F-ing f-d up thyroid. The f-ing gift that keeps on giving.
Anyway, so this morning I go into Scoutbook to put together a PO for the ranks and merit badges scouts have earned since last Court of Honor, only to find some dumbass has already put together a PO without telling me.
Probably that damned outgoing Scoutmaster. It'd be just like him to pull that kind of stunt.
That's one of several reasons I'm glad he's outgoing.
Anyway, at least the boy is excited about the camping trip. Or at least he seems to be.
Oh, and I've got computer issues here at work that are preventing me from moving forward with a project.
Stoopid software.
Ugh. It’s been a super busy last 24 hours. With more to come.
Lots of stuff going on at work. With my supervisor being out of the office at a site visit, that doesn’t make it any easier.
I still had to leave early yesterday. Had some errands to run before I went off to an Eagle Board of Review (which was successfull). Didn’t get home until almost 7 pm. Then I ate dinner and spent a bit relaxing with a book.
Today it’s more busy office. And later this evening I’ve got to take the boy shopping for campout food, since he was named grub master.
And we’ll have to wash a load of clothes.
Traffic sucked this morning. Lots of stupid people.
And then we had internet issues here in the office for the first few hours of the work day.
Hey, though! I did get an email saying I’m now a licensed professional engineer in Louisiana.
Now I just have to wait on New Mexico.
Oh, before I forget, Happy Thursday!
I did start playing the new expansion for D4, but only for about 15 minutes.
Ugh! Why do they keep sending questions about controls to a not-controls engineer?
I know why, of course, but it still annoys the piss out of me.
Yesterday was, as predicted, another super busy day.
Work was jam packed. Then I got home, did some minor chores, ate dinner and let it settle a bit.
Around 6 pm, the boy and I went to do the shopping for his campout. Since I was trying to focus him on spending within a budget, we took our time. Adding prices and such to make sure we stayed within the dollar amount. So we didn't get back home until after 7:30.
Then I just read some more until bed time.
This morning, I couldn't get back to sleep after taking my medicine, so I played a bit of D4. Not very impressed with the new expansion pack so far.
Now it's work from home Friday, with plenty to do.
Later tonight, after work and dinner, the boy and I have to go over to the church for a gear check before the campout. That should be fun.
Tomorrow morning, we'll be back at the church before 6 am. It's roughly a 10 hour drive for them to Big Bend. Not counting stops along the way.
Until then, however, I've got plenty to keep me busy.
I did, however, get an email that New Mexico had received my PE license application. So then I paid to have a copy of my NCEES record transmitted to them. Hopefully, by sometime next week I'll be licensed in New Mexico as well.
Aahhh....I feel a bit less heavy now.
The boy did not go on his camping trip to Big Bend. His cough got progressively worse over the course of a day or so. The wife took him to a clinic last night and he has tonsillitis. So we thought it best to keep him home.
Which perhaps might have been a small stroke of luck. One of the trucks in the caravan was rear ended on the trip.
Then I stayed up too late last night. And got up at my usual time this morning, but did not go back to sleep like usual.
So I’ll be tired most of the day.
I got in and out of the grocery store today, though. Without too much hassle. So that was cool.
And now that my out of house errands are done, I can concentrate on my in house errands. Emptying, then refilling the dishwasher. Starting loads of clothes washing. Paying bills. Plus a few more I’m sure I can’t recall.
Especially now that lunch had been devoured.
Aaarrrggghhh!!!! Nearly foiled in my dish washing attempt. I’ve got space for one more item. And nothing appropriate to fill it with. Until after I drink my afternoon cup of coffee, that is.
On a sillier note, I have to disagree with the young lady at the comic book store on the status of the word “skank” as a cuss word. I don’t think it is. It might not be a nice word, but not a cuss word.
Okay…..close enough for coffee time.
Oh, lovely.
Someone got a replacement for her damaged phone, but never sent the old phone back to the company. So now I had another $239 added to my phone bill for the month.
Damned idiot.

Also, Happy 249th Birthday to the U. S. Navy!
A bit of sad news, though. There was a kid who used to go to school with my boy. He and his family had moved to Florida. One of my boy’s other classmates heard the kid was killed in Hurricane Milton.
Watched The Thing last night. The John Carpenter version, of course. Such a great movie. One of my favorites.
Today should be a nice, quiet Sunday. The only things I have to do are some clothes washing and smoking turkey breasts for dinner.
Of course, the whole turkey breasts thing is an event unto itself.
Tonight, perhaps I’ll watch something involving Vincent Price. I’ve got two new Blu-ray’s with his stuff.
Regarding my previous post…..Nix that. Tonight is a new episode of The Penguin. Sweet.
What’s not so sweet….now the wife had to bring my baby girl to the clinic. She’s having different problems than her brother, though. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.
Of course, that throws a monkey wrench into dinner plans. That’s life, though. I’ll recalibrate.
Meanwhile, I was going to jump on the computer and do a bit of mapping. Captain Tonsils was on there, however, probably spreading his filthy germs all over my mouse and keyboard.
What a punk.
Also, Happy Columbus Day!!!
