What does Walker among evil protect me from?

I was wondering what exactly Walker among evil protects me from. I was wondering if I should pick it in my wrath of the righteous campaign.

Walker Among Evil
Your purity always remains a blessing, even when you're surrounded by creatures that despise it.

Prerequisites: 5 or more Hit Dice, good alignment.

Benefit: You can alter the essence of your being to lessen the effects of spells designed to harm good creatures. When affected by spells and effects that behave differently according to alignment (such as unholy word or protection from good), you can choose whether you are considered good or neutral. This ability does not actually change your alignment or fool divinations, nor does it permit you to overcome alignment requirements for the use of magic items, class abilities, and so on.


There are certain spells like unholy blight, and abilities like smite good, that only affect good-aligned creatures. They tend to come up pretty rarely, though, and I certainly wouldn't spend a feat on it.


In a campaign with a lot of Devils and Demons (high level variants of which often have a constant Protection From or Dispel Good, and pack Unholy Blight at will) it might be useful.

Doubly so if Anti-Paladins are an issue. No Smite for them.


I've only played maybe a third of the way through the second book of Wrath, but while normally I would agree with Kirth's assessment, if I were ever going to use that feat, I think Wrath would be the place to do so.

It's been a while and I was playing a neutral PC when I was in it, but I'm willing to bet that AP has an abundance of Smite Good attacks coming the party's way.

Would depend on build a little too. We should be restarting Wrath in a few months, and while I'll be playing a good PC this go around, my character is going to be so feat starved it's not even funny...so I probably wouldn't pick it up for him.


Possibly in the Hell's Rebels (have not played it, but based on the description seems like it might be handy).


Holy crap that feat is cool. Pretty good in certain campaigns too.

In wrath I used one of my mythic talents to get beyond morality (it allows you to choose the best alignment for saving against spells). To me this talent is worth it for that AP.

The effect seems to also allow you to change DR X/Evil to just DR X/--. That could be useful in some campaigns.

The name of the feat is actually Worldwound Walker. I have a Kitsune Sorceress who picked it up because of Unholy Blight and to get around Protection from Good stopping her Charm and Dominate spells.
