The Wyrm Ouroboros |

Looking for someone in both the Restov Coursers (Azrael the Avenger, Christian d'Elegante, Aramil Wellys, or Alexander "Dart" Dumonte) and the Blessed Hospitallers (Amavin Zephyra, Ignatius Digenes Akritas, Titian Stagson, or Elliomander Ostarian) camps to answer their front door!!
(And going by the GM's directive, being in different groups and both being leaders, Dagit and Titian wouldn't be speaking to each other - perhaps one of you is meaning to be speaking as a follower??)

Amavin Zephyra |

Assuming the DM is happy, Amavin is happy answering the door, assuming someone (ie a guard or someone @ gate) comes and lets her know that someone is waiting on her, as she is currently working on her outfit / dress.
I'm happy typing something up if I get the nod.

Alysandra Janus |

Assuming the DM is happy, Amavin is happy answering the door, assuming someone (ie a guard or someone @ gate) comes and lets her know that someone is waiting on her, as she is currently working on her outfit / dress.

Same here
Pretty sure the GM is good with anyone in any particular camp taking the lead if someone comes a-calling; I mean, already said 'X is in Y', so ...
--------------------------------------------------------
Christian - nice find!! For those who want to hear the drinking song actually sung, the song is Lifeblood by Karen L.U. Kahan.
The epic poem of my own writing which Alysandra chants, The Chaining of the Rough Beast, is inspired by the rhythms of The Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the national epic poem of Finland, The Kalevala.
--------------------------------------------------------
The team sheet now has everyone's team added on, and is sorted by team, lead/cohort, and name. :D

Azrael the Avenger |

Sorry for two brief postings this morning and nothing since. Today I spent the day getting ready for a show, (freelance artist, major showing coming up and I have pieces that need finishing by Monday). Also, today was my birthday and we had dinner, went to a play and then drove out to a remote area to watch the Perseid meteor shower... unfortunately, even where we went, the marine layer came in and obscured all view of the sky... sigh... anyway - I will try to catch up tomorrow after my rotrl game. Please someone else feel free to 'answer the door' at the Restov Coursers tents.

![]() |

I am perfectly happy with you choosing who answers...
Wyrm, forgot to thank you for the character spreadsheet also.

Alistair Wellington |

@ allysandra
It is even better when you hear it sung around a fire with mead being passed around. Especially after a hard day of fighting with 1500 other armored men and women. SCA fighting is an intense and awesome sight to see, more so when you are involve in the fighting. That is one of the songs that we hear every so often after a two hour bridge battle.

Aolis Greenborn |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Until someone cast a reduce person on him. ;P
Strangely enough Aolis has dealt with Axhammer's problem for almost all his life concerning his family. He dodged the forlorn bullet, Axhammer may need to dodge the bleaching. Then again Aolis does not advertise his past, much less the painful bits. But anyone with a little info on his family name will figure it out. Dagit being tied to Garess would definitely know, noble families snoop on each other to no end.

Ishana Tamanna |

Hey Corsario, just while I'm role playing with Anavin, is anything further happening in the bar with the Four Swords and Ishana?

Coalhouse Porter |

If 'Alistair Wellington' is meant to be Christian D'Elagante, understand that Alysandra is neither a) a half-orc (she's a half-elf), nor b) at the gate any more (Titian's highest-level follower Ninefingers came to see who was there and brought her to Amavin, posted some four hours before you did). I would also personally appreciate c) some quote marks and paragraph breaks instead of just bolding for speech.

Lord Christian D'Elagante |

My mistake, sorry it is hard to keep track when you only have a phone while on vacation.
As for the bold text...I will try to accommodate your wishes.
I can correct the error.

Azrael the Avenger |

I'm back... but a bit overwhelmed by all the tldr posts (not all, just some)... I don't suppose someone can give me a short summary of what's going on so I can try to get back in the swing of things?

The Wyrm Ouroboros |

Bachu (cohort of Trawets of the Wanderers), as well as Ghent (Coalhouse's follower) went to check out the Aldori swordlords contingent. Bachu is still there; Ghent discovered that the transport professionals of the Aldori contingent are more butlers than porters, which means they're going to be woefully incompetent at moving wagonloads worth of goods tens or hundreds of miles over ill-maintained roads. Ishana (Amavin's cohort, of the Hospitallers) has deliberately sought out the Aldori's four best swordsmen, aka the Four Insperables, who are doing their best to seduce her.
So far as I can tell, Aolis (of the Wanderers) is doing his level best to piss off his cohort, Sacha; she is, however, delivering invitations to make contact with all the major groups, i.e. Hospitallers, Coursers, Aldori, etc.
Axhammer Rocknose (Wanderers) sent his cohort Alexander Burfoot around to all the Lawful temples in the city to ask about leading prayer services in each one; I have my doubts about his potential for success, especially whether a church of Asmodeus would want a Paladin leading a prayer service. That done, however, Burfoot is in the Wanderer camp, associating with Sacha (done with her deliveries) and Selinah the Rose, Dagit's cohort.
Also in the Wanderer's camp, Dagit is taking confession from Axhammer.
At the camp of the Restov Coursers, Jocasta Crunch (one of Coalhouse's followers) has arrived, where Christian d'Elegante is greeting her; I made a mistake and thought Christian was a Hospitaller, and so will be responding to his greeting here in a moment. (Sorry, Christian, my screw-up, not yours!!) Christian has also sent a message to his compatriots (to which Aramil has replied) about being ready for the fete'.
Coalhouse is checking on the organization of King-to-be Surtova's baggage train one last time before the party; his half-sister Alysandra has gone to check out the Hospitallers; greeted at the gate by Titian's follower Ninefinger, she has been escorted to speak with Amavin Zephyra.
Freiya Fjar-Bana-Högg (yet another of Coalhouse's followers) and Hareth (cohort to Azrael of the Coursers) are both checking out the Cenobitic Order; she, being terminally shy, had a tough time of finding anything out; Hareth seems to be making some headway, speaking with a girl who is, perhaps, an initiate and who thus has still not taken an oath of silence.
And because I'm the one writing the summary, I get to say that although Christian quoted a song someone wrote (link to actual singing up a few posts in this very thread), I actually wrote for Alysandra a wholly-original thematically-appropriate excerpt of epic poetry. ;)

Azrael the Avenger |

ty very much! that was awesome...

The Wyrm Ouroboros |

I like to think I can write pretty well ...
Oh, you mean the summary, not the poetry. Darn!! ;)
Well, hopefully Christian will reply to my mail (and the above bolded/italicised admission) about my mistake, and revise/delete his latest post before an hour's up. I was JUST about to start to reply ... :/
EDIT: Darn; guess not. Well, I'll manage something. ;)

Helikon |

A big dinner is planned for tonight, were the Lord Mayor Ioseph Sellemius is going to address the selected groups. Lord Sellemius it is said to be ill by the news of the Surtova's ruse, and planning a way to reverse the setback in Rostland's plans for the future. Maybe the new King will fall under the blade of a Greenbelt bandit or be killed by one of the many monsters or dangers on those lands?
So your teams have been selected by the Brevoy government to colonize the Stolen Lands. Your characters (both main and cohort, including Coalhouse and Alysandra, surprisingly) are getting ready for a fancy state dinner to make the charter official. Your teams are camped just outside the free city of Restov. You all know about the others, as your adventures are known to those in "the trade".
I read this as Main and cohort?

Elliomander Ostarian |

Sorry I haven't posted in gameplay- I have to have a pretty significant surgery tomorrow and the last couple days have been a whirlwind trying to get everything ready. Any chance Elliomander and Micah could have been delayed by something important and join the adventure a little late (like in a couple RL weeks)?

Alysandra Janus |

Heh. Well, your compatriots are having a little meeting, if you want to pro forma poke your head in. And then you can make little 'nods thoughtfully' and 'leans back and considers what X says' posts for the next while. ;)

Aolis Greenborn |

@DM
Little reminder that I am still waiting on the results of the diplomacy rolls and letters concerning the non-PC groups from Sacha's earlier post.

Yes, sorry, a weekend with a lot of work. The good news is that everything went ok.
I'll keep posting ASAP.

No way... that night some very important stuff will happen, and I need Elliomander "in the thick of it".
But don't worry, he can be a quiet guy for now.

I know... working on it.

If I owe somebody a response, please let me know.
Let's try to "tie" the afternoon off tomorrow, and tomorrow night tuesday morning we start with the fancy dinner, where your Mains and Cohorts are invited.
You are expected to be VERY well dressed, and UNARMED. No daggers, no saps, no "small" broadswords.
If you want to be armed, you will need to make a roll for it. I think Sleight of Hand is the one for that.
And if you fail, it won't be pretty, AT ALL. I hope I have convey the idea that things are tense as they are.
Just to confirm, Merus Lebeda and Stefan Tomanescu (after some effort in Stefan case) are invited too.

Amavin Zephyra |

Sounds fine. Amavin's probably pretty much ready for the dinner at the moment, and doesnt have anything outstanding. I'll probably have Ishana try and learn anything that might give either her or Amavin a diplomatic or political "edge"at the dinner, but has nothing planned after I finish up rping out her current situation and then she should be ready for the dinner as well.
Ishana might be a bit disgruntled by the no weapons rule but Amavin would insist to her not to bother bringing any weapons along.

Coalhouse Porter |

Can we Take 10 or 20 on the Sleight of Hand test(s)? :D

Aolis Greenborn |

Wow exploded again, going to catch up now.
Concerning being armed, Sacha will complain and likely be caught by Aolis trying to smuggle her rapier strapped to her long legs under that dress. But she will end up unarmed. ;)
Aolis on the other hand has made his staff a cane for the party, which is fashionable and fits his get up. He is over a hundred and not the most physical sort after all. Would that be considered a weapon as he does not really need it and it's original form is just a slightly longer piece of fancy wood.

![]() |

You can take 20... and the guards can take 20 checking you, too, if they see a burly half orc getting in with a suspicious face.
So... you can take 20, but you have to think twice if it is worth the risk, specially the group that came from "Issia" and is disliked already. In case they find you armed, that could turn ugly really fast, and I don't mean combat...

![]() |

It would be hard to distinguish a spell component pouch from a normal one. You can carry it, just don't flaunt it.
Just to ease your mind. No, there is no (physical) combat in the dinner. Just social one.
And starting to cast spells in there is a "no" too.

Azrael the Avenger |

So good to hear.... glad you are recuperating and home... no fun staying in a hospital... Hope your recovery progresses well... take care.

![]() |

Nate! Good to see you back typing. Rest well, and return as soon as you feel like it! Glad everything went ok.

![]() |

Any questions so far? How are you feeling the adventure?
I am missing to answer something? Yes, I know I am behind in the checking, secrets and items... working on it.
Please let me know:
- If any of you will carry weapons to the dinner, and which ones? (and how do you pretend to pass them in the gate - Component pouches, canes and things like those are no issue. Quarterstaffs are.)
- If you want to have any other preparations for it. Do yo take your followers to be outside? Cast a spell over you?
I will post the start of the dinner tomorrow.

Aolis Greenborn |

Aolis and Sacha are good. Aolis will be taking his staff disguised as a cane but otherwise nothing that could be considered a weapon. Sacha won't bring a weapon, no matter how hard she argues or tries to sneak it pass Aolis. :)

Azrael the Avenger |

neither Azrael or Hareth will be bringing any weapons.

Aramil Wellys |

No armor or weapons, but Aramil will be wearing his magical protective items and headband of intellect, as well as spell component pouch.
Porablum will take her lute and protective items.

5 answers so far... waiting for the other 9... Hurry up!
Dinner is served!

Coalhouse Porter |

Nah, I have the power of a short sword in my palm anyhow. He will be wearing the merciful amulet of mighty fists, however. Discretely, i.e. under his clothes. After all, if it really came down to it, 2d6+2d4 non-lethal when flanking x 3 strikes with a flurry = 36 non-lethal, and therefore an unconscious foe, for most NPC sorts. Otherwise, he'll have his standard magical gear on - heavyload belt, muleback cords, snakeskin tunic, sleeves of many garments (which makes all the rest of it look just like he wants), and the tengu drinking jug, which he carries in a manner not unlike Auron in FFX. He also has two rings, one appearing relatively mundane (the thieves' ring, which he wears all the time and might actually forget it's there), one signet ring (the 'IB' ring with 'flaws' - indicators that will tell the others who it belongs to),
Alysandra will have her boots of the cat, heavyload belt, muleback cords, sleeves of many garments, and tengu drinking jug as well. She will have her spell component pouch, and will cast both prestidigitation and tongues upon herself just before she walks inside. She will basically keep her Sociable ability up and running through the night.
