level 2, free archetype or ancestral paragon. We are about to start chapter three. Progress has been pretty slow.
A level in a month doesnt sound slow. :)
Without too much detail and I'm not familiar wthh the setting yet, would an old dwarf, reincarnated/menhir savant/leyweaver druid without wild shape nor animal companion work? He is more citizen/natural healer/civilized doom sayer than 'monstrous beatstick'
Originally created for carrion croen so kinda heavy on undead, but with only change of traits and healing hands feat he can become powerful healer, without being overpowered in melee (he is old old, like 200 years old)

Quick rundown of the PCs from one of the players. We are all level 2.
I'm playing Phang Kwan, a Justice Champion w/ Marshall archetype.
We also have:
* Tanuki Bard w/ Blessed One archetype
* Sylph Air Kineticist (unsure on FA choice)
* Aiuvarian Outwit Ranger w/ Cleric Dedication
Since we lost our cleric, a primary healer is the biggest gap but we do have a good amount of secondary healing in the party.

Evening!
I have a great interest in playing Season of Ghosts as a player (before eventually GMing it live). If you would consider bringing me on, I would be very grateful!
As it turns out, I have a character I built for a recent game that crumbled before it made its way out of the prologue.
I have a catfolk life-oracle/blessed one dedication who would strongly check the healer box and can function as a face (but contribute little in terms of combat) if you would consider his addition to the party.
Overall, he is a quiet personality... an herbalist pilgrim seeking to care well for those around him.

Around here you really shouldn’t. PF1e games (however modified) are still the norm. A PF2e game is as rare as hen’s teeth these days, and thus your mistake was easily made. It seems the PbP community on these forums are rusted on tight to their ol’ system.
You should give it a go. It’s a little different, and not any more perfect than PF1e, but it might be fun…

I should also add, I would be willing to play a different character if there is another fit or need (with there already being a Bard covering face/support).
Animist would fit well for setting and out of combat healing - though I have another animist in another AP and love variety where I could find it.
Other options that I think could play out well: Druid or warpriest.
If you think there is enough secondary healing for the party to survive, I think there might be a role for a secondary striker (Magus of Thief) but that would reduce overall healing.

I played it to level 10.
Found it interesting especially skill feats, but they are too magical, and the magic is underwhelming, and progress is too fixed...I played 4e too, also to paragon level, I don't give up without trying seriously.
So, informed decision to prefer 1e ;)

Definitely a unique character and we don’t have something like that, I’d be worried such a character would end up leaving the player bored without being able to contribute in combat. I have a knowledge cleric in another game I’m in that I’m struggling to enjoy because I find little use of him in combat and the game has turned out to be 90% a dungeon crawl lol.
That said season of ghosts definitely has a lot of out of combat role play opportunities and i wouldn’t say is anywhere close to a dungeon crawl.

So, a peak behind the curtain with this life oracle.
I am playing a life-oracle in a module (level 11-13) at a RL table, and I have LOVED playing him. That is actually the biggest reason I wanted to restart the concept across a full/long running campaign to build that experience more.
I think it will take a few levels for him to really feel useful, with the biggest step being 10->11 (a ways off, I know) where his life link focus spell covers 3 people and he optimizes his battle medicine.
Essentially, I played that other Life Oracle as a straight HP sponge. It is not as viable post remaster, but I was able to make it function pretty well. He was constantly taking damage from the rest of the team and then having a lot of optimized self-healing. It was a lot of fun trying to manage HP as a resource to expend/utilize during combat sand it really challenged me as a player.
But, in that module he was also the primary face, so he had the opportunity to contribute a lot to the RP. If there is a really strong/established face then I think this character (as I see him) might be too quiet/passive to "fight" for the CHA based skills and interactions.
Life oracle does have access to spells, and I leaned support and some damage dealing with them. That isn't to say that he never did damage, but often only did 1 attack related spell a combat- but he has some "big damage" things available when needed. Again, at higher levels though. He also did a LOT of intimidation, Bon Mot, etc. He played significantly different than a straight heal bot.
I guess its up to GM and team to decide if that style of play would fit in this campaign or this group. He was original built to play in a Kingsmaker game that never got off the ground. Some people are talking about trying to resurrect that under a different GM. If that happens, he could always go there and I would be happy to play something else here (if you would have me, ofc)
Ok. Thats a lot of typing for a simple question! Sorry!
| Ren Yexiang |
I've advanced Ren to 2nd level in Pathbuilder2e. The link to Pathbuilder2e on Ren's profile sheet goes to Ren at 2nd level. I haven't updated the profile sheet though. She biggest difference between the profile sheet and Pathbuilder aside from the extra level and archetype is a switch from +2 INT to +2 CHA instead.
I went with the Medic archetype assuming more healing options would be a good thing. However, if healing is well taken care of without the addition of Medic, I would probably change Ren's archetype to Acrobat.
Ren is a Thief racket Rogue, but she isn't meant to be a thief per se. Willowshore seems on the small side for that sort of thing to be a sustainable long-term profession. She has pilfered things in the past when she needed to, but really what she is meant to be is someone who has done some of this and that over time and along the way developed a wide-ranging set of skills. She has her father's old sword, which I'll refer to as a jian but that's just fluff. It's a short sword.
She does have a fairly detailed background, which could be a problem to mesh with a game already underway. But if changes to her background would be needed for her to fit I'd be happy to make them.
