I've begun to think this thread I post in is kind of the equivalent of a rubber room.
Anyway, I made more progress in BG3 last night. Getting closer to the end of Act 2. Currently running through the Gauntlet of Shar.
I never really liked Shar all that much. It seemed to me, for a few years, they tried to overdo it with her. Much the same way they keep overdoing it with Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul.
And, from what I've been reading recently, it seems like they really went overboard with all that Chosen stuff. Seems like every god in FR had one.

As much as I like Forgotten Realms, and know more about it, I still would rather see Greyhawk as the main setting.
Or at least get more love.
Although, considering the state of modern entertainment, maybe it's a good thing Greyhawk gets ignored.
Anyway, moving along in BG3. Whupped the poop out of some poor Kuo-Toa last night, just before journeying into the Grand Mausoleum.
Then, when I was down in the Gauntlet of Shar, I came across these fights where you have to take out these weird orbs that are spawning the undead you fight.
Figured that one out after I got overwhelmed just trying to slaughter the undead.
I also made sure to finish exploring all the Shadowlands except Moonrise Towers. Came across more of those plant a-holes. Whupped the poop out of them as well.
And I really thought a Cloaker would be a tougher fight. We spotted him before could start, and I was able to get the drop on him. Hit him with two eldritch blasts, then because he was suprised, I was able to hit him with two more.
After that, he just kept hissing and roaring at us while we picked him apart.
Still, the highlight of the evening was having my rogue roll a twenty (which is exactly what he needed to roll) to open a DC 30 lock.
Found out my brother started to play as well. So maybe we'll have to get a party going.
And.....now it's time to do engineering stuff. More like bookkeeping half the time
At least it is Friday. Which means two glorious days of not coming to work.
Although...one of the co-workers I'm closest to being friends with is speaking to me again. Not sure what kind of bug was up his ass last week.
Yesterday, he and I went to lunch, since neither of us had brought any. I had never had Cane's before, so we went there. It was adequate.
I mean, let's face it. It's kind of hard to screw up chicken tenders.
Not impossible, just hard.
And this weekend I've got to see about making sure my sprinkler system isn't still leaking. I took care of at least one spot. At Least I hope I did.
It was a crack right under the handle of one of the isolation valves. I had some putty type sealant I used on Wednesday. I wanted to give the area time to dry out before I checked again.
Granted, the leak wasn't that bad. Still, a leak is a leak. Over time, it's the kind of thing that would get worse.
A decent day at work yesterday, although I still had to bring a bit home with me.
Then I stayed up too late playing BG3.
And was up early playing again. Took about three hours to beat the entrance hall to Moonrise Towers. Damn that was a crazy fight.
But I finally used that Iron Flask I found in Act 1. Threw it in through the doors and unleashed a spectator on the bad guys.
That got me started late to my usual routine, but caught up eventually.
Now, if I have my way, I’ll be inside the rest of the day. It’s nearly time for my afternoon coffee.
First, it’s time to get the kids’ laundry started.
And maybe after that I’ll do a bit of reading.
Introduced the boy to Blade last night, via the awesome Wesley Snipes movie from ‘98. Had to rent it, because I couldn’t find my DVD copies, and apparently never bought it on Blu-ray.
So that was me taking a break from BG3 after yesterday morning’s time sink.
I was back on this morning, however. Had to do a short reset when I managed to somehow turn the Harpers against me. I think we might have accidentally killed one of them who got in the way of a AoE spell.
I recall Harper’s being smarter.
The ones we’ve been fighting along side have tended to be brave, but stupid.
It’s one of the only downsides I’ve found to CRPGs like this. In mass combat your “allies” often tend to just get in the way.
The bad guys, however, seem to play it much smarter.
Anyway, just finished up some yard work about 15 minutes ago. Now I’m trying to recover for a bit, before eating lunch and getting a shower.
Then it’s more clothes to wash. And maybe some reading.
It ended up being more BG3. Both in the afternoon and following dinner. I ended up finishing Act 2, though.
So now....ON TO BALDUR'S GATE!
That, sadly, will have to wait until after work.
The drive in this morning was pretty decent until I got close to the interstate. Then it got a little crowded with stupid people.
Now I'm sitting in the office, baking. It always sucks to wait for the AC to catch up.
I forgot to mention.....they had to fire a dude in my group last Friday. He got aggressive with some ladies from accounting and human resources. That was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
He had been aggressive with other people in our group in the past. At least twice that I can recall.
It's gonna make it really awkward if I see him the grocery store.
