optical sight on Crossbow

Advice

Do optical sights (or any other device which has the function to improve aim) exist in Pathfinder? I've seen a beautiful art in the Ranged Tactics Toolbox with Ezren holding a crossbow with three sights on it — page 18. It would be cool to create something similar!

There is a magic item called Assassin's sight from the same book. Maybe those are what you are looking for?

I can't say I know of any Weapon Attachments in pathfinder. But an optical sight should be fairly easy to justify implementing.

But what would the optical sight actually do, mechanically-wise?

Would it negate some of the Range Penalty of the weapon, or would it instead modify the penalty to perception, lowering it to -1/20 ft?

And should there be some kind of drawback? I can see how you wouldn't be aware of your surroundings while using it, since your field of vision is greatly reduced.

Edit: I just remembered that the weapon cord exists. Which is a Weapon Accessorie.

You want this fellow.
Or his friend.

Ask your DM if you can mount one.

The assassin's sight is great, even if a bit specialized. I was actually looking for something more "mundane", for a low level character. I didn't think what it could mechanically do, but negating some range penalty would be great. With another research I found out there are some sights on the Ultimate Equipment, but they are designed only for fireguns. What a shame!
A spyglass may be somewhat useful, anyway.

There is a scope somewhere... that allows you to make touch attacks with a gun at logner distances.
I bet you could design one that would allow it via a crossbow (fullround action to do touch attack at range or something)
but that is raw wise.

Most of the main scope like things are firearms.
I do wish there was more scopes and bayonets that worked well in the game.
do see why not though
