Just to update people with the current stats...
I'm currently showing 19 people interested in getting at least one Plunder Die, with five of those interested in getting more than 1. I think that will solidly put us into the range of ordering 30 dice. If we make it to 40, we'll actually order 50, because the price per die comes down by $1 each, making the total price of the order exactly the same for 40 or 50 dice.
If you're interested in getting one of these awesome dice for $8, please fill out the form!

I'll take two. :-)
Please order the plunder dice (each 8 USD plus shipping) using cartmanbeck's google list.
Free christmas gift: Premium playmat
Tough Xmas quiz: See page 3 and 4. (page 5 is the quiz solution).
Edit: print the premium playmat on 300g/m2 paper, playmat height should be 216mm for optimal 600dpi print.

Already put my name in at the link upthread. Do I need to do something else?
300 g/m2? How does that convert to US usage, which would (I think) be pounds per ream (500 sheets)? Also 216 mm is about 8.5 inches, so I'm guessing this is *not* the thickness of the paper as I first thought. :-)
If these mats are square, they'll fit on a standard sheet of paper (8.5"x11"), so I just need to figure out how heavy the sheets should be.
I have the mats from UltraPro - they're on some kind of foam rubber, not paper. Or maybe it is paper, glued to foam rubber. Don't have them here, they're at a friend's house, so I can't check.

300 g/m2 is about the same as 110lb bond paper (that is the weight system where standard paper weight is 20lb). That is what you'd usually see labeled "index card" weight. But I'd think anything at or above 80lb would be fine.
For something with heavy graphics, you also want to be concerned with a few other things about the paper. The finish in particular would be something to pay attention to, as you'd probably want to avoid vellum, which is rather common in heavier papers.
This is a fantastic 80lb paper that is extremely brilliant and smooth. It would only be about 200g/m2.
110lb paper would come closer to 300 g/m2, but you'll be hard pressed to find something as bright and smooth in that weight.
Toshiba Business sells a paper they call AquaAce to companies for use with Toshiba copiers. (Here is an Austrailain brochure about it, but it is available in the US too. I just can't find a brochure in the US.) It is a decent weight, but the amazaing thing about it is that, while it can be printed on, it is water resistant. You can use wet erase markers on it, grease pens, all kinds of things, and they just wipe off. I've made some playmats for PACG and printed them on it. They have a nice little bit of gloss and are very durable. If you can get access to something like that, I recommend it.
Another thing you could think of doing is printing it on the best looking paper you could find at 60lb or so, and then gluing it to chipboard. A glue stick like this wouldn't make 60lb paper "wet" but would still provide enough adhesion to make a permanent bond.
The Ultra Pro mats are basically printed like mousepads. There are a few places that you could have print you a custom playmat/mouse pad, but they would tend to be pretty expensive, probably $20+ per playmat. You could also do it yourself using two products like this:
Craft foam pad
Fabric sheets
You'll want glue like this. Combined, you'd be looking at about $6 per playmat.

I go to a copy shop which prints my PREMIUM PLAYMATS on a 300g/m2 thick paper and the playmat height is adjusted to 216mm. The resulting printing is slightly bigger than you can achieve at home on a DIN A4/Letter-sized printer. You need DIN A3 paper preferrably.
So lets also throw in some German CANDY:
Here you have a paper conversion calculator:
Go to Paper thickness.
It is sooo simple :-) convert g/m2 to pounds.
216mm playmat height is exactly 8.6 inch which i print here in Germany on a DIN A3 paper format Or in USA named "Tabloid".
See here
Go to Paper size format.
Well, and you should use the printer resolution 600dpi. I print with my special personal files at my copy shop at 1200dpi - amazingly sharp prints ... I love them...
Any further questions?
The playmat designer answers you every question there is.

Thank you for the numerous emails of feedback...
--> Questions and PREMIUM PLAYMAT improved.
Here is Version 3, hopefully the final one.
So far 80 downloads ...
Merry Christmas...

The playmat looks great, excellent job myfly! I do tend to think the surface of the "mouse pad" cloth type Ultra Pro mats are preferable as they make picking up the cards and just general feel a superior experience to a heavy paper. Plus they roll up / store nicely being rubber-backed, as well as staying put on the table due to being "grippy".

You should enclose an abreviation explanation for foreigners...
Smdh is?

Why ducks? Do you like birds?

Thanks... Coth is may be not the right medium to print on as you are required to check some boxes ... In this way you have the playmat for one use only. I did it with RotR, but NOW i improved everything to a great extent ;-) the magic words are reusable and *******.
You may guess ...

Sorry! I forget that we are a truly international community and American text abbreviations sometimes don't translate.
smh/smdh = shaking my head/shaking my d@mn head
I appreciate your enthusiasm for a plunder dice and sincerely applaud all the work that you've done to put one together, market the need for it, and get folks excited about it. I just don't see the need for it (beyond the "rule of cool" of course.) which makes me shake my head in a little bit of wonder, curiosity, and a smidgen of exasperation.
And birds are okay, I suppose. I do love a good Chinese Fried Duck!

Alright guys, we're ALMOST ready to put in the order. I'm waiting on e-mail responses from four people:
Anoirtrou
Terrence Teng
Ron Lundeen
Orbis Orboros
Can the four of you e-mail me at cartmanbeck@gmail.com with your full shipping addresses and how many of the dice you're ordering? As soon as I hear back from these four, we'll be putting in the order, and once I receive the dice, I'll ask people to Paypal me the amount owed before I ship to them.

Only missing replies from two people, both of which said on the sheet that they only wanted one dice, so I'm going ahead with the order. I still need full mailing addresses from these three people:
Anoirtrou
Terrence Teng
Orbis Orboros
The total number of dice that people have requested (including myself and Myfly) comes to 47, so we'll likely be ordering 50 of them. The price to have them made will be $200 USD plus shipping to me, so please make sure to Paypal me the amount owed when it comes time, as this is a significant cost to eat upfront. I'm super excited to make this happen, though!

You should have the full address in my email. I think the formatting simply hid it thinking it was my signature.

Is it too late to hop on and grab 2 of the unspoken for dice?
Thanks!

I wanted to thank you again for doing this! If you need the money upfront just let me know...I am sure others would send it as well...$8-$10 upfront per die is nothing compared to the larger sum you are fronting...
Thanks,
Tim

LOL @ Ron
Myfly and I are working on putting the order together for final submission. Since we're across the earth from each other it's going a bit slowly, and Myfly just had a major life event as well (I'll let him tell the world if he wishes). So, I'm hoping to have the order all put in next week.

OK guys ...
The design files are sent to the die manufacturer, right now.
I got a rough ride in the last few days and weeks...
I got twins - two boys on last Tuesday. So the pathfinder communtiy is growing rapidly ;-) Hopefully, PACG is still available when my boys are in the right age to play it.
PS: Have to go back to the hospital to see them.

The dice order has been put in and paid for! I'll let you guys know when I have an estimate on when the dice will arrive, and at that point I'll ask for your PayPal payments for the dice. Exciting!
Those who did NOT put in an order yet and might still be interested, after I distribute the dice to all the people who ordered, I'll let you all know if there are extras!
