Finnius Aldain wrote:Look Aldain, you may be right about the distracting part, holds out flask as an offer , but I also have on occasion read a book or two, particularly about maps and animals and so forth. I also think I might start reading some more poetry. You shure seem like a handy fellow to keep around, and I would appreciate you helping Nili with her wizard training. It seems pretty important to her. I'll try to stay out of the way sometimes.Nili'Merithas wrote:I've certainly garnered some use out of my knowledge of magical devices. While not able of casting spells myself, I am training in the arcane arts. Hopefully with more time in the field, I'll be able to conjure up some form of magic that doesn't come out of a stick.I do not know if you are aware or not but I follow Nethys, the God of Magic. There are quite a few tomes I can suggest that will assist in learning magical formula and the proper way to structure a spell. You can find me in the Grand Library nearly anytime I'm not meditating or accomplishing tasks for the Venture Captains.
Nili'merithas I recommend you not bring Whiskey, he will no doubt distract you and you'll spend most of the time cavorting in the shadows.
I will pass on the drink, it dulls the mind. I can easily generate a list of books I believe you would benefit greatly from. Perhaps a book that focuses on overcoming challenges and managing ones flaws.
Disappears for several minutes and returns with a small stack of books, to an empty table.
Oh, I should have seen that coming. He really is a clever devil.

Half Elf Cleric.
Well, I've been pretty hype about the fluff from Inner Sea Gods. A good a time as any to bring it into PFS. Not sure of I should go Shelyn with a reach build or Iomide Glory/Sun who REALLY hates undead.
Maybe something entirely different.
It's pretty sad that you can only use the fluff from the book. That's one of my favorite books because it mechanical stuff for almost everyone ^_^. BUT it's also one of the best lore books.

Mmmmhmm. That's why I called out the fluff. But yeah, time to go down the list of gods and see what I can build that's really thematic for each deity.

Should've done this before my first core scenario, ah well.
Your destiny is:
Class: Rogue
Race: Human
That would be a skillmonkey to the max and fairly useless in combat (probably longspear to avoid being in easy reach)
Str 13
Dex 14
Con 12
Int 18
Wis 08
Cha 12
Skillpoints total:
8 rogue, 4 intelligence, 1 human, 1 favored class = 14.
Feats:
Rogue 1: Persuasive (+2 diplomacy & intimidate)
Human bonus: Magical Aptitude (+2 spellcraft and use magic device)
Traits:
Ancient Historian (Knowledge: History as class skill, with +1 bonus and Thassilonian language) Scarab Sage campaign trait
Classically schooled (Spellcraft as class skill, with +1 bonus) Basic magic trait.
Skills:
Acrobatics (Dex), 1 rank, 2 dex, 3 class = +6
Appraise (Int), 1 rank, 4 int, 3 class = +8
Diplomacy (Cha), 1 rank, 1 cha, 3 class, 2 feat = +7
Disable Device (Dex), 1 rank, 2 dex, 3 class = +6
Disguise (Cha), 1 rank, 1 cha, 3 class = +5
Escape Artist (Dex), 1 rank, 2 dex, 3 class = +6
Intimidate (Cha), 1 rank, 1 cha, 3 class, 2 feat = +7
Knowledge (history) (Int), 1 rank, 4 int, 3 class, 1 trait = +9
Knowledge (local) (Int), 1 rank, 4 int, 3 class = +8
Linguistics (Int), 1 rank, 4 int, 3 class = +8
Perception (Wis), 1 rank, -1 wis, 3 class = +3
Spellcraft (Int), 1 rank, 4 int, 3 class, 2 feat, 1 trait = +11
Stealth (Dex), 1 rank, 2 dex, 3 class = +6
Use Magic Device (Cha), 1 rank, 1 cha, 3 class, 2 feat = +7
At rogue level 2: minor magic trick for detect magic so that spellcraft can actually be used usefully besides finding out what spell is cast :P

This could be...complicated.
There are several PrC's in the Core rulebook they are allowed in core by being in the correct resource (though Assassin is still not legal by virtue of requiring an evil alignment)

Half-Orc Barbarian.
And thus was born Raymondo the Barber-Surgeon, field medic of the Order of the Scrolls. He travels the length and breadth of Golarion at the behest of the Society, setting bones, pulling teeth, shaving beards, and cutting hair. And if a prospective patient balks at the idea of having a troublesome molar extracted, or trembles at the prospect of a very close shave, well, sometimes they simply must be held down and shown what's good for them.

Core campaign challengeThe idea is to get a race and a character and make a Core Campaign character as a challenge to play society.
We are using it at my local group to enjoy something different.
A Halfling Wizard you say...I can do that.

I'm talking as part of the Core Challenge, that is, not Core Campaign itself.

Man, you too?
Yeah. Probably not taking the challenge for my first Core PC, as I had already joined a campaign which is going ot do a Season 0/1 run-up to Eyes with the correct scenarios as background. ;)
Might be my second, although there will be differences, since PHB Halfling Rogue is a different kettle of fish,. in some ways, from the CRB Halfling Rogue...
