Still, I was kind of hoping the universe would throw me a bone this weekend and somehow Godzilla Minus One would be made available here in the States.
Alas...I must wait a little longer.
I believe it's Free Comic Book Day today. As I recall, I added a free book being offered by the folks doing the new Conan series. It is also a Conan book.
The only bummer part about it is the comic book store will be crowded. And that increases the chance of small humans.
The small humans stifle my voice.
On the up side, the chances of me offending some pansy will go higher.
And there's also the chance I could bring joy to someone. That's acceptable.
Have I mentioned it's been a busy morning so far. There was the usual get up early to take my medicine and take the dog out potty. Then, whilst enjoying my three cups of coffee, I did my usual perusing of social media, made a grocery list, and checked a drawing package for work.
That last was just to be nice. Since I don't get paid overtime.
Did the same thing yesterday after I got home from work.
Now it's time for more of the usual. Shower & shave. Dry Cleaners. Grocery store. Comic book store.
This afternoon I'll have to smoke some chicken (for the gumbo).
And somewhere up in all that I'll probably do a load of laundry or three. And maybe try to clean up outside where the storms scattered all my new mulch in the driveway.
Might get the boy to help with that last part.
Yesterday I bought myself a gift - Captain America #117. First appearance of The Falcon.
And I had a few beers last night! First alcohol in over a year.
Of course, that makes this morning a bit rough.
But there’s bacon to be cooked!!
And later today there’s gumbo to be cooked!!!
Yesterday I smoked the chicken for the gumbo. And I think I finally need to get some new grill racks for my smoker. The two I have are looking a bit ragged.
I’ve had that smoker for almost 10 years now. And it still runs like a champ.
I was going to get outside with the boy and do some yard work this morning. Mother Nature had other plans. More rain.
It’s only supposed to last until a bit later today. Then they’re predicting a week of sunshine. Huzzah.
There was no bacon cooked this morning. My wife and daughter had conspired to do birthday donuts. So I got to eat 20 munchkins instead.
There will, however, still be gumbo.
And my wife bought me wireless ear buds for listening to my phone.
Well, yesterday ended on a somewhat crappy note - a $400+ bill to fix the tub faucet handle my kids broke.
And then I find out this morning the great Bernard Hill passed away on my day.
Not to mention, I also found out one of my old fraternity brothers lost his mom on my day. That sucks balls.
Anyway, I'm back in the office now. Got my new sign up the boy gave me as a gift. It reads:
"Beware of....Well....Just Beware."
Apparently, he thought this was fitting for me. Clearly, I've taught him well.
My poor baby girl. She tried to make me a little box using the skills she's learned in her pottery class. It wasn't turning out the way she wanted, which made her very sad. So she made me a little paper hear with "Love you dad" on it.
I have that up in my cubicle as well, right next to her other paintings she made for me.
Had to take a break to greet people. There was much news to spread to all the people who were wimps and let the weather keep them from coming in on Friday.
And I had to show off some of my Me Day gifts.
On the other hand, pulling out of my subdivision onto the main road, there were a bunch of cars coming. I managed to get out ahead of them all, however, which lead to a quite pleasant drive to work.
Except for right near the end, when I was taking the u-turn under the overpass. Some little wuss right in front of me decided to take the same u-turn very slowly.
On the other, other hand, this is going to be another busy beginning of the week for me. Sunday was busy because....ME DAY. Monday was work, then as troop committee meeting in the evening. Today is work and a regular troop meeting in the evening. Tomorrow is work (form home at least) and an Eagle Board of Review in the evening.
Hopefully, I'll get to slow down a bit on Thursday.
In the evening, at least.
The wife and I are nearly done with the available episodes of Superman and Lois. Just one more episode to go. It's a shame they didn't try to get more Lex Luthor into it. The greatest Superman villain. His archnemesis, and you reduce him to 2 episodes. Seriously?!?
Plus, it's kind of a waste of a good actor.
They did the same thing with that Titans show. Wasted a great actor on just a few episodes as Lex Luthor.
Almost time to make the donuts.
Busy morning already. I had a ton of emails waiting for me, most of which were just of the "reply all" variety.
There were a handful that required attention, however.
And now I'm in the first meeting of the day.
Just on a different computer.
After work today, I've got another Eagle Board of Review. That should be fun.
And now that the wife and have finished the available episodes of Superman and Lois, I don't know what to watch.
