Interest Check / Poll for a new homebrew campaign

Recruitment

Hey everyone, I've been looking to run a homebrew campaign and wanted to run both of my ideas by you guys, and then pick one to run. I haven't decided on what character creation rules I'd use for either, I'm just looking to see which, of these ideas, would be more fun for you guys!

Idea 1:
This one is based on Galt, which is an area that I'd love to see explored more than it has been so far. I'd actually be running two different campaigns that interact with each other, based on the following situation. The current Revolutionary Council is doing their best to maintain stability, but they're dealing with various plots to undermine their stability. The Gray Gardeners are doing their best to keep order, but do not answer directly to them, and have been acting more and more brutal in punishing dissenters, which has only made the public more unhappy.
The first group would be either members of the Revolutionary Council or their aides, attempting to deal with these problems that come with being the leaders of Galt.
The other group would be a group of rebels, people once working with the government but who were betrayed by the Gardeners and attacked. Those who escaped are now living in a small village outside of Isarn(the capital), and are organizing their resistance against the current government. They have no idea whether or not the Gardeners were working on the orders of the Revolutionary Council, but the leaders believe that they were.
I feel like this gives a potential for nearly every alignment and build to get selected, and it'll be interesting to see how both groups interact with each other. On the other hand, because of the nature of a game like this, it'd likely be slower than average because we'd at time need to be waiting for the other group to hit a certain point, so that's something to keep in mind.

Idea 2:
This would be a more traditional campaign, but in a world that's more dramatically altered from Golarion. Although the setting would be mainly the same, the countries and history would be changed. You would start as adventurers on a small island off the coast of the main country. The theme is of a slightly greek island, and the mainland is slightly more italian-themed than Golarion, but in general it should be a fairly familiar setting. First you will have to earn a commission to travel to the mainland, where you will be agents of the king himself. Without revealing too many details, your exploits will include encounters with the underground thieves guilds that plague the capitol, battles with fearsome pirates and the intrusion of infernal forces. I've already written out at least the first few levels of this campaign, so this would probably be a little easier to run, but I understand that the different setting might turn some people off.

So I'm open to running either of these games if you guys are interested, but I probably don't have time at the moment to run both. Would anyone be interested in either of these, and if so, which one seems more fun and interesting to you?

Idea 1 sounds best if groups are kept relatively small but powerful.

Because of the difficulty of running 2 games at the same time, I'd probably keep the groups somewhere between 3-4 players each, and I'd prefer to start at second or third level since they'd be experienced at whatever they do to be where they are(either rebels or high-up aides to leaders).

I'd probably be more interested in Idea 1. I'd love to do a campaign in Galt - it'd be dark and disturbing, but I think it'd be awesome.

Just wanted to say that both of these ideas sound really great, and I love the enthusiasm you brought to both ideas. I kinda like the Idea of the Galt campaign a little more just because its an area I also wouldn't mind experiencing, but I have a feeling either idea will be popular.

I would love to see idea 1 play out.

Idea 1 seems interesting. Was in an evil campaign once that went to Galt. Stole something, can't remember once, but my character had the idea to release the souls from one of the guillotines the Grey Gardners use buy using one to break another. It was glorious. And I'd love to have a chance to repeat this amazing feat.

I'm loving the sound of Idea 1, we could get into a lot of shenanigans against another party.

Both ideas are great, have to say 2 interests me a bit more. I really like the idea of a Mediterranean setting for an adventure.

Sczarni

I love idea 1.

Silver Crusade

Both are cool, I'd play in either, however my vote has two go towards 2.

Only because 1 seems like a game that could quickly patter out.

I'd absolutely love to play in the first game.

This alias is actually playing in a similar game, but with Taldor. (Lords of Taldor, Ascending Majesty).

I would most likely want to play as the Revolutionary Council.

Character Idea:
Probably a follower of Norgorber, swept up in the revolution on the orders of his god.
There are a lot of ways this whole deal could end, and Norgorber has his fingers pushing it the way he desires.
And what better way to do so than place an agent of such in the "government"?

Hey,

Is this a play-by-post? If so, I'd definitely be interested.

I have Trapper, a Dwarf Rogue who is investigating his family lineage, which has led him from the Five Kings Mountains to Absalom, and then on to Sandpoint, where his forebears were victims of an "unspeakable evil."

He was part of the family that raised my message board avatar: Keith the Thief of the Night, who is a Ranger and a private investigator.

I've played in two PBP games here: Sinister Secret of Sandpoint, and We Be Goblins. Both fizzled out after 3 months.

I am an *old* D&D guy, with roots back in the original LBBs + supplements (Greyhawk, Blackmoor, etc,) and tons of experience as a 1E DM.

I've GM'ed Pathfinder Beginner Box games for my son, but it's been a challenge with only one GM and one player.

I love Golarian and would welcome the chance to play.

Both ideas above sound great. A campaign in Galt appeals to the history geek in me, whereas an island-hopping campaign sounds cool and mysterious. I think idea # 2 might work better long term.

Again, if this isn't PBP, I'm outta luck, but if so I'd appreciate consideration.

Thanks,
Keith

I have created an alias named "Bane of Giants" on the off-chance that he might be a good candidate for either adventure idea. He's a 2nd-level Ranger.

Again, if this is not PBP I would not be able to do it; however, if it is I'll be able to post 2-3 times per day.

Okay, thank you guys so much for your input! I think I'm going to open up the recruitment for the first idea, so when I do, I'll put the links in this thread as well.

Sczarni

Awesome. Can't wait to see your post.

Same here... thanks!

Ah! Yes! I had hoped you'd pick that one.

Will be eagerly awaiting the recruitment post.
