The next Fall Preview is up!
While we love the classic monsters of fantasy, inspired by the myths of Mediterranean and Western European cultures, we also note that some Earth cultures that have awesome monsters and villains that you just don't see very often in fantasy RPGs!
If you'd like to see more monsters from off the beaten path of bestiaries past, check out the announcement of the latest Beasts of Legend book from Legendary Games - BEASTS OF THE EAST, bringing you monsters from Southeast Asia as well as some more familiar faces from the folklore of China and Japan.

Trying very, very hard not to pester, but is there any hint/glimmer/inkling regarding Royal Tournaments (even if it's just "wait and see")?
I'd like to hear something about this one myself.
And yay for the new bestiary. If we can get some more for the pre-Columbian Americas, the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, etc., I'd be delighted.

Pester away! It is currently #3 in my work queue (#2 if you just count writing, as one of those I'm finished with my writing part; just need to do some editing and development).
If all goes well, it'll be up and out by the end of the month! At last our long national nightmare will finally be over! :)

The Legendary Games product schedule is just ram packed with so much awesome stuff it's hard to know where to begin with the things I'm looking forward to the most. Royal Tournaments is definitely up there, and I'm very much looking forward to Ultimate Armies (not least so that I know what I need to get into the kingdom tracking spreadsheet!), and I need to keep getting the Mythic Monsters, and anything else with monsters in, and...
I've just remembered that I get a pay increase this month. I'm not sure I can grin widely enough.

Any word on when To Worlds Unknown will be released? Imminently? Not-so-imminently?
Still working on it. Turns out, there's lots of moving parts to writing an entire AP chapter with supporting backmatter material. Also, as the lead-off chapter, we want to make sure To Worlds Unknown really sings. So, we're all putting in some extra effort on it.

Something I was curious about, sorry if it's not on topic. Will the Legendary Villains line get any expansion? I found both the dark druids and antipaladins books to be really good and would appreciate other books on bad guys in a similar vein.
As a matter of fact, we've got another one in development RIGHT NOW! More info to come as our previews continue!

So...when do we see Ultimate Rulership Part Deux?
I think that will definitely have to wait until after Ultimate Armies (which reminds me, I need to send Jason an email).
Also, you'll note that there are three mass combat books in the Ultimate Plug-ins line (UBat, UWar, and UArm) and only one Kingdom rules expansion, which might mean that there's limited scope for more rules about it (but if you can think of something, throw it out!), and Jason needs to take care since there is quite a lot of enthusiasm for an Ultimate Kingdom compilation, and every product added increases the size of such a compilation, and makes it more of an effort to produce (which drives costs up, which drives prices up, which makes it less appealing to gamers which means fewer sales, which means less chance of getting compilations...)
On the other hand, more Kingdom rules tickles my fancy, so please don't take this as a negative response to the idea. I think it's a great suggestion.

The latest in our Mythic Monsters series, this time devoted to the tireless titans of goodness and glory, Mythic Monsters 30: Heavenly Host is now available in wide release! A dozen and one avenging angels and awesome agathions are here for you, along with a system of sacred feats for both mythic and non-mythic characters alike, for those willing to devote themselves to the service of the better angels of their nature! Pick up Mythic Monsters 30: Heavenly Host at the Legendary Games webstore, Open Gaming Store, Paizo, and DrivethruRPG!

The latest (and, for now, the very last) of our Mythic Minis is up and available: Mythic Minis 80: Inherent Advancement This simple system can be used in mythic and non-mythic games alike to help you break the tyranny of the boring “Big Six” magic items and their bland bonuses and make treasure a lot more fun by reorienting the way you think about treasure and how characters can accumulate the basic bonuses the game assumes without having to be decked out like Christmas trees with monotonous magic items just to keep their numbers up.
What is replacing it on our now Mythic-less Mondays? Check out the preview for our new Rivals and Relationships series by Mark Seifter, starting next week with the Lonely Lyrakien!

Some thoughts (with inspiration from Sid Meier's Civilization games)
- Culture-specific kingdom buildings (based on real-world lands; IP-protected ones are out of bounds)
- Culture-specific military units (based on real-world lands; IP-protected ones are out of bounds)
- Expanded trade options - Invest some BP and risk losing it, breaking even, or making a bundle. (possibly expanding the Caravan rules for more trade-focused caravans)
- Politicking between organizations and the kingdom, such as a Church/State detente or alliance, Mage School/Church/State tensions, etc. (possibly incorporating the Faction rules).
- Something about facilities or satellite settlements within the same hex as a settlement
- Adaptation of manorial holdings (inspired by A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe, from Expeditious Retreat Press) into the kingdom-building rules; such as, perhaps Manors form an alternative to concentrated settlements
- Additional edicts and edict types based on the above
- If the "politicking" suggestion takes off, some thoughts on scaling the organizations based on the Village/Town/City groupings already published in Ultimate Rulership

Much glee from me.
Okay, taking these one at a time:
Culture-specific buildings - Definitely like this idea. I suspect that a fair amount of this can be achieved by reskinning existing building types, but at the very least some examples of what to reskin into what would be awesome (I'm not hot on differing cultures, really, so I can't think of any examples off the top of my head).
Culture-specific military units - Again, I like this idea. I think we might have to wait for Ultimate Armies, since that should have a (large) number of military units in it. But, again, might just be a reskinning job.
Expanded Trade Options - Nice one. Perhaps something converting the Investment Rules from UCam into a Kingdom-level version. That has some serious promise.
Politicking - I get where you're coming from, and I like the theory, but how much of this is actually something that should be plot-design, how much should be Kingdom events, and (considering the level of detail you could get into with different organisations in a Kingdom) how much is actually a completely new subsystem at an intermediate level (somewhere between Downtime/Character and Kingdom Turn level, since you're dealing with entire organisations as participants)?
Facilities/Satellite settlements - Not sure where you're going with this. Can you give an example?
Manorial Holdings - don't have the book you mention, so can't really comment, but I get the impression from what you're saying that rather than looking at full-blown settlements, rules for smaller scale ownership, where a character is the Lord of the manor, has peasants and guards and whatnot, and how that style of rulership would impact the UCam rules. If I'm right, I think it would be best served by another rules system (it seems closer to Downtime than Kingdom, to me). Of course, if I've misunderstood, please correct me.
Edicts etc - Depends on whether I'm right or not.
Of those ideas, the one that really excites me is politicking. I actually think that an entire subsystem specifically for the creation, development, management, and interaction between organisations is a fantastic idea.
Just spitballing ideas, here:
Different organisational types (religious, civil, business), purpose (education, manufacture, social, spiritual, government), structure (guild, master/apprentice, hierarchical). Each organisation issues edicts/instructions (let's not overuse terminology, we have learned from the level/level debacle) intended to enhance their ability to influence the Kingdom, there could be events (that could get complex...) which affect each organisation, and at the end of the day (week/month) the combined effects of the organisations in a Kingdom affect the bonuses of various of the Kingdom rulers for the Kingdom turn. Of course, the organisations are also able to work with or against each other, as well as simply pursuing their own agendas, which would be analogous to mass combat.

The latest (and, for now, the very last) of our Mythic Minis
That's sad news in my opinion. I understand that the recent Mythic Minis were basically just taken from the Mythic Mania books, and so people might just be more inclined to buy those instead.

Hey, with all of these subsystems, there might be enough for a complete Rulership hardcover compilation, that didn't need to share space with the other Ultimate lines.
On a completely unrelated note, what's in the pipeline for Legendary Classes?

Urath DM-
I see where you and Chemlak are going with this and I agree, more development is a good idea. Another item to add to the bunch in the vane of commerce rules, resources (which mostly will come in the form of cultural resources). One to add to this group that would not be in the Civ style games is magical resources. Also, (I may be rambling a little, apologies for that) what about a magical focal point as a naturally occurring building/hex. Holy sites, consecrated and desecrated areas. How about tourism for commerce (famous battlefields for instance)? There are some fringe aspects I think that can be explored to make PCs really think about what they will do to develop their kingdoms and manage their downtime.
The largest piece of work I see is tying these great ideas together as part of a balancing act of precedence for the PCs. What will they sacrifice in order to develop a specialized item such as these. Another thought that just occurred to me...in the vane of religious organizations or guilds, donations of buildings for political favor/influence.
Another idea, the introduction of generational characters as a system. I know some folks already do this for replacements or retirements of advanced characters, but what about developing the next generation of adventurers at low level while the current high level characters continue to play out their kingdom building. With this concept, the low level PCs could start play with some slightly advanced help from their patrons/relatives, but also start with the same nemesis as those patrons/relatives (i.e. the more help they get the more bad guys show up to offset it somewhat). Maybe someone can see the potential I am trying to relay here and expound on it for me? I do not have any players of sufficient level to implement something like this, but maybe I can approach my group to set up a playtest of some of these concepts. No promises...

Hi all,
Lots of great ideas for Rulership expansion here. I think there is plenty of room to expand things.
To quickly answer the question about Legendary Classes, the next ones in the pipeline are:
Legendary Villains: Evil Clerics by Jenny Jarzabski
Legendary Gunslingers by Alex Augunas
Legendary Fighters by Jason Nelson

Any chance for any more of those Ap Npc hero books coming out anytime soon?
Neil has the Egyptian Heroes crew mostly well statted up, but he's been a little busy with the whole Legendary Planet project to actually write up the backgrounds and such.
We do have one or two more that are starting to brew on the back burner, one of which has been teased before (Planetary Heroes, to go with the Legendary Planet AP), and one... will be something new!
