About Keith the Thief
Gruff and solitary, Keith the Thief is a reformed rogue who has become almost hermit-like in the Five Kings Mountains, residing in an abandoned stone house on the edge of a virgin forest.
While a thief working the seedy docks on Absalom, Keith stumbled up a trading shop full of herbs, extracts, potions and powders that awoke him to a new world that had lain beyond his grasp. So enamored was he with this alchemy lab that he "borrowed" several potions, whereupon he was captured by the guard to be put on trial. The night before the trail started, a white ape got loose from a trading ship that had just sailed in from the Mwangi Expanse. The beast tore its way through the guard barracks, giving Keith a chance to escape.
Finding the alchemy lab that he knew, just knew, was his life's calling made Keith rethink his life. He used his few remaining silver for passage to Andoran and then made his way to the Five Kings Mountains.
It was there that he worked for a Dwarf mining company, saving his money so that he could work on potions and extracts. He finally bought an abandoned stone house at the edge of an ancient forest, and began pursuing alchemy full time.
He learned to speak fluent Dwarfish over the years, and ingratiated himself to the Dwarves of the Five Kings Mountains by brewing the best ales and beers for miles around. The Dwarves, in turn, respect his privacy and, honestly, his gruff, no-nonsense nature.
It is only in the dead of night, when Keith has managed to concoct a new alchemy bomb or healing ointment that he comes out of seclusion, cackling wildly when the moon is full.
