Hi friends!
I'm working on a project. Basically, wouldn't it be great to see what has been made in the competition already? To sort that list by year, author, item type, or spell level? To search for key words in descriptions? I'm sure some folks have done it before for themselves (or maybe online and I didn't notice), but here's one for everybody!
Stop in, click an item link, and get fillin'! Once we're done, you'll be able to just download it as an Excel Spreadsheet and filter and sort to your heart's content. :)
I've locked the ITEM, AUTHOR, and YEAR/SEASON columns because they are done.
Suggestions for improvement are welcome.
Note: For small, slotless, rocky/crystally/charmish/not-really-categorizeable items, I am using the item type "bauble".
Current Ideas
- Column for full item text in one line for keyword search purposes.
- Column for how far the author got in the competition that year.
Hey Chris,
I added in details for my item from last year (ice fang). I also froze the top row so you can see the column headers when you are scrolled way down in the list.

This is the sort of project I've been warned against in the past as unpublished Top 32 items are owned by Paizo and aren't available for use under any license. This might be vague enough to work, though.
Hi Garrett. That's a good point. Let's keep it with just the "premise" column and not put in that column for the full item text, in that case.
If asked to stop, I'll pull it.
For everyone's reference, these are the item slots.
I have been doing subcategories for some item types. For example:
- bauble, orb
- weapon, sword
- weapon, hammer
- container, locker
- container, pouch
- container, bottle
And so on. Better for sorting purposes.
EDIT: Thanks for freezing the row, Russ. That's helpful!

I'm messing with this a bit. I'm sure obvious categories will emerge as we fill it out.
This type of effort is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if it's copyright kosher, but it's certainly a boon for the RPGSS community.
Thank you!

JJ Jordan wrote: At worst, Paizo could ask them to close the document but why would they? They're not in the habit of making exceptions. I'm a little squashed for time, but compiling items for redistribution comes up a few times a year for at least the last three or four RPGSSs and Paizo always, always shoots it down.
So long as they leave it up until people have finished their submissions, it's played it's most important role. It'll be interesting to see what they do.

Hmm, while not quite the same thing, last year there was a public google doc tracking submitted items and seeing which ones made it past the cull. Owen K.C. Stephens gave that an a-okay.
Would someone kindly correct the typo in my name? Thanks. ;)
Hi Pedro! I'll do that tonight when I get home!
I'll take an extra "T" in Elliott if you would please sir.
Oy vey! Maybe I should unlock that column after all.

Nahhhh, you don't want all of the Jacobs to be able to muck with that column!

Last year's trackers only named or linked to items and reviews. At most, the list of seen items noted a slot.
I've done 2013. I'd be grateful if someone could cast an eye over to check it's okay.

While the OGL and Community Use disclaimer may not protect you including them somehow above or below the table might be a good faith effort worth pursuing.
You might also consider a final column that links back the Paizo product listing where any submissions have been formally published. The development process does alter some of the items. I think some items made it to Ultimate Equipment and many more have made it to RPG Superstar modules like Tears at Bitter Manor and Daughters of Fury.

Now if only those adventures would get chronicled for PFS so more of us can play with those items.

It would be awesome to have one of my characters running around using the item I designed in PFS!
Gloves of Reconnaissance author should be "Chad" Bartlett instead of "Char." Thanks! :)
Added details on the Torc. I love this idea!
