And I've got to make sure they boy gets packed up for his camping trip with the scouts this weekend. We meet over at the church by about 5:45 pm this evening. It'll be a bit quicker departure, because they don't bring the troop trailer on this trip. Since this is a big event at the campground, all the cooking is done for them. So all they need to bring is the troop tents and their own stuff.

Technically, I'm already working. It's work via text, however, so there's not much for me to actually do, and I can take it with me.
I did wake up with a headache, however. It might be due to starting with my cholesterol medicine again. Or it might be due to the rain. Time, and some self experimentation, will tell.

The dog chased a squirrel out in the backyard. So she needed to be cleaned off with one of the spare towels she hasn't yet chewed. Emphasis on yet.
The wife and I were discussing the dog's anti-Sciuridae tendency, with the wife explaining it as being the reason she can't leave the blinds open during the day. The dog would see the squirrels outside, invading her backyard, and go a&+#%!%.
My mother's chihuahua used to do the same thing, only she was the same size as, and often smaller than, the targets of her ire.

I don't recall if I mentioned it, but my supervisor asked me to get my PE license in Kentucky. Apparently, we're going to be bidding on some jobs there. So they need to get the firm licensed, which means an engineer has to be licensed.
Thankfully, this one seems to be easy. Just fill out an application, pay the application fee ($300), and have your NCEES record transmitted.

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!
My computer key-board is broken. Not any of the keys themselves, or its basic functionality. NO! That'd be too easy. Instead, it's one of the little stand pieces on bottom. A small corner of the plastic that keeps it locked open broke off. So now that little stand closes if you hit the keyboard in the wrong way, throwing the whole thing off balance.

And now the boy is back home, safe and (relatively) sound. One of the adult leaders mentioned seeing my brother there....a lot. He said every time he turned around it seemed there my brother was. In my brother's defense, he was one of the people in charge. So if they hadn't seen much of him, I'd think something had been wrong.

As for the work week itself, I'm not sure how it will go. I had two major projects. One of them is pretty much done (issued for construction). The other is kind of stalled but will hopefully get moving soon. I finished all my PE personal development hours, so no training to charge to my timesheet.
Hopefully, something else will drop soon.

The pork butt I smoked yesterday was, of course, delicious. Along with some baked potatoes (air fried, actually), it made a nice meal.
And the wife told me she's going to do the red beans and rice today, instead of the usual pork chops. So all will be right in the world - red beans and rice on Monday.

The hydrotests I witnessed on Saturday went well. Initially there was only supposed to be one. Then a test being conducted on Friday had to be rescheduled for Saturday when they had a valve start leaking.
Technically, I wasn't on the clock for either one of them. Since it isn't a lot of work, I didn't mind. And it kept the client happy.

On the other hand...
Yesterday was a boring day at work, with not much to do. I don't expect today to be any different. And the reason I'm taking a half day is to go to the GI doctor. That's an appointment I made about a month ago. So the immediate reason doesn't much apply anymore, but there are still some underlying issues I'd like to discuss with him.
And even though there's no meeting tonight, I won't get much rest after work. The boy has a meeting for his school trip to D.C. at spring break. The wife will be taking him to that, so I have to take my daughter to art class, then pick her up once it's done.

Then later in the evening, I found a text from an annoying coworker asking me if I had left for the day. This was around 4 in the afternoon, and the text had been sent shortly after 1 pm. I didn't bother to answer it, but I did check my email and see the same guy had sent me some stuff that was "hot".
It's hot stuff for a client rep I really don't like, so even though I'm already at the office that crap can wait until 7 am when I officially start on the clock.
