poison doses in a needle rifle / pistol

General Discussion

ok so yes poison is expensive and powerfull. but the question is how many needles can be shot out of a needle rifle with a clip of 12 darts before it needs to be reloaded.

if its 1 dart/dose then you are having to spend large amounts of money on poison and needing to reload the rifle with poison after each shot.

or is it 1 dose will be usable on 1 full clip

I'm pretty sure the cost is per shot, and thank goodness because otherwise it would be so freaking common. Here's the text from the poison section of the book, the bold is mine

"Poisons are normally weaponized by loading a single dose into a weapon with the injection special property, such as an injection glove or needler pistol. It’s also possible to add a dose of poison to a melee weapon that deals piercing or slashing damage"

So I think that the norm is to pay by the hit possible which would be by the shot. This would get really expensive if you plan on doing this for every Mook out there, but if you're just using it on the big guys it shouldn't be that bad.

I don't think you can turn 1 dose into 12 just by loading it into a gun, so logically it would be 1 dose per dart. That said, the book doesn't actually say.

With the same logic you could buy a single MK1 Healing Serum, load it in the gun and heal 12 times for d8 - dmg
1 dose = 1 shot is the only thing that really makes sense here

One dose of poison is the amount of poison you need to poison someone. 1/12th of a dose is not enough.

1 dose per dart. Thankfully, you can prepare the darts ahead of time before loading them in the gun (or cartridge); think of modern-day tranquilizer guns as an analog.

Can you use an acid dart gun as a needler by replacing the acid with poison?

Also needlers are fun when you think of it. Launch poisons, medicines, drugs, vials of germs, potions, etc.

Picture hitting someone in battle with serum of appearance change (which unlike serum of sex shift says nothing about the victim needing to be willing). Nothing will stun an opponent more than them suddenly getting their ideal body mid combat. Talk about a surprise round. :)

techincally no. the acid addition mechanism is automated.. so you'd effectively be making a new gun if you tried to turn it off. and i do't think they're the same kind of liquid or application style anyway.. a container and pump made for acid, would likely gum up if trying to work something else. or it might actually nutralize the poison because of the coating for acid destuction prevent or something.

But mostly.. mechanically speaking there isn't a stipulation for allowing that in the acid dart gun write up so I guess not.

I still really wish there was an acid dart gun small arms.
