I'm loving the red lettering logo they've put out with the announcement. Its evocative, ominous, and hopefully a sign that The Last Jedi won't be a series retread like The Force Awakens was.
I really wish, though, that the abbreviation crowd would have stuck with ESB's precedent and drop the leading "T" way back in Phantom Menace days. PM, FA and LJ are like 33% less work typing, and isn't that the whole point of abbreviation?

-Finn and rebel alliance are attacked by first order on snowy ice planet.
-Kylo Ren hires bounty hunters to find Finn and Rey
-Luke trains Rey, but Finn and pals get into trouble and Rey leaves before completing her training to help them.
-Finn's father is Lando Calrissian portrayed by unknown actor, but face CGI'd to look like Billy Dee Williams.
-BB8 gets blown up and chewie has to repair it.
-bounty hunters freeze chewie in carbonite and captain phrasma takes him to tatoonie and hands him over to the Huts.
-Luke dies in battle with kylo ren after disabling tractor beam from sky city allowing Rey and gang to escape.
-Luke talks to Rey from spirit world and guides her in x-wing to blow up 4th death star base.
All jokes of course :)......I hope :(

I am sure all you Star Wars scholars are already aware of this, Jedi is also plural.
I had to mention this on 5 other forums, busy day for Geeks.
Although I do recall hearing of at least one foreign translation of the title being masculine and singular, for whatever that is worth.

That will be in the gag reel.

Upon doing a bit more research: There were apparently some Twitter posts in Portuguese about this movie. The graphics show the English title. Since the people reporting the title were evidently translating the title from English into Portuguese on their own, they may have made some unwarranted assumptions by starting the title with "O", the masculine singular version of "The".

Charles Scholz wrote:Die is also plural, so a hypothetical translation of "die letzte Jedi" could be either The Last (Female) Jedi or The Last (Group of) Jedi as far as I can recall from my long past German lessons...German has der, die and das. Masculine, feminine and neutral.
Not quite. If you wanted to refer to the group of Jedi, You would have to write 'Die letzten Jedi.'
Also, German titles for foreign movies are pretty much hit and miss and should not be seen as a meaningful source regarding the titles true meaning ('Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo' - 'the good, the bad, the ugly' was called 'Zwei glorreiche Halunken - Two magnificient rogues' in Germany, just to give you an example...)

That's not even the correct number of rogues!

There could also be that "character has changed their hairstyle" is a good shorthand for the passage of time and/or personal growth or change.
I mean, it's not as though most of her life hasn't been spent in environments with almost no humidity (desert planets and spaceships). If she's spending considerable time on the skellig islands with Luke, she might have found that what she had been doing isn't working like it used to.

Not to be a buzzkill, but before everyone gets too excited, it's worth noting there were rumors that a blu ray release of unedited versions was coming when Disney bought LucasArts and again in the lead up to Force Awakens. It seems they crop up every time there is a Star Wars release, so take the rumors with a grain of salt.

Well, Disney is a giant corporation and giant corporations care more about money than literally anything else. Since there are a whole lot of people who will take their animus regarding some of the meddling Lucas did with the films, Disney would be foolish to not capitalize on this somehow.
Unless Mr Lucas made never releasing unmeddled originals a condition of the sale...
Just saying...

I don't doubt there is a market for it. I'm one of the folks who would buy it in a heartbeat. I'm just saying there are always rumors about an unedited release, so don't get your hopes up too much.
It will be interesting to see what Disney determines they want to release. Star Wars has had some degree of editing for every single release. Those of us who didn't see it in a theater in 1977, or watch the 1977 VHS release haven't seen the original theatrical cut (this may be what Lucas is referring to when he insists there isn't an original unedited version anymore).
EDIT: Forgot to switch to my alias.

Guys Fox still retains the rights to distribute Star Wars (1977):
"The Walt Disney Company FY 2013 SEC Form 10-K Filing" (PDF). The Walt Disney Company. November 20, 2013. p. 13. Retrieved April 17, 2015. Prior to the Company's acquisition, Lucasfilm produced six Star Wars films (Episodes 1 through 6). Lucasfilm retained the rights to consumer products related to all of the films and the rights related to television and electronic distribution formats for all of the films, with the exception of the rights for Episode 4, which are owned by a third-party studio. All of the films are distributed by a third-party studio in the theatrical and home video markets. The theatrical and home video distribution rights for these films revert to Lucasfilm in May 2020 with the exception of Episode 4, for which these distribution rights are retained in perpetuity by the third-party studio."

Every contract can be renegotiated, and I have no doubt that Disney would eventually come to Mr. Lucas (or the executors of his estate) with a pitch like "hey, there's this new video format out there on which Star Wars has never been available, we want to do a lavish collector's edition with every version of every Star Wars film (like they did for Blade Runner), how does 30% sound?"

Considering a fan managed to make a decent approximation of the original releases in HD (the Despecialized Editions) I can't imagine it would be that difficult for professionals to do something similar. It might not be an exact remaster of the theatrical releases, but it would be better than what we currently have available on blu-ray.

Some bits of do otage has been been shown by Disney a Shareholders meeting.
- Luke accepting the Lightsaber Rey offers to him.
- Luke in a hut on Ahch-To asking Rey “Who Are You?” (interesting)
- Finn in a First Order uniform on the bridge of a Star Destroyer.
- General Leia.
- Several shots showing Rey spinning her lightsaber in practice.
- Captain Pharasma (well Duh)
- Chewie roaring. (really?)
- Poe in his X-Wing cockpit yelling “It’s now or never” to BB-8.
- Capital ships flying in space. (Duh)
- An X-Wing coming in for a crash landing in a hanger or capital ship (?)
I have Disney Stock for over a decade and I have yet to go to one of these.

You should totally go next year and sit next to the big wigs and vote your own stock instead of letting the brokerage firm do so.
The Luke Question is excellent, and helps with quelling the Secret Skywalker Rey obsessors. Unless its a bait and switch, which would suck. Non Skywalker Rey is so much more interesting than yet another Skywalker kid (UNLESS! She was Anakin's frozen seed or a female Anakin clone, then much better).
