How to smuggle large weapons in a modern themed game

Advice

Hello everyone.

So I may be playing in a modern setting campaign (i.e. Think Dresden, but with pathfinder rules.) and one of my concepts would use a two-handed weapon. Thing is, people carrying around Dorn Duergar, Tetsubos and Great Swords are likely to get arrested real quick. Therefore, I'm looking for advice on how one could reliably and consistently smuggle such style weapons around.

One option is to give the weapons the Called ability, and somehow keep it within 100ft of you. Duffle bag, guitar bag, might do. However, carrying those around everywhere might get suspicious for enemies and if possible I'd like to hide the weapon from people who might rummage through my stuff. In case bodyguards check me over and stuff like that.

So how would you sneak around you semi-medieval weapons in today's world, if magic were available to you?

Note: 6th lv. wealth, preferably only a bit of it used to make this happen.

I can't think of a single two-handed weapon that's believably concealable. Wield a one-hander two-handed?

I'd buy/make/steal a Handy Haversack and keep my big things in there. Perhaps make it look like a typical student backpack, or a lady's large purse. Requires only a Move action to draw! I have a PC who stores his polearm in one, and gosh is that ever convenient!

Larger heavy weapons may require larger extra-dimensional spaces.

Alternatively buy a Sheath of Bladestealth. Works as long as their is no invis detection and you always have your weapon at your side/on your back.

Definitely liking the Haversack and Bladesheath ideas. If I go with a large non-sword weapon, I'll have to see if my DM will allow a small alteration to the bladesheath and make it for the style of weapon he'd use.

Thanks everyone.

"Violin" case or "tuba" case. Bonus points for being able to play the type of instrument.

Shrink Item.

Gloves of Storing.

Scarab Sages

A Transformative weapon, that is in the form of a hiking pole (quarter staff) for walking around.

Edit: Or better yet, a large whip. Carrying a coiled whip around may give you some odd looks, but it won't be seen as a weapon.

What about large bribes?

Custom spell that turns weapons into tattoos?

Improvised weapons if your GM allows enchantment of such things.
Then just be "that annoying bike guy who never leaves it behind" or "over achieving musician who carries a guitar" Or ask for a custom glove that provides it's enchantments to whatever improvised weapon you wield. and just snag whatevers around you at the time.
Kudos on the bike if you can ride it, and ride down on someone as a charge attac though.

Stay in states/areas that allow carrying? I know of a few states in the us at least that you could get away with a sheathed big weapon. but you'l be found right quick if there is a big weapon erlated murder.

Would a Hat of disguise cover this?

Lots of good options, some I'll have to speak with my DM about. I was actually originally going to go the DEX martial style and pick a sword cane, looking all debonaire and whatnot, but with this particular type of character, I don't have a lot I can invest in DEX. There are however options on getting STR up. So, these ideas help quite a bit.

I quite like the magical tattoo idea, but it'd have to be someone with actual spell-spells doing it for the character, not what I'm playing... at least in this particular version. Which the DM might be fine with. Could even just make it a custom weapon enchantment. +1 Silversheen Tetsubo of Ink. Owner can turn the weapon into a tattoo and as a swift action the tattoo disappears and pops into their hands. A move (or standard action) to make it a tattoo again.

Transformative is interesting. As you suggest it'd have to be something two-handed that could be considered a weapon.

Gloves of storing are quite valid. As is shrink item. I'd consider an instrument case, but carrying those around all the time would eventually be seen as suspicious, "I hear he brings his tuba with him everywhere... and I mean everywhere."

EDIT: Also found the Glamered ability which could do nicely.

They're expensive, but I like Gloves of Storing for this kind of purpose. Free weapon storage plus, essentially, free Quickdraw. It's tough to beat that.

You need the coat that the McCleods wear in the various Highlander movies/TV shows. You could easily hide a 2 handed sword under your arm while riding a motorcycle past vigilant police officers and crowds of onlookers in one of those coats. The magic of TV editing and willing suspension of disbelief is more powerful than mere mortal magic :)

Yeah in a modern themed game "Lord of War" type bribes to corrupt officials is incredibly thematic. "On the custom form put down... 'agricultural equipment'"

Pathfinder pouch is good. 10 pound limit, which I believe covers most of the 2h weapons, some might need special materials. Also doubles as a hide away in case someone searches you.

Course, then you have a fanny pack, your choice...

You just need an illusion to make the weapons look obviously plastic.... then you just claim your LARPing if stopped by the cops.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

get that weapon glammered so it actually looks like a guitar in your guitar case. bonus points if it's a battle axe.

Well, you could have a spear that is cleverly concealed as a flag pole.

Then you would just be the weird guy transporting a flag around. For a once or twice kind of thing where you are just passing through an area, people might think you are carrying something for an office or something.

Whatever method you use, make sure you've got a way of hiding it again after. If you think people would get worried about someone carrying around a greataxe, imagine what they'd think if you were carrying around a greataxe dripping blood and gore.

One of the many uses of prestidigitation.

Bladed belt.
Not only does your weapon turn into a belt for storage and stealth, it is also every single slashing or piercing weapon as a single item. Need a stilletto? Pike? Greatsword? Morningstar?
Plus you can enchant it like a normal masterwork weapon.

The travelers anytool is also an excellent investment for the sort of game you might be playing. Being able to carry around a crowbar, pulley, shovel or pick. All disguised as a rod you can easily finesse into a walking stick
I'd buy two.
