I want to try something.
In general, the teamwork feats have a pretty bad reputation. However, the few times I've seen them used, they were at least as effective as many other common feats. Also when I've given them to NPCs, it really gave the players a rough time. I would like to try a group that sets out from the beginning with the intention of trying to make good use of the teamwork feats.
Run mostly the more challenging scenarios in hard mode, and see how it really goes in use not just biased theory craft.
I thought about an AP but PFS progresses a bit quicker and replacing dropouts is easier. Plus we could rotate the GM position so everyone would get time to play and tryout the teamwork feats.
So what do you think? Any one interested in a regular rotating PFS group that build with say approx half teamwork feats?

Æroden |

Do you mean run this under actual Society rules, for credit and all that? Wouldn't we have to start at 1, or hope that some people already have teamwork-oriented characters?
Or, do you mean use PFS creation rules, but just play the scenarios outside of Society play, so we can skip directly to the challenging ones without worrying about finding three scenarios per level?

ElterAgo |

I personally, would prefer to be actual PFS characters for credit. So yes starting at level 1. I would think we can find some challenging scenarios at all levels. Plus I want to prove that teamwork feats do (or do not) work at all levels.
That was my thoughts anyway. Everything is open for negotiation.

Is there a particular arc/season you're interested in doing?
The Runelord arc would be an interesting choice, for example.
Not really. There are a couple of threads discussing which scenarios seem to be most difficult, but I haven't really had a chance to look through it yet.
..
To some of you others, are you completely new to Pathfinder in general or just new to Pathfinder Society?
Not against including you either way. Just want you to be aware, I was looking to mostly run rather difficult scenarios in hard mode. Trying to really test the teamwork feats.
So if you've never played Pathfinder at all, it may be a more difficult intro than you were really looking for. But be that as it may, if you want to give it a try, most of us are more than willing to help and give advice.
.
.
I myself am an experienced PF and PFS GM. However, I haven't GM'd a PbP before. So I may need some help from the rest of you on how to set things up.

Well, just because of the bonus teamwork feats, I would expect an inquisitor, cavalier, and hunter.
Fighters have so many extra bonus feats they can easily devote all their regular feats to teamwork feats and then use the bonus feats for something less intensive like standard strength based THW combat.
I think any full caster could still be pretty decent at casting even if a bunch of feats are teamwork feats.
Rogues and slayers? Yeah, they can benefit from some of the flanking and sneaky potential. But have to make sure we have enough muscle for a standup fight when needed.
Barbarians, paladins, bards, and rangers get much/most of their power from their class abilities.
Not so sure about some of the hybrids I see less often. Inquisitors, bloodragers, war priests, monks, etc...
Also remember a familiar with the Valet archtype gets all its masters teamwork feats.
If you give an eidolon teamwork feats, you automatically have someone you control to coordinate actions with.
Animal companions that are intelligent enough can also get them for the same reason. I'm trying to remember, but I think some of them are even available to animal intelligence.
But really, this team concept would require us to work together much more than usual when building characters. If we are trying for a stealthy/skilled group, we would probably want a different set of builds and teamwork feats than if we are a heavily-armored-wall-of-meat group.
Though some would probably be useful for either group.
I personally am willing to play nearly anything except bard or straight rogue. Not sure entirely why, just never been able to be successful or really get into either one. I can still play a stealthy scout or support caster, just not with those classes.

I'm a 2 star PFS GM and pretty well-versed in Pathfinder. I enjoy more difficult scenarios and usually want to play up or hard mode. Only one character death so far (due to the party witch forgetting to cackle and extend misfortune...sigh).
My build will be a tripping battlefield controller with a big cat companion. Outflank, pack flanking, paired opportunist, coordinated maneuvers with vicious stomp and greater trip will yield lots of AoOs.

I am interested, however depending on the scenarios done I may have already played them. I am more than happy to GM the ones I have already played, presuming I have the scenarios, I am not looking to go out and buy no games. I own seasons 0-4, and most of the mods so I am plenty of options should you need some.
I have a link of all the games I have played in, under this alias in a spoiler box for ease of reference too.
I am up to play anything except bard (never been a huge fan), and sorcerer (I have always preferred wizards lol)
Anyways, I will keep an eye on the thread, and feel free to PM for any other questions of needs of a GM :)
I know that I am in a season 4 arc, so I am out for playing in those games, but will be happy to GM any of them :)

I would be extremely interested, as I have been trying to find a place to start a PFS Holy Tactician Paladin. I also have a boon which gives evil taint regardless of alignment. I think a party with some skullduggery, Outflank, Paired Opportunists, and an AoO theme would be very effective in the PFS environment.
Would we be able to start at L1? I really like the idea of building up from scratch, and enjoy feeling connected to characters who struggled to make it.
Thank you very much for the idea, and Stay Awesome!
Ben

Sounds like a party! I've got this Inquisitor with a heavy divination/abjuration focus who could also expand more into teamwork feats.
I'd also be interested to build a teamwork focused fighter/brawler. I'm thinking a focus on repositioning could help maximize his usefulness in triggering the teamwork feats.
I've never GM'd before, and I only own the pdfs of the scenarios that were available through the Humble Bundle, but I'd love to give it a try if anyone could share, and I think a PbP would be a good venue for my first venture into the hot seat.

So it looks like we have 12 people interested. More than I was expecting actually. We could actually do 2 groups if we wanted to.
I will be very busy with work for the next couple of weeks, but then I will try to start getting something organized after that. (Unless of course one of you want to start getting it organized now.)

Perfect. I plan to create General Dissa Ray, a holy tactician paladin 3/guiding blade swashbuckler 1/exemplar brawler x.
I plan to utilize a fauchard and build into paired opportunists, outflank, and pack flanking, with the ability to grant a constant 30' aura teamwork feat at L3, extras for 4-round bursts at L4, inspire courage at L7, and more teamwork feats granted at L9.
Combat Reflexes, Flagbearer, and Banner of the Ancient Kings (or others) are part of the plan as well.
Three companion abilities would be awesome:
1) someone who can scout,
2) flank buddy with sneak attack and combat reflexes
3) someone with Haste
These could all be the same character, but those abilities will be great to utilize the team in teamwork. I hope that plants some seeds, or helps shape the party :-)

I could play the scout. Dwarf Inquisitor with focus on Divination magic = high Perception/Senese Motive/Survival, detect alignment at will, etc. I'll also get the ability to treat allies like they have my teamwork feats for my use or switch my teamwork feats to better match up with allies when needed at L3. I just need to copy the alias over into a PFS character and actually put the build together.
I could go Inquisitor 6/Honor Guard Cavalier 5 which would give me even more ability to give allies a defensive boost. Plus that would give me a mount so I would be a bit quicker as a scout. ; )

Which class is giving you the animal companion to qualify for pack flanking? Holy tactician replaces divine bond (which still doesn't qualify as it only functions like animal companion and is not the animal companion class feature). I'm not familiar with a guiding blade swash. Did you mean inspired blade?

Update that to say "Gang Up" and not "Pack Flanking". My bad! I am learning all the Teamwork Feat stuff this week. That's what led me to this thread in the first place.
Also, may I present: General Dissa Ray!

"Greetings fellow Pathfinders from the vaunted halls of the Dark Archives! While our thirst for knowledge is unbound, the sanctity of that knowledge must be bound tightly, and guarded staunchly. I stand to protect the relics you seek!"
The human leans forward on the pole of his Fauchard as he speaks, as though to convince someone of his conviction.
I have never played Wounded Wisp, which would be very cool. Also, I peeked at Vindler's background, and a demon-hunting campaign would be terrific for me. I have a few boons directly related to the Worldwound and evil outsiders. Thanks to Slin2678 for running!

I'll get my build up sooner rather than later then; we can always swap it around after the first and you get a chance to look at it.
Also, if there are that many, I'd prefer Wounded Wisp; my single other PFS scenario is a play of Confirmation going on right now on the boards. I know it's an evergreen, but I would still much prefer to play something different, given my limited experiences.
Also, to say it in public, I'll gladly pick up and run some once we get started. I've got a couple other things getting ready to begin right now, and I'd like to get them established before taking on something else.

Hello and well met fellow adventurers, I've heard there are folk here-about planning a team-centric outing and I'd like to come along. I'll improve your combat effectiveness, I can identify religious and other worldly creatures, and I've got an eye for spell craft. I also swing a mighty stiff mace if you catch my drift.
Let me know where I can best serve and I'll be there quick as you please.
Thanks,
Jezakay

To answer your question AlterEgo, I have never done a Pathfinder Society game before. I've been play pathfinder for... years.
I think a Hunter(Packmaster) would be fun to play! Thoughts?
Sorry. Packmaster is not PFS legal. Check out legal stuff here

Balance. It's a worldwide campaign where all players and GMS alike can run standard scenarios and modules. Take away any of that standardization and the balance would disappear.
Authors playtest the scenarios they write
GMS know what to expect from players
Players are slightly limited in gear and character creation
I can play any of my PFS characters at any table at any time and expect a fun but challenging game.

It looks like:
Slin2678 [GM]
Dulomak [Half-Orc Hunter] with T-Rex
Vindler [Dwarf Inquisitor of Abadar] scout / called to hunt Demons
Jezakay [Human Cleric of Desna]
Dissa Ray [Human Paladin of Tsukiyo] teamwork feat sharing
It looks like we could still use some arcane support.
Also, the shared teamwork feats should be able to generate many AoOs per round. I would recommend a little dex and some combat reflexes to maximize our damage.
Outflank - Generate an AoO on a crit
Paired Opportunists - Grants an AoO when your ally gets an AoO
Gang Up - Grants flank when more than 2 allies threaten a foe
Broken Wing Gambit - Grants an AoO when attacked, grants foes +2 to hit, +2 to damage
Check out this Guide
Our entire party could easily get multiple AoOs per round by L5.
If anyone ever wanted to play a dex rogue, this would be the group!
