Well, I went over the Iron Gods Player Guide and People of the River, and it's given me two concepts. One is either a Kalistocratic Bard/Summoner interested in using the technology of Numeria to accumulate wealth, or a Tattooed Sorcerer/Unchained Rogue who's a local of the town of Torch, acting as a barber-surgeon and a tattoo artist.

I really like the concept of kellid barbarians. Also, there's this picture, so I probably have to do a two-weapon fighting barbarian, now.
Not sure how to make that good, but I will, somehow. Unchained is an option, especially if I can convince the GM that I should get to use Chained rage powers. As for what goes on the other side of the gestalt... Bard, maybe?

You might want to look into the Savage Technologist archetype.

Yes, I know, but I feel like going Invulnerable Rager instead, I think.
Besides, ST does melee / ranged two-weapon fighting, which isn't really what I was looking for.
Thanks for the recommendation though.

Interested, but don't know what 'gestalt' requires. Happy to run a regular-type PC though.
[caveat- I own the AP but don't retain much after I skim them. Plus I don't meta-game, to a fault.]
Android Ranger or a Kellid witch pop up. Unchained rogue could also be fun. I'm ok to fill roles if others have solid builds.
I dig the AP, and once there are build guidelines...

Gestalt refers to an alternate, high-powered rule from DnD 3.5 in which you gain levels in two different classes simultaneously. It roughly translates to "make whole", in the sense that you only gain the best abilities from each class every level.
For instance, if you were to play a gestalt Fighter/Rogue, every level you would gain d10 + Con hit points, and gain 8 + Int skill points, as well as a good progression in both Fortitude and Reflex saves, and you would gain all the class features of both classes every level. That said, the two sides of the gestalt are treated as independent classes, so you can't get into a prestige class by combining features on either half.

Thanks JDPhipps!
If the DM wants to gestalt things, I'll need to drop out of consideration. I think the game balance is enough that this style is not of my liking.
It's a lot of dice to drop, a lot of things to track, and a lot of what I'm not looking for in a PbP.
I am lucky in that I get to roll dice table side locally, so a PbP gestalt is too much book-keeping for me.
Should gestalt be dropped, though, I'm totally interested.

Ms.Pleiades : A duo would be cool, also new to Gestalt, so after reading the above description will have to find a second class that compliments the Gunslinger.
Just to check, I remember reading somewhere that the Gunslinger is an Archtype of the Fighter, right? So I couldn't take Fighter as my second class?
If so, will either go Rogue or Ranger.

The Dragon |

Thank you Bane88, just a quick clarification ... I can still use Archtypes of each class, yes? Or do they count as Varient classes?
Oh yes, you can still use archetypes, and even variant classes. You just can't take the same class with two different archetype two times on the same level.
For example, a character can't be a Bloodrager[Primalist, Steelblood, Untouchable Rager] 1//Bloodrager[Spelleater] 1, even though that might be fun to play.
However, you absolutely can be a Rogue[Scout] 1//Fighter[Dragoon] 1

Cool, in that case I shall submit a Ratfolk Gunslinger with Rogue (still deciding on 2nd class ... maybe Wizard (SpellSlinger?)
Thank you for the help everyone.
Base Gunslinger or Siege Gunner would probably be good for a gunslinger. The Gunslinger's Startling Shot deed lets them make an enemy flatfooted, but only until the beginning of the enemy's next turn. So it wouldn't benefit you very much to have the rogue levels.
I'll send you a PM so we can discuss this a bit more without clogging this chat

Woo! Iron Gods! I was in a lovely game that unfortunately stopped. What are your rules on playing used characters, GM? If possible, I'll apply with my old sorcerer, and probably add some bloodrager to it. Mostly a sorcerer, however.
Thanks!
No issues there, as long as you don't metagame too hard.
