I had an easy drive in, but it was raining.
I was somewhat busy to start, but it’s already slacking off. So chances are it’s going to be a long day…
And I’ve got a drawing to review that, for some stupid reason, is sideways and cannot be rotated. So that’s super annoying.
Better than yesterday, however, when I couldn’t even get the drawing to open.
Also, I brought some stuff for lunch, but it’s not very good. So maybe I’ll try to go somewhere instead. We’ll see.
The only problem with going somewhere for lunch is I’ll most likely lose my parking space.
Boss brought in donuts.
Mmmmm…….

At least one of them also became part of lunch.
And we think our garbage disposal finally crapped out. It’s been threatening to for a few weeks now.
Which makes it a good time to also get a new kitchen faucet. That piece of crap has been malfunctioning for months now.
The other sucktastic part about this (probably brief) return of cold weather……I was really hoping to give the dog a bath this weekend.
And this week is my kids’ Spring Break. We are, of course, doing nothing.
New supervisor picked a crappy time to be out of the office. I need his company credit card to order my PDH courses. I still need 10 hours for my PE License renewal.
Luckily, I’ve got until the end of March. And the courses don’t actually take too long.
Still, I need to get it done sooner rather than later. I’d hate to have to pay for it myself because (a) it’s not really worth it unless someone else is paying for it, and (b) it’s expensive.
Time for another cup of coffee…..
Huzzah! I fixed the garbage disposal. So we don’t need a new one.
I still bought a new kitchen faucet, though. The old one has been messed up for awhile now, and it’s easier to just replace it.
I’ll get the boy to help me replace it tomorrow. Until then, it’s laundry time.
I don’t feel like replacing the kitchen faucet today. So all I did was get under the sink and tighten the old one down a bit, since it had come very loose.
After that experience, I’m now debating whether I want to just have a plumber do it. My poor back would certainly thank me.
Probably not worth the money I’d have to spend.
Anyway, I’ve got the second load of laundry in the wash. After that is done, I’ll finish filling the dishwasher and get it going. After that, I’ll get some turkey breasts in the smoker.
While I’m waiting, however, I’ll have some coffee and do a little reading.
My kids' teachers are on spring break this week, so I don't have to get them up all week. Combine that with this being a not-GI medicine day, and I got to leave the house earlier than usual
Which, of course, meant a gloriously easy drive to work. The traffic gods were smiling on me. I didn't catch a single traffic light!!
Which also meant I got to work about a half hour earlier than usual. That's okay, though. It's nice and quiet when no one else is around.
The only bad thing is the heat in the building is going full blast this morning. And it's not really that cold outside (low 50s maybe), so that makes it really warm in the building.
And with the kids being home all week, this might be a good time to not do Work from Home Wednesday.
The boy left an empty Italian Ice cup on my computer desk at home. I found it this morning. Along with all the stickiness. So I cleaned off my desk, but the cup, its lid, and the spoon he used over by his place at the dinner table and left a note saying he can't use my computer today.
It's after 7 am now, so folks should start arriving in the next 10-15 minutes.
I expect a lot of chaos here at work over the next week or two. I'm 95% certain this is my former supervisor's last week. He's leaving us for a new job. And he's been over in Australia since last week. Not sure if he's coming back.
So between him possibly being out again this week, plus it being his last week, and he won't be here next week.....CHAOS!!!
I saw an article today which reminded me of another reason I don't do any real gaming anymore.
I don't think I'll ever understand how people can purposely drive away customers (especially ones with some disposable income).
Meh. No skin off my nose. Between my books, comic books, movie collection, and map making, I've got enough stuff to keep me occupied for the rest of my life. Even if it's a long "the rest of". And even if I never bought anything new ever gain.
Or watched any new movies or TV shows.
Or played any new video games.
Speaking of video games and TV....
I saw the trailer for that Fallout tv show on Amazon (I think). I never played the games, but I might give the show a chance.
It'll probably disappoint me, knowing Hollywood. Then again, Amazon can sometimes surprise me. Looking at you, Reacher Series.
Anyway, I'll go do other things now so someone can come along in a few minutes and post in another thread.
That's not saying I won't be back in here later today sometime. Depends on how slow and/or busy work is today.
Another early departure from home/arrival at work. Today’s drive was slightly less awesome than yesterday’s.
I think Big Jim is going to be back in the office today. That’s cool. He’s one of my morning buddies, and the only one in the group older than me.
I’ve got some forms to fill out for a client, but I really don’t want to start just yet.
Plus, the forms are on a Sharepoint. Which, until the client’s email yesterday evening, I knew nothing about.
