A mounted group?

Advice

Scarab Sages

Was wondering if anyone tried out having an entire group consisting of mounted characters?

If so how was the experience? If not what do you think of the idea?

Could be something like an organization with all sort of classes they just all have to be mounted(preferable also workable in close combat)

I just think it could bring a much different experience and be pretty interesting to see 4-7 lined up regiment moving around.

Probably should be for a home game.

Finally how would you make the strongest mounted unit if everyone were to be mounted on animals and be able to move with the unit?(at the majority of the time)

The Exchange

I ran a Home Game for years in 3.0 with the setting being Desert Nomads - all the PCs were mounted on Light Warhorses. It was a lot of fun actually.

It brought an entirely new aspect to the game when all the PCs were armed with Bows and had fast movement speeds. A very fluid game sometimes... (we discovered that a Light Horse was faster than a Gargoyle, so when a Gargoyle attacked a group of PCs they scattered. Whichever one the Gargoyle chased would double move away and the other PCs would stop and shoot....)

Iron fang has mounted party
Going great guns thus far

Scarab Sages

I've wanted to try this for a little while, and that Mounted Druid in the new hardcover just cements it. Part of me wants to push it and have everyone ride Rocs though....
