The Pill-Popping Paladin (A Concept I'm Having Fun With)

So, I know that most folks don't mess with drugs in Pathfinder because of the ability damage, and the chance of addiction. However, a recent character concept I put together I'm calling The Pill-Popping Paladin embraces the harder alchemical items Golarion has to offer. Is it for the rush? To reach a higher state of mind? Or to gain an advantage when standing against the hordes? All potential options.

It's important to note that the Paladin immunity to disease does NOT include addiction.

Addiction is actually considered a brain disease...

Actually they are, according to the SRD Drugs all forms of addiction are listed as a disease. Is far I am aware paladin immunity to disease should cover this.

In the case of extended drug use, I'd make an arguement for the paladin becoming psychologically dependant.

I see a new "Paladin falls" thread in the making...

That's nothing to do with it being a drug though, same thing applies just as much to someone using a healing wand/potion and such an addiction wouldn't occur using the addiction rules because as soon as it does the paladin's immunity would prevent it from getting that bad.

But if the drug use is systematic, I would say it is very much lawful.

as far as I know being addicted to drugs is not an evil act. Though use of mind-altering substances may be against certain paladins' codes.

Additionally, a paladin's code requires that she respect legitimate authority, act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison, and so forth), help those in need (provided they do not use the help for evil or chaotic ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents.

I'll just leave this here.
