Being a GM for Way of the Wicked should be/is bucket loads of fun. It's a nice change of pace from typical Pathfinder GM fare to run the good guys instead of the bad guys.
Every GM runs antagonists. It's fun to mix things up and run the protagonists once in a while.
Wonder if there's a 3rd party that would be interested in the project?

I have published 2 parts of kingslayer, my b side kingmaker
I suppose that " you and your squad of hobgoblins exit a tower into a filthy human town. What do you do?" Would be an ok start to an Ironfang Liberation, or whatever spin evil puts on it!
I would worry that being ultra LE the hobgoblin pcs would lose an awful lot of player freedom?
It is an interesting thought though

Ironfang Invasion has more fronts than what the protagonists (PCs) go through during the "A side" campaign. Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengeance are flip sides as it were, officially considered to take place more-or-less simultaneously.
My thinking for a "B side" Ironfang Invasion is that the PCs would be one of a variety of monster-type humanoids that operate as a special forces type squad given objectives to achieve but otherwise left to their own devices on how to attain them.
In this specific case, the "B side" could start 2 years prior in 4715 with a certain infamous massacre. To tie it in the "B side AP" would have the monster characters instigating all kinds of problems for the good guys to deal with in the "A side".
The hard part of course is how to structure it so that they don't overshadow the "A side" antagonists. A simple solution might be using Slow XP Progression instead of the default Medium progression.
In trade the antagonists for the B-side get to do fun stuff like play gnolls, bugbears and other fun low-HD critters. They'd start off using the monsters with class level guidelines (base stat array of monster +4/+4/+2/+2/+0/-2 however arranged for X class) before being unleashed on the unsuspecting human/demi-human fodder.

Ram Gate massacre, attack of Phaendar, hunting fugitives in the forest, somewhere in there might be taking the rangers' forts, assault on Longshadow, a variant of Prisoners of the Blight, ???

Should be easy enough to game up from the wealth of material presented throughout the adventure path. It just won't have an ounce of the story or dramatic tension of being on the run from the Ironfang Legion.
They'd have the dramatic tension of being monsters in enemy-dominated lands that are likely to be dodging White Hats. Bunches of White Hats attempting to smite them mightily and burn them to cinders.

Somehow with a legion supporting you, that's not quite the same, but I get your drift.
If you're out in the rear end of White Hat land doing spec ops stuff, you don't have a legion at your beck and call. You're making things easier for the legion to take down. ;)
Edit: I get your point though. "B side" would not have to same sources of story et al by definition if the "B side" is that of the monsters/antagonists for the "A side".

Maybe you missed a few things, but that support isn't constent for every members of the IL and not always guaranteed either, you have deserters, member trapped withing enemies lines and/or captured, things gone wrong (like book five), etc.

He never said anything about Hell's Vengeance that I'm aware of. :-)
You are being too lateral... or is it litoral? Meh, who cares?

OTOH, perhaps the PCs are monsters fighting monsters.
"Sometimes you fight fire with fire. In this case, better the monsters we know than the monsters we don't." ;)

^This one. Had a Medusa Cleric (Medusa here made into a 0 HD race with a heavily nerfed petrification power), a Human Arcane Dualist Bard, an Oread Warpriest, a Kobold Gunslinger, and a Human Sorcerer. It was really a mixed crew.
