SRD, always thought it'd be fun to try!
Third party classes? Hmmmm, I'm sure there is something we could dig up.
What are your feelings on 'third party' races as well?
@CaptainFord: Yes, any non-Paizo. I think, since his analysis somewhat mirrors my own, as a rule of thumb if the product got 3-4 stars or more from Endzeitgeist, or his seal of approval, it's probably a safe bet. Dragon Rider would be fine.
@Robert Henry: I don't have a problem with third party races provided they meet the criteria above (product has 3-4 stars or more).
Hmmmm.... Dot. I can think of a few potential ideas I could run with. I'm not familiar with the module, though. What level is it?
Spheres Spheres Spheres Spheres!
Umm.. sorry, got a but overwhelmed there.
Yes, I'd be keen.
Ironically, I've always wanted to try the Dragonrider as well, though Direlock from Forest Guardian Press seems like it would be fun as well. Interested!
That sounds interesting. Would definitely like to look into a Soulknife or Aegis. Maybe with one of the 3rd Party Psionic races, like Half-Giant or Xeph.
I'd like to throw my hat into this as well.
Note that 3rd party classes aren't eligible for PFS credit though...
I own the content for the Malefactor, which hasn't been put to use yet, as well as the Rogue Genius Games Hellion...
Yes, count me interested. There are a lot of 3PP things worth trying. I will have a look at that Endzeitgeist you're talking about to check what is allowed (though I have to say I'm very keen on SoP and SoM).
@djpika: Actually some modules allow you to play in Campaign Mode, meaning GM's and players aren't bound by PFS rules when playing them. The only stipulation is, you have to finish the entire module first. Once finished, credit is applied to your PFS character as if you played a pregenerated character.
