This last Monday when the Moon eclipsed the Sun we released the first episodes of our new Starfinder Roleplaying Game Actual Play Podcast "COSMIC CRIT". We wanted to come back to the Paizo boards and let you know a little bit about the podcast, the game and why we love Starfinder so much.
- First off, you can find our first gameplay episode entitled "Space Hooligans" here on our website
- Secondly, if you want to subscribe on iTunes you can listen to episodes 000, 001 and 002 all right now.
We fell in love with the idea of converting our Monday night game group to Starfinder, and recording our experiences with the game, back in May. We've been hard at work reading all the setting tidbits, crafting characters, and writing back stories since then.
While we are playing the Dead Suns adventure path, our game is going to have a lot of character story mixed in alongside side-quests and extra elements. Even if you have played or watched Dead Suns already, there'll be something cool and new to check out in Cosmic Crit.
We will be releasing a new episode every Monday, and we are going to keep the show clean. While we are cursing on the podcast, it will be along the lines of "Frak" or "Goblin Spit". While a little violent, the show should be something that we think anyone can take a listen to.
If you want to follow us online you can take a look at our website, our facebook page, twitter or instagram. We love feedback and chat online all the time.

Loved the first few episodes, especially the whole method of slowly setting up the characters in the HUD bar fight, totally stealing that!
Thanks, its really just the classic "Your characters meet in a bar/tavern/inn" but feel free to rip and roar. I wanted to make a Bar on Absalom where you could meet people from the station, the Starfinder Iconics, or anyone else, a real Cantina vibe.
Episode 3 will be out Monday. Thanks for listening.

Hi ho! This is Tyler/Edrass from Cosmic Crit. Thanks to everyone who has already checked out the podcast or is going to check it out.
It has been a blast putting out this content for people. I wish we could record everyday though. It is really hard to wait a whole week to play Starfinder.
If anyone has any questions of my character or the podcast in general please throw them out there. I will answer everything!!
Keep rolling 20s y'all.

"Let's have a Fist FIGHT!!!" Love the show guys, highly entertaining Thanks for making my Los Angeles commute bearable. Can't wait to throw down in my own Starfinder game.
I am glad we can be there to help with the commute. Getting to finally start our Starfinder game was amazing because I had been jonesing for it for so long. Tweet or email us when you have epic Starfinder moments once you get your own game going. The 2nd best thing to playing Starfinder is hearing other people's great stories.

A new episode of the podcast is out today, Episode 3: Gobstopped.
We go off the AP beaten trail a little more in this episode, and meet some NPCs that I (the GM) are very excited to see in reoccurring spots on the podcast.

To add a little here, at the end of Episode 3 we are starting a new small segment called, "Crit Bits." Don't forget to stay tuned after the normal ending to listen in.
In these segments you'll learn more about our characters, their backgrounds, and maybe even see some consequences to our character's ridiculous decisions.
Keep rolling 20s ya'll

As I said earlier I loved the whole character intro session, a nice way to info dump the Absalom station setting without being too "infodumpy".
As I'm starting my campaign this way too next week, I made a little Syrinscape campaign to have music at my finger tips for the various scenes.

I even blended the cyberpunk disco soundset with the tavern brawl soundset to create mood for the fight in the hud bar.

Started subscribing today, after listening to all the episodes yesterday (slow sunday). And what do you know, a new episode! Thank's for the great content :)
Glad you're enjoying it. We are having a blast playing and are excited for the next few sessions.
Episode 4: 'The Kreel Deal' went up this morning. Its a quick episode but we have a report of Paizo activities from DragonCon from a few of our players who went.
And this episode we announced our "Create an NPC Challenge". If you make up an NPC and we use them on the podcast we will gift you a Starfinder CRB or Dead Suns AP PDF. Also, your character is immortalized on the show forever.
Check out the show now if you haven't and let us know what you think.

Enjoy the podcast so far! However my biggest complaint is audio quality. Please invest in some decent mics! It'll boost the professionalism 1000‰.let me know if you need any recommendations, I did a podcast for nearly 5 years, have like 10 different recording mics,
Hi Astromanaught,
We're a little unclear who you're speaking about specifically, but if you can provide detail we'd love that feedback. We are using currently a mix of Blue Yetis, Snowballs and Directional mics. That being said we still get some audio artifacts every once and a while. Thanks!

Space Howdy Everyone!
So Cosmic Crit Episode 005 is now available!
This was an insanely fun episode to record. Of course all of our episodes are fun to record but I especially enjoyed this one. I think all of us on Cosmic Crit are getting more and more comfortable with the setting and our first ever space characters.
All of you listening in are the best and thanks again for adding to fun of creating this podcast.
Keep rolling 20s out there ya'll. Edrass out.

I really like your podcast. Kudos!
But episode 4 was a bit too slow perhaps... too much paperwork and knowledge checks.I think perhaps you might have some very type A personalities on the show that want everything explained in great perfection... but at some point you just have to push them onwards.
But anyway, that's a minor quibble, I think everyone should check out this podcast.

Edrass Vaaranas |

Thanks for the Kudos!
I agree that sometimes we as a crew tend to overthink things and try to learn more information using rolls then just by role-playing or taking action. Edrass is a lizard of action!
Feedback like this is awesome and it is what helps create the community and improve the podcast. Thanks again and being Mustachioed!

i comment to save this post for easy access i love this kind of stuff
Thanks Kagerage and Mustachioed,
If you like it tells us what you think, and if you dislike it tell us what we can change in the future.
Mustachioed I agree some of the early episodes got a little bogged down, but as a GM my main philosophy is if the players are having a good time, hopefully that will translates to people listening in on the game.
There will be enough battle to sate everyone's appetite in upcoming episodes. Stay tuned and thanks for listening.

We're through Episode 8 of the Podcast, and it's been a lot of fun getting feedback from everyone. Everyone here on the Paizo boards who has jumped in and joined the Cosmic Crit Crew, we thank you so much for putting us over 20,000 downloads in less than two months, that blew our minds.
We have some great announcements to get to in October, including our next Fan submitted challenge and information on our Extra Life fundraiser for Paizo's team.
Until then here is a list of our episodes to far:
#1 Space Hooligans
#2 Opening Volley
#3 Gobstopped
#4 The Kreel Deal
#5 The Hardscrabble Connection
#6 Dancing Kings
#7 Battle Service
#8 Cosmo Crit
If you want to catch up now is the time to do it. We are committed to getting a new episode out every Monday to make the first commute to work in the week less painful. And we will have a Bonus episode coming out November 4th, with details in Episode 8 on how you can help to make it awesome. Thanks and have a great weekend
