Do me a favor. Look at the title of this thread now read this sentence:
How has this not happened yet???
Now look back at the title. Then read this next sentence:
SERIOUSLY, HOW HAS THIS NOT HAPPENED YET?!?
Okay, okay, all joking aside-
HOW HAS-
No, no, really, I'm done now.
So, I get that Paizo isn't the richest company (though they've probably made a fat stack off of this chump, let me tell you. Money well spent), but they are well invested. If Magic the Gathering gets a movie (seriously bad idea, Hollywood. Don't do it), and D&D got a movie (an awful movie, but nonetheless), then Pathfinder should get one too!
I say that some Pathfinders, myself included, get together on a forum or something and start writing a screenplay. It doesn't have to be spectacular, just student film worthy. We can put it up on Youtube, maybe make it a series. Then, we can start up a Kickstarter. If the public outlook is positive, I might be able to turn a concept into an actual movie. I have relatives in the biz.
So, what do you think? Do you have any skills in writing or such?
Thanks Guys!

Did they actually make such a movie? If not, why would it be a bad idea? The M:TG novels are really good, so anything based on those couldn't be that bad. On the other hand, the D&D movie has shown us that you can easily take a great background with lots of good stories already written and just write a crappy story based on that background.

It's not a thing yet, but it will be. I didn't know there are MtG books, but I do love the card game. I just think that you can't really turn that into a Movie. Sure, there's the planeswalker games, but... can you really make that a movie.
I think a Pathfinder movie would be much cooler, because with D&D, you just had to create your own stories, but with Pathfinder, there's a whole campaign setting in Golarion, which I think would be an awesome series.Maybe base it off the sunstone. Have a group who's trying to become gods by beating the Sunstone challenge, but they have to get stronger first.

Yes, because Greyhawk, the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Ravenloft, Planescape, Spelljammer, Dark Sun, Birthright, Eberron, Mystara, and probably a dozen others didn't actually exist, AMIRITE?

I want to you look carefully at this line....
This is exactly why Hollywood will not do a movie even remotely similar because it made no money. It was bashed by the critics.
Now Hollywood can't admit to themselves they just made a bad movie...no to them it just is not a popular idea. The same reason is why a female super hero movie is so tough to get made.

Why it hasn't happened yet?
- Making a movie costs money.
- There has to be a profit in it for any competent movie making company.
- Selling the rights to a Pathfinder movie might be the dumbest thing you could do. If you don't believe me look at the D&D movies. The owner of the rights is just popping out bad sequels every 5 years just to keep his rights. You don't want that to happen.
- The people at Paizo already have a job.

If they did do a movie then they could probably base the characters off of the class iconics. That way it remains true to at least that part of its source material and would make it more recognizable to any newcomers the movie had brought in.
"Hey, that's that barbarian women from the movie, she's awesome! I'd like to play a game as her!"

The bad D&D movies every 5 years is a contractual agreement and not a rule to every licensing deal.
