I have to share this. It was too awesome.
Okay, so with summer winding down and my son's Pathfinder game winding down before he goes off to college for the first time I thought I would treat his group to a little fun. I pulled out We be Goblins! and ran the boys through it to introduce them all to the Pathfinder Society.
They had a blast and loved the scenario; but I think my son broke it. He picked Poog to play, the cleric of Zarongel. Now as most people that have played WBG know, Poog has the worst ride checks of all the goblins. So what does Poog do? He wins the Ride Squealy Norg game; just to serve his god. Good job Poog.
Then, after all the goblin heroes have won all the goblin games and gathered all the equipment that Chief Gutwad will give them the 5 players head off into the swamps on their mission. Since we have an extra player the boys decide to play with a second Chuffy; the two Chuffy players call themselves the Chuff brothers.
As the party is wandering through the swamps arguing about the best way to the X on the map they wander into the layer of Lotslegs Eats Goblin Babies Many. The Chuff brothers spot the spider trying to sneak up on them and duck into the brush to hide. Rita Bigbad, remembering what the chief told them, turns and runs back out of the layer. Poog examines navel lint as Lotslegs sneaks down to try to ambush the remaining PCs. Just before Lotslegs can attack, the Chuff brothers jump out and try to stab her (missing horribly) and Lotslegs tries to snatch Poog up.
Lotslegs does succeed in hitting Poog, who saves vs the poison. Poog them does something I don't think I have ever seen in a PFS event. He jumps up excitedly and begins to talk to the spider. Yep, Poog can talk to animals, and he decides to try and befriend the spider. After much negotiating, cajoling, and pickled hafling toes Poog is riding his new best friend to find fireworks and take over the Licktoad tribe.
The boys want to keep playing these character. Next week, We Be Goblins Too. (They're kind of sad that they can't keep the spider; but I'm sure that they will love the owlbear eggs.)
