Archetype for mystic warrior powered through ghosts

Advice

I had this idea for a warrior type with some magic who gains strength through by consuming or taking in the ghosts of those he kills.

Which would be the best class and archetype for that?

Sineater Inquisitor?

Radiant Oath

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Haunted Oracle with the Battle or Bones mystery?

Exciter Spiritualist, maybe?

Plain old medium? just stay in champion, its the best spirit anyways.

Silver Crusade

Bloodrager with the Id Rager archetype? Or go Primalist and take the Spirit Totem line.

The Souleater Prestige Class. Problem is that it's 1/2 BAB.

Maybe?

Ancestors or Occult Oracle?

Primalist bloodrager (Undead bloodline) with the Spirit Totem rage powers.

Ectoplasmist spiritualist or necroccultist occultist.

Hungry ghost qinggong monk.

Perhaps some kind of swashbuckler with a multiclass for magic - what is that panache you get for a kill, really?

Medium. Start the game using just one spirit, and every time you "consume" a powerful ghost allow yourself to use another spirit.

The problem with that is, because there is only one good Medium spirit (Champion) until 11th level (when Marshal becomes semi-decent), and you have to build around usually using a certain spirit in order to be more than mediocre, so either you start your character crippled by using a crud spirit or the thematic progression means next to nothing unless you're playing with lots of frequent guaranteed non-combat days.

I have to agree. Medium is a very cool, thematic class, but seems to fall short even when you specialize heavily. Forget trying to utilize all the spirits equally.

That being said, Champion-focused Mediums do fill OP's request pretty well. Fighter who is powered by the ghost of a legendary swordsman. Casting spells like Oneiric Horror and Contact Entity fits like a glove.

All of these sound good. Thanks everybody.

Yeah, in my experience the real problem with the medium was that you're a 4th level caster so you need to fight, and you only have proficiencies with simple weapons (and not many feats to spare). So you either stick with the champion that gives you proficiencies so you're really ineffective at fighting when you're anybody else, or you build around simple weapons (TWF daggers works well with the river rat trait and Pharasma's obedience) so you're capable of being more than one kind of spirit on combat days (the dagger medium can be the trickster occasionally).

I mean, your capstone is amazing, but who ever gets to 20th level?

Here's a solution: take Evangelist PrC for full Medium class progression -1 level as well as Evangelist stuff including proficiency with deity's favoured weapon.

I find Marshal pretty fun. I use racial weapon proficiencies to help out. Just so I can falchion people into the ground. Armor is a pretty safe bet except for Archmage, and small dips into other classes can also net the rest. Just a couple small thoughts.
