After I loaded in the zip, I had to close and restart PCGen to get the Starfinder source to show up.
Things I noticed:
The +4 initiative for a blitz soldier isn't adding in.
The HP/SP added for each level is a little strange, it always says 1 even when you are clearly getting the proper amounts.
Weight and encumbrance aren't working on Starfinder rules, I hope this is planned to be fixed.
It would be nice to have the armor upgrades given their own section in the inventory rather than only available for customizing the item, because RAW you are able to take these upgrades off armor and don't always have be using them.
I am really looking forward to this tool. Thanks!

When trying to create a PC, I'm a little confuzzled about tracking Ability Score points. The points start at 0 instead of 10. Probably a minor thing, but it is somewhat less intuitive when it comes to how many points you have to spend.
It's an Alpha, of course, so working out kinks is the point of the exercise.

Thanks for all the great work!
One minor bug
For Operatives - Operative's Edge
- Adds correctly to Initiative
- Is not adding to skill checks. My expectation is it should add to all skills (Class or not class) EXCEPT for those with Skill Focus (Insight bonus) and Skill Synergy (Insight bonus)
- I am not 100% on how it exactly should apply, so you probably want to double check the rules

Still not seeing the operative edge insight bonus to skills being added. Is there a toggle or a box I need to check to get this?
Version 1.06 is out - which fixes that issue:

Ok, then the problem is with my understanding.
For example, If I have an Operative with a Dex:16 and one skill rank in acrobatics, what should my skill modifier be?
I thought: +1 (rank) +3 (dex) +3 (class skill) +1 (operative edge) = +8
PcGen V1.06 gives me a skill modifier of +7
What do i need to have set for the operative edge to appear?
- I have operative selected as class
- I have hacker set as operative speicialization
- I have Operative's Edge listed under my Operative Class feature

You are right, you should be getting a +8 bonus. I've just tried this myself and I am getting the +8. See screenshot. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByA87Lxq4qA_RnFGVVVTa29XVGM/view?usp=shari ng

This is kind of a troubleshooting issue for the program as a whole, but I'm seeing the text in a REALLY tiny size. Is there an easy way to fix that?
You have a 4k monitor I bet. :)
Right-click on the "pcgen" app, selecting "Properties," then the "Compatibility" tab. Then I checked "Override high DPI scaling behavior..." and selected "System" in the drop-down menu

It could be that an armor penalty is being applied.
Same with or without second skin armor worn.
I have tried re-installing program and just using version 1.06 to no avail, I still get +7 not +8.
Aside from the pcgen folder itself, are there others folders I need to delete in order to get a clean install? Data folders hidden somewhere?
Since it is working for others, I must assume that the problem is on my end somewhere and I am trying to figure out where.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I had built my lashunta mystic in an older version (either 1.01 or 1.02), and everything looked correct. When I upgraded the data to 1.06, it required me to remove the connection, and is not letting me put a new one in. It looks like in fixing a problem somewhere else, this new problem was created.
Unfortunately, this thread is the only reasonable way for me to provide this information, because I refuse as a matter of principle to use Facebook or Yahoo groups, and I don't like to sign up for accounts all over the internet.
Also, thank you to everyone who worked to make this available so promptly.

It's also expected that older characters will be breaking all over the place as the data changes during the alpha phase. :)
Does it work with making the character from scratch?

I download the files, but when I tried to unzip the starfinder data, I don't know WHERE to put it.
Please advise.
Download the above zip file and follow the directions below
On the Select Sources window, follow the steps below:
1. Click on the Advanced Tab.
2. Click on the “Install Data” button on the bottom of the screen
3. Navigate to downloaded zip file, and import files (select Okay to overwrite any files)
4. Restart PCGen
5. Click on the down arrow on the ‘Game’ drop down menu and select Starfinder
6. Click the ‘Add Selected’ button
7. Click the ‘Load’ button
8. Make characters!

Even a built from scratch in the newest version mystic does not allow choosing a connection. I've selected a deity and alignment, and the character sheet talks about a connection, but I can't choose a connection and don't get a connection spell. The was working properly in a previous version.
