A half orc woman whose beauty burns the very air around her replies, “The mantis are not a threat to be concerned about. Our mistress is and will remain safe. The assassins will be stopped and all details about what set them on this path will be ripped from their fragile minds. Then we begin the work of dealing with the true problems, those who set this in motion.”
She smiles wickedly as raven black wings spring forth from her shoulders and the fires of hell dance within her eyes.
Signifer Maya Dza'Thrune of the Order of the Scourge
I love the new ability for VCs to post as characters! Woot!

An expensively dressed lady, who is chillingly beautiful adds, "If members of our society can stop them from getting Grandmaster Torch, then there is nothing for Zarta to worry about. The mantis and their benefactors on the other hand . . ."
The smile that she gives, would if given by anyone else look friendly and warm, but from her, it makes the idea of an arctic swim seem warm.
You begin to wonder if she is indeed human.

[OOC Every spare coin my Hell Knight Signifier has gotten since the betrayal has been used to the goal of finding a way to make himself powerful enough to take her down or pay someone to do it]
The man wearing the Blank Mask, the black mask merely nods, "That being so ladies, I have documents of arrest as well as writs of permission to bring he back to trail dead or alive. It is only a matter of time before the traitoress sits before Asmodius. She signed the contract to make sure Cheliax's interests were looked after, she has failed in upholding that contract. My name I was given upon rising to the rank of Paravicar is Signus Dark Mask of the Godclaw, I am a loyal clerik of Asmodius and will do my best to uphold the contract given me. My fellow "adventurers" have agreed to help me in my quest."
Laying down the paperwork the man moves back into the shadows his flail swaying against his blacked mythral armor, while his mythral tower shield seems to float beside him.

A skinny, almost hunch-backed, greasy-haired Signifer speaks up from the corner of the room. On his right hand there is a weeping, sore looking tattoo of a red pentagram.
Zarta is not necessary and... like all unnecessary things... will meet with an end not of her choosing.
Thus is the will of Asmodeus.
It is a shame that Tancred spun so wildly out of the circles that the Desimire family had built up. He had such potential. If he retained the course perhaps the issue of Zarta would have been done away with once and for all.
I would not fret on the issue.
This new position that Zarta has built for herself is to merely be the pawn of the Decemvirate. She is under the thumbs of the Ten. She has no agency, no freedom. Merely a songbird in an iron cage being sent deep, deep underground.
That said, if there were to be a... reassociation... of power for the Dark Archive, you could count me among the number for removing Miz Dralneen from her station.

She steps gracefully forward and picks up the paperwork.
Quickly scanning it, "This changes a few things."
Putting the papers down, she continues, "I'd personally would like to see the original contract of hers, lawyer." She pauses apologetically, but quickly adds, "Not that I'm her defense council, or in any way trying to obstruct the law. Just ensure it is followed. I also find it interesting that you imply that Prince of Darkness follows Cheliax's law. His law is above that."
Turning to Signifer Randolf, "I like my songbirds in cages deep underground, it's nice to hear them sing while I work, and I like to take them out to play with, every now and then.
Now if there is adequate . . proof, that dear Zarta is no longer required in her current station, I may be of assistance."
She turns and walks to be near Maya.

I doubt the veracity of the document. The bearer is an obvious knave and concocts whatever poison dujour against our fair Zarta.
Was it not this rabble calling for her replacement in her time of need. Yes, I recall your glee at the time. Yet it turned to ash as she came through as I predicted.
We happy few loyalists remain, burned in the fire and stronger than before. She is beyond your reach. Yet even if you by chance alone succeed, then in your moment of glory, I will happily steal her back from hell's heart again.

Signifer Maya Dza'Thrune of the Order of the Scourge is an incredibly beautiful half orc woman. Maya is known to be one of the Society's most highly skilled diplomats / interrogators (both above +40).
Maya’s smile brightens the room, “So Darth Signus have you done your research and read the contract in question? Contracts have terms, limits, and conditions. We also know that documents can be forged or do you truly believe all of the notes that you so conveniently find laying around that explain everything so very conveniently? What is it that you truly want and what do you hope to accomplish? I would suggest that you think very carefully about your answer because sometimes you can get exactly what you bargain for."
She pauses waiting for a reply and in that moment it is as if nothing else exists for her other than Signus as she shifts ever so slightly closer towards Anastaysa.

Maya raises an eyebrow at Darth Signus's continued silence and wonders how long it will take him to compose himself enough for a reply.

A handsome young man in livery of a Chelaxian house enters,
"I present to you Marquise d'Railford Lady Jasmine Henderthane, Favored of House Thrune, Respected by the Nail, Hellknight of the Order of the Chain, Lion Blade of Taldor, Leidang of the Ulfen Gaurd, Honored by the Twilight Talons, Eagle Knight of Andoran, Student of Scrolls, Savior of the Master of Blades, Scholar of the Gates Ajar, The Evenhanded Investigator, Captor of Tancred Desmire and The Spider, Bearer of a Mendevian Commendation, Hero of the Five Kings, Exemplar of Falcon's Hallow, Hero of the Fey, Commander of Fangwood Keep, Honorable Member of the Order of the Cocktrice, and the Pathfinder Society."
A beautiful Chelaxian woman with fiery red hair and striking emerald green eyes enters behind the young man. She is wearing deep red Hellknight armor when she enters. Her bronze shield is stylized with a magnificent lion's head. She dismisses the man in the livery with a wave of her hand.
"Ah, while I no longer work for Zarta Dralneen, primarily due to her no longer working for Cheliax, I don't feel that she did anything to betray her country of origin. Trancred Desmire led Cheliax into betraying Zarta, through the use of falsified documents. You should probably be able to question him, as I am fairly certain Zarta would keep him around to torment after I delivered him to her loving embrace. I would gladly stand by the members of Zarta's Dark Archive to protect her if any Red Mantis came after her, but I doubt that it will be necessary as Her Infernal Magistrix surly realizes the truth of the matter. Please feel free to contact me should your mistress's health be at risk."

Bring on these Red Mantis. None shall hunt my town, nor seek their squabbles here. Begone from Absolom, petty fiends, or taste the light of redemption from my blade. This Town, and those who dwell here are protected, and we care naught for your politics. If you wish to grow Chelaxian power, fight demons in the world wound or some other useful task.

Stealth with Invisibility and Forced Quiet: 1d20 + 75 ⇒ (19) + 75 = 94
A disembodied, rather high and sharp voice drifts into the room from somewhere. The sound is slightly muffled, as if hampered by magic, but the words are still clear enough to be understood.
"Man, I am kind of regretting leaving the Sczarni for this group. You guys are a bunch of pompous lawbook-huggers. And don't seem too smart, either."

Without looking away from Darth Signus's still silent form Maya replies to Escadriel,
"Your approval or understanding is not required, only your obedience. If following direction, maintaining protocols, or remembering the reason why we are here are in any way problematic to you I would suggest you leave before this work becomes the death of you."

The voice has an amused tone to it as it replies, ending its little speech with a chuckle.
"I get my work done, lady. Might not be according to all the protocols or exactly as ordered, but I get it done. And it's been the death of me already, and my partner's too. Had to watch them die in front of my eyes. But I got them back.
As for the reason I'm here? This was more interesting than stacking coins in al'Hakam's coffers. An archive that calls itself dark? The Rat Lady's favored child's got to be there."

A tall taldane woman of dark and grim bearing, dressed in regal court dress, strides in with a trio of man servants bearing a trio of chests. She bears the holy symbol of Pharasma on a worked chain of platinum over her court dress of burgundy and black.
"I brought you something Signus..." She purrs as she points for the men to put their cargo at the man's feet. "I fear your.. hirelings weren't up to the task at hand. The Paracountess' reach is further than yours, and she called in favors through out the society."
Baroness Del Noire opens the first chest to show a trio of heads, still in the mantle of Achaekek's servants, before turning back to look at the other Pathfinder with a smile.
"She does hope you only paid in coin, not favors, to the follows of He who walks in blood." She continued as she turned to walk away, the men opening the door for her as she left. "And my suggestion.. if you don't have the courage to do the work yourself.. don't play the game of thrones against your betters.."
With that the Venture Captain departs.
