No problem. Moved my PbP along, made a few posts. Most of the time, I played Civilization II. See? I'm not addicted. Eye twitch Not at all. Eye twitch even more severe
Civ II, hm? That's been a while... I did like messing around with Test of Time, they haven't really done anything like that again...
Anyway, site seems to be working well for me this morning!

Were you coming in via an RSS or Atom feed, per chance?I cannot rule out that the bug triggered when I came in via RSS feed and just did not notice.
When I noticed the bug I went straight to paizo.com (I think, my history might have suggested some other side - though probably not one of the RSS links). But again, it IS possible that I just did not notice my inability to login before that.I just tried going to the site via RSS feed. This time at least this did not result in the brokin login links.
I first noticed the bug on my PC with Windows 8.1 and I think that my laptop with Archlinux encountered the same problem because the cookies get synced with the Firefox sync. I did not make a backup of the cookie.
Update on the Cookie front:
The cookies were still there on my PC (I only deleted the ones on the laptop), so I checked them.I have two cookies: "Store" and "wosid". The content of "wosid" was "xml". I deleted it (leaving "Store" untouched) and it generated a new cookie.
The content seems to be something more sensible now (22 alphanumeric characters) and it immediatly fixed the issue.

The "new posts" indicators in the left bar and the main body can show different counts.
One showed 3 new posts for a given thread, and the other showed 5. Both links took me to the fifth-from-end post. Second-from-end had happened 7 minutes before this, too, so it's not like I happened to refresh at exactly the right time for the check-for-new functions to legitimately get different counts.

I did have to log back in today, but it may be that the fix for that particular issue came in after I shut down yesterday. I can check again tomorrow now that I know this was not a me thing or a Firefox thing, v56.X has had some issues for me, thought this might be one of them.
I did have to log in again today. Yesterday I didn't make here, but I did have a browser cache clearing to deal with some work issues. So maybe that one is still buried out there somewhere?

I do have a new problem: I need to change my billing information, and the My Account page is having issues. I can make it all the way through the My Account page to the Manage Billing Options page, and there it goes wonky. Clicking on "Add Payment Method" results in half the top of the page going blank with what I suppose is an unseen text box. I can click and drag, highlighting some text in the blank area, and if I hover over where I know where text boxes or buttons are, some things will then appear.
Old Problem: still getting signed out, and when I sign in, it brings me to a blank page and tells me "Your search returned no results". I can just click on my user name to take me back to my main area, but its still a bad redirect.

I find myself frequently logged out when I check out the forums, but today I ran into something new - the forums board highlighted a thread I was following with "1 new post" posted by... Myself.
"Last post: 1 minute ago by Kudaku (1 new) ×"
Not sure if that's something new or if I just haven't run into it yet, but I figured I'd pass it along.

No logout issues since the fix a couple days ago.
I've occasionally seen the 1 new post by myself thing in the past, but it's usually been a timing thing - refreshed one tab before the one I'd posted in finished reloading. It doesn't persist if I refresh again - unless possibly the other tab hung or something. Haven't really noticed it especially often lately.

An issue I've been having is with 'listing' posts. When I go to list the first post in a thread, it sort of grays out the post's words, the post disappears temporarily, then reappears a few moments later. The post never actually gets added to my wishlist or gives me the option to add it. The problem only seems to be with the first post in the thread, as I'm able to list later posts.

This is basically where I am. Well, that, and, as mentioned before, the favorite button sometimes just... disappearing after I use it.
That last one still might be a me-exclusive thing, though... >.>

This problem started less than 1 hour ago. Posts made before this problem started (some time between 1/2 and 3/4 of an hour ago) are visible just fine. Even tried switching browsers (Firefox to Safari), but it didn't help.
Also, if I go to my profile and thence to my posts, the posts I made after this problem started are not visible there either.

And just in case it's not clear: thank you all so very much! You guys ROCK~!
You know, I have to second this as well. I have spoken highly of Paizo's customer service and the way yall have handled a few issues that I have had in the past.
As for this situation, this website has to be a massive headache with everything that yall have going on here, as well as the heavy and continuous traffic that it sees. Despite the many headed issues that come up, the team is not only constantly working to slay the gremlins in the system, but the management team is not shy about popping into the threads and saying "this is the problem, and this is what we are doing to work on it". For this, I thank you. All too often, large companies tend to either quietly work in the background, or some random talking head might pop up and say a few "customary and expected" words. Instead, Paizo management is forthright and communicative to their clients and timely with reassurances and explanations.
To me at least, this means quite a bit.. to know that yall take enough pride and ownership to take time out of your busy schedules to pop in and reassure the often snarling masses. THANK YOU!!!!! TO THE MANAGEMENT AND THE IT TEAMS that work so hard to keep bringing us this game that we all love so much.

The speed can still sometimes get VERY VERY slow.
I was updating a character page (http://paizo.com/people/VasilySokolov#newPost) and things were going well.
I was saving constantly. Then, suddenly, saving a page started taking a LONG time. As in at least a couple of minutes. Once, it timed out while it was saving the page (fortunately I'd saved my changes :-))

Just had a similar timeout while trying to edit a post. The message was

The application backtracking limit of 30 has been exceeded.

I just received that same message about three minutes ago. It was while trying to edit a post.

I haven't seen that recently, but it's occasionally popped up for me over the past couple of years. (It's part of why I try to remember to copy long posts before submitting them--in case that happens, and I lose the post. I understand there's a FireFox app for that; just haven't looked for it.)

Atom feeds seem to have stopped working on our around November 2. I am way way behind in a play by post as a result. Is someone aware of the problem?
I can second this.
Atom feeds stopped working some time around the 2nd and 3rd.If trying to set the feed anew, the site redirects to a blank page with "The requested application was not found on this server."
I'd appreciate a little bug-squashing on this front if you have some time at your hands. I love to stay on top of my campaigns via different atom-reader notifiers on my PCs and phones.
Thanks for your collective effort.

Ran into a new weird problem: Tried to make a post in a different thread, and Submit Post keeps behaving like Preview, even if I exit the page and come back. (Sort of had this 1 or 2 times before a long time ago, but exiting the page and coming back fixed it back then -- not any more.)
I get that at times also. When that happens, I copy the text of my post, then post a period. If that works, and it always does so for me, hit Edit and replace the period with the text of your post.

Seeing similar issues with previous posters:
- Editing a profile will often fail and throw up the "application backtracking limit of 30 has been exceeded" error.
- When attempting to make a new post (on mobile), the Preview, Cancel, Submit Post buttons disappear, as well as the Post As selection. I've had to go through some pretty elaborate gymnastics to be able to actually post, using the "Add new post" link and fiddling with copy/paste, or submitting a very short post and editing it later with the actual text.

I can attest to this one, and let me assure you that I had done no "backtracking" when I got this error.
This was as recently as Saturday.

RSS feeds suddenly started to work on my side again during the last ... 8h or so.
Hell of a quick work there guys, thank you.
Some open issues I can second:
- after logging in, one get redirected to paizo/people/ -> an empty page with search-results not found error displayed
-log-out time still seems a bit non-deterministic here. The last days my phone stayed logged-in, tonight it suddenly logged off again. Maybe the timer just run out? Do you have any informations for us how long a device should normally logged in so we can check that?

I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the logout issue when logging in through different sessions.
I had been staying logged in recently and like everyone assumed the problem is behind us. However, I have noticed that if I move from my work computer to my mobile phone browser to my home computer each location seems to be logged out upon reloading the Paizo site. As far as I can tell, if I do not log into a different browser, the current login seems to remain logged in as expected from previous behavior.
Will the server only allow one stored login going forward?
