Hello everyone. I recently acquired Legacy of Dragons, but it has what I assume are typos. I desperately need clarification on the new Fighter archetype- Dragonheir Scion, before my character reaches 3rd level. For in Legacy of Dragons, it says that in place of my 3rd & 5th level bonus feats, I get -Draconic Strike- and -Draconic Presence-, respectively. But to the best of my knowledge, there aren't any bonus feats at those levels. So did they mean my non-bonus feats? Or do I just get the new abilities 1 level sooner/later?
The other possible error I found is with the Eldritch Strikes ability. It gives Arcane Strike at 1st level, w/o prerequisites. However, it doesn't say if scales normally or with my Dragonheir class levels.
So, any clarification on these issues would be much, much appreciated. If it helps, I found the problem(s) on page 13.

The PFS Campaign Clarifications, found here, corrects them to replace the 4th- and 6th-level bonus feats (respectively). It doesn't address the scalability of Arcane Strike, but I suggest having it scale.
That's the best I have for you, I'm afraid. ^_^

The forum occasionally breaks links - it appears to have done so here. Since I can't post links, I'll give directions instead. ^_^
-Click on the Pathfinder Society logo on the left.
-Click on "Campaign Clarifications", in the grey bar near the top of the page.
-Scroll down until you reach "Legacy of Dragons". As a recent change, it's currently in red text.
-Look at the line marked "Page 12".

Interesting. The FAQ excludes SLA as a prerequisite, so you can't take Arcane Strike without spellcasting. However, it says nothing about the source of Caster Level.
A few traits, such as Light-Bringer, provide Caster Level equal to character level. Since the archetype gives you Arcane Strike as a bonus feat and simply scales on "caster level" (technically doesn't specify arcane, but as long as the cantrip is on the wizard list it counts as arcane), so this would work.

Chess Pwn wrote:A caster level for a SLA doesn't count as caster level for things that aren't that SLA.Where in the rules is this?
To the best of my knowledge it is not. The situation never existed until Dragonheir Scion was published last month. The statement seems like it is the result of repeating the SLA FAQ over and over from memory until it says more than it does. You cannot generalize "able to cast 2nd level spells" by having a racial Darkness SLA or "arcane spell caster" from a trait giving you Prestidigitation. However, if you have a Caster Level, you have a number in that "stat" (Caster Level).
Arcane Strike doesn't care where your Caster Level comes from (after you qualify for it): arcane, divine, psychic, or SLA.
If I'm a 1st level magus and 10th level cleric, I'll use my cleric Caster Level (10) for my Arcane Strike feat.

It's from talk about SLA and especially brought up with the kineticist.
Also I view this as extrapolation of classes are made as soloclass in mind. Thus caster level is only arcane caster level for arcane strike as that was the caster level needed to qualify, and the game assumes mono-class by default.

One, that's not the conclusion that I reached reading those discussions. That whole discussion was about kineticist's caster level in absence of a definition in the class' description.
Two, even if I did accept that as the conclusion of the kineticist discussion, specific trumps general, and the handful of traits (e.g. Light-Bringer) that give you a scaling cantrip specifically say you have a Caster Level = Character Level, and because of the SLA "type" FAQ, most choices result in you having an Arcane Caster Level.

Sorry to necro this thread, but has there ever been an official ruling as to the scalability of Dragonheir Scion's Arcane Strike and if not can we please get one? I see nothing in the clarifications document.
No and probably not.
It's in a player companion, the PDT don't do any rules stuff with that. So the only way to hope for a fix is that PFS adds it to their document of fixes, their Campaign Clarifications document, cause the PDT will sometimes use that work finding that answer as their FAQ/errata. So if you can bring it up in a PFS thread and get that to go into clarifications and then have the PDT adopt that clarification will it officially be addressed.
