And my poor baby girl has been having trouble sleeping. It doesn’t help she’s got a bit of a cold. She was so miserable this morning the wife is keeping her home.
My morning posts have been a bit scattered across time this morning. Thanks to work.
Thank all that’s holy and unholy it’s Friday. This week hasn’t been too bad, but I’m still sick of it.
I’ve just got a bit more stuff to go through on this tedious bid proposal work my boss stuck me on. Then I’ll be free to move on to whatever the next crap job he has for me.
I let the boy watch Aliens for the first time last night. The extended edition, of course. He enjoyed it.
Tonight I might introduce him to Predator.
The boy was not feeling up to watching a movie last night. So...no Predator. Oh well, maybe next week.

I don't think we can have nice things (especially in entertainment) anymore. People support crap. Sometimes it's for misguided reasons. Occasionally, but I think increasingly, its out of pure spite. Within the past year, I have seen examples of both expressed in posts here.
Sad, but sadly not surprising.
Hey, though! At least I've still got my collection of stuff. I've just got to hope that in the future, when my blurays or other hard copies need replacing, I can find things unaltered. Which might prove a challenge.
Enough of that crap!
Today I've got to decide how to spend my time. I've been rereading LotR, and am almost finished Fellowship of the Ring. I can probably finish it today. Then I'd have to decide whether to move on to Two Towers, or perhaps jump to something else.
I could also keep working on my latest map. Already did a little of that this morning. So maybe I'll continue on with it.
Or, I could work on reading through that collection of Batman comics I picked up awhile back. I've still got a bunch of those issues to read through, then re-bag and board.
That's appealing, considering I didn't go to the comic book store this weekend, and don't have any new books to work through. That's only because I would have had one book this week, and didn't want to waste gas going out to the store just for that.
I find myself really not wanting to be at work today. There are times when I’m sick of this place and everyone in it.
Maybe I’m just in a bad mood.
Considering I was thinking this morning about how disappointing my son is, “bad mood” is understandable.
It’s not entirely his fault, however. I partly blame myself and the wife.
Man, whatever work they were doing on this site over the weekend really has things messed up.
It’s good to see (again) the rule’s apparently don’t apply to some people.
Tuesday. Why’d it have to be…..Tuesday.
My drive in was unusually easy.
Unusual for Tuesday, that is.
Some of my coworkers are going to lunch today. Interestingly enough I was invited. However, it’s going to be an Indian Buffett, so I’ll probably skip it. I don’t think my stomach is ready for that yet.
Aaaarrrrggggghhh!!!!!
My supervisor set up a Bluebeam reviews session for a vendor drawing. I opened it up, and the drawing is sideways. And due to the peculiarities of Bluebeam, it won’t let me rotate the image.
I say again……AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!
Long and tiring day. The kind that makes me really miss alcohol.
It’s going to be another long, tiring day. Especially considering I didn’t sleep well last night. Had a seriously bad headache and leg pain.
Pretty sure my wife and kids gave me the cold they’ve all been hit by. Hopefully, I’ll get hit less than the wife, at least. Hers turned into a nasty little sinus infection.
Ugh! Feel like dog poop from the cold my wife and child passed on to me. And the cough medicine I started taking is causing my stomach to be more upset than usual.
At least the drive in was super easy. Foggy, but super easy.
Long day again yesterday. I was at work an extra half hour helping to get a document out the door. We were hoping for more than just that, but time ran out on us.
And in honor of the late Carl Weathers, I watched Predator last night. He had one of the best death scenes in the movie.
Now it’s Saturday and I can relax.
Ha ha, just kidding.
I’ve got grocery shopping, laundry, dry cleaners, and probably a few other things I’m currently forgetting about.
In just a few short weeks, my boy will turn 13. Damn, I’m old.
Weather wise, yesterday started off rather crappy. By the afternoon, however, it was quite spectacular. Sunshine and in the low 70s. Driving the boy to get a haircut, I opened the sun roof.
Today we’re supposed to have more sunshine, but it’ll be a tiny bit cooler.

Parenting “achievement” unlocked: kid with a broken bone.
The boy was playing ball with his friends yesterday. He got tripped up, fell, and broke his arm. It’s a clean break. He’ll be in a soft cast for a week. Then he goes back for more X-rays and a hard cast. He’ll have to keep that on for about a month.
Twas another busy day yesterday. At least I got a lot accomplished.
The boy got through his first day of school with a broken arm. He said he’s looking forward to having people sign his hard cast.
I realized another downside to his injury, however. He was working on a month long fitness requirement for scouts. You had to exercise 5 days a week for four weeks. He was using PE as that exercise. Now he can’t do it. Which means he won’t be able to get earn another rank before the troop’s next Court of Honor.
Disappointing, but not surprising.
The boy seems determined not to rank up.
It makes me sad, but if he doesn’t want to take advantage of such a great opportunity, then more the fool him.
Happy Work from Home Wednesday!
I’ve got plenty to do. Most of it is very tedious. And a massive waste of my time.
It’s good to know the flagging system is no longer being paid attention to. At least, that’s the case for some people. I can speculate as to why…..
Stoopid dog ran out the house. So, of course, I had to go chase her down. Now she’s locked in her kennel as punishment. For a little while, anyway.
I really don’t want to get back to the tedious work. It really sucks. I figure I’ll take my time with it, making sure to prioritize everything else (since this is kind of a favor for some other folk whom I don’t know). With any luck, I wont finish it by when these a+$#~@%s need it.
Huzzah!
I ATE WACKY MONGOLIAN YESTERDAY!!!!
Mayhap (knock on wood) my long dietary nightmare is over. Or at least subdued for a time.
Anyway, now it’s back to the tedious work. There was, at least, a break in that work, while I backchecked a drawing package.
Godsdamned spammers. Can’t even get rid of them with a flag anymore.

Wednesday was the 50th anniversary of Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles. I hadn’t realized it at the time, so had to do my honorary watching of the movie last night instead.
Such a classic.
“Excuse me while I whip this out.”
Anyway, Happy Friday?!?
There’s a better than average chance.
Friday was tedious (as I expected), but altogether not too shabby.
I’m seeing lots of FB posts from my numerous acquaintances in New Orleans about Mardi Gras. Occasionally, I feel a twinge of sorrow that my children have never experienced it.
Then I recall that it takes place in the $&/@hole that is New Orleans, and the sorrow magically melts away.
The boy gets his hard cast on for his broken arm tomorrow.
