I've got another game where we're going to be playing different animal races that might have came into existence through some wizard.
I'm wanting to do a deer race myself, a witch or some other arcane spell caster.
Only problem is I have a hard time designing a race through the race system that isn't too heavily focused on my class I want to do or one that is the complete opposite.
So far I've got
Flexible (+2 Dex, +2 Wis)
Fast +10 movement speed
Gore Attack
for four points together. I can use up to 30 points for racial things, but if I get too high, the GM is going to use LA to balance us out a bit.

If you made it a deer for an arcane caster, why the +2 Wis?
Also, maybe some bonuses to Acrobatics/Know (nature)?
Mostly because I'm trying to avoid making it the perfect race for the class myself. However that doesn't mean I don't want a +2 to int or Cha. Its my main dilemma with all of it.
Perhaps I should just make it the perfect race?

It'll be a bi-pedal deer. Here's one of the pictures I found Witch Deer
I was expecting something more like this with less drinking the blood of the innocent.

For most animal races, I tend to go with Wis for the mental stat. It just seems appropriate (for "cute" animals like rabbits I might go Cha, for reptiles I might go Int). Just my take.
30 RP is way too much.
Cervine
Humanoid 0 rp
Medium 0 rp
+2 Dex, +2 Wis Flexible 2 rp
Common, Sylvan Standard 0 rp
+2 Acrobatics, +2 Perception Skilled x2 4 rp
Jumper always consider to have a running start to jump 2 rp
Sprinter +10 to movement with charge, run, or withdraw actions 1 rp
Antlers 1d6 gore attack 1 rp
Lowlight Vision 1 rp
11 rp total

would Standard work as well for the ability scores? and how about Darkvision (60ft) instead of Lowlight Vision?

Would Standard work as well for the ability scores?
If I were to assign a racial stat penalty to Deerpeople, it would probably go to constitution if you intended the concept to be closer to whitetailed and red deer. Otherwise, I'd probably have to go with charisma out of a lack of other available places to put it that would fit a race equally meant to represent both moose and pudú traits.

ok and now that I think about it. the penalty for the stats could be for sub or variants of the Deerfolk.
Flexible stats = standard Deerfolk [like the Sika Deer in Japan]
-2 Con = Whitetail & Red Deer subraces
-2 Cha = Moose, Elk, Pudu subraces

Maybe a kobold-sized key deer subrace (Small, additional -2 Str, +2 Dex)?
that is a very nice idea there that you have. i can actually imagine it right now.
