No spoilerz please I probably can't see it til 2019.......but if I hated Force Awakens (somewhat jokingly referred to as "A New New Hope" only somewhat) will I hate this too? I liked Rogue One so it's not the "female Luke Skywalker" thing at all man.

Hard to say. I saw it and have very nixed feelings. I liked it...but....

Callbacks to Empire & Return, it mainly looks like the director looked at all the speculations on-line and elsewhere and said "I'm not doing ANY of that".

Depends why you hated Force Awakens. If it was because it was too much like Star Wars, then Last Jedi will be better in that regard. It's very different than Force Awakens and Rogue One.

Force Awakens also got better overall reviews than Last Jedi. Sooo good luck?

TLJ reminded me a lot of Rouge one. More so than a saga film, so I think you might actually enjoy it.

I didn't like Force Awakens for the same reason you said. While we have some Empire and RotJ beats, it's not a rehash by any means. It's totally more like a combo between Empire and the Prequel trilogy, in my opinion, and not the same flavor as TFA.
