Hey guys, I was thinking about this so I decided to pose the question to the forum: How many spells could a level 20 spellcaster have running on them at once, using their "own" power?
Rules:
No consumable items
level 20, standard money, 20 pb, wish, limited wish, miracle, blood money, and simulacrum banned
Any class combo.
7 day window to prepare, spell count taken at the end of day 7.
My guess is 150 total

I can't edit.
leadership, binding domination banned.
Irrelevant buffs are ok! I don't care how good it is, I want to see crazy high numbers.
EDIT: Irrelevant buffs actually become relevant when using dispel magic, but thats a side note
Indeed. I cast all my irrelevant buffs at full caster level, and all those I want protected at caster level - 1. This has saved my ass multiple times, my DM is dispel happy.

Oh, of course.... but what if the summons never go away?
;)I'm pulling out all the cheese I can manage with this sorcerer.
Yes, you heard that right. Not a wizard. A sorcerer. But it will have to be tomorrow; it's time for sleep.

You guys just need to step into a Demiplane with Timeless in Regards to Magic in effect.
From there, just layer on every single buff you can and you should be fine. Should this demiplane also have a Infinite Wish/Miracle setup using a great white whale and Blood Money going as well, you could probably just wish up every buff from any list you want as well given enough time. The rest can be filled in with scrolls. If that cheese with the whale isn't possible, just play a Mystic Theurge and do it instead.

I was actually thinking a Razmiran Priest with a ton of absurdly high-CL scrolls with spells from every divine class, including Adept, Occultist, Red Mantis Assassin, and Sahir-Afiyun. And, given time, we may run into an archetype that makes Sorcerer, Wizard or Arcanist a divine caster; same with bards, summoners, witches, and psychics, and the list would expand even more.

That is true. A lot of buffs don't stack. And even more don't affect a spellcaster.
Yeah, but some buffs might have multiple effects.
Protection from evil is a perfect example. Its first effect is a +2 deflection adn resistance bonus. The second bonus gives a second mental related saving throw with a morale bonus. Finally, the third effect messes with summoned creatures.
So even if a different spell gives resistance, deflection, or morale bonuses, you would still find an effect from protection from evil (mostly the saving throw and summoning thing).
Anyway, I will just take a guess. Assuming extended spell is liberally used, you could get up to 40 round/level spells (1 round/level x 20 levels x2 from metamagic) and 400 different minute/level spells (10 rounds per minute, 1 min/level x level 20 x 2 from metamagic). Anything longer than that makes the question of time moot when you are just aiming for a record, so assume as many of them as you can manage.
So this mostly becomes a question of what class gives the most varied buffs, slots, and then trying to find the optimal combo in your limited spell slots. Anything that lasts less than a minute should be abandoned to give priority to other, longer lasting buffs.
You might have to also take into account things like build. Wizards could get more slots with opposition schools, but then they seal off parts of their spell list for the purposes of this exercise (sure, you can just use more slots..... butthat is counter productive for what we want). Clerics might have an advantage for slightly better base slots, along with the option to grab more variety of buffs through domains.

How about a level 20 nature oracle with inifinite charisma and hit dice due to the infinite loop exploit.
With infinite hit dice come infinite feats. Expanded arcana can be taken multiple times, so the oracle can know every spell on the oracle list.
More importantly with infinite charisma comes concivably infinite spells per day. Though this is not as clear because the bonus spell table is missing the 3.5 "ect".
With infinite miracles the oracle could get all arcane and psychic buffs of 7th level and lower. With all oracle spells known + inifinite spell slots it could cast all oracle buffs.
