The plan for the troop had been to stay camping until tomorrow. Seeing as it’s probably not going to get too far above freezing today where the troop is, the scoutmaster had said they’re likely coming home early. If, for whatever stupid reason, they decided to try and stick it out, I’ll drive the 130 or so miles myself to bring my boy home.
Well, the boy survived his first cold weather camping trip. I don’t count the one from cub scouts where it only got down to the low 40s.
And my office, already under work from home Monday orders, has officially closed down. The office itself, anyway. I’m still working from home.
And the dog pooped all over the floor. So I made the boy get up and help me clean.
And our TV seems to have crapped out on us finally. Sucks. But it was something like 9-10 years old.
Still, it brings back memories of having a TV repairman come out to the house.
I do not like this cold. Even though it means I get to work from home for three days straight. Phone app says 18 degF, feels like 4 degF.
No f@&$ing thank you. I moved away from that $&@;hole Philthadelphia to get away from crappy weather like this.
And the lack of a TV doesn’t help either.
On the other hand, caught up on some reading last night. So there’s that.
Anyway, by tomorrow we’ll be back up into the 40s. And by Thursday we’re supposed to have a high around 70. So back to normal.
In the meantime….more coffee!!!!
Damn dog keeps wanting to go out and play. In freezing temperatures.
Another cold morning, but no wind to speak of, so it’s not as bad as yesterday.
And we’re supposed to get up into the 40s today. So huzzah!
Today is my normal work from home Wednesday, and the boss made it official anyway.
Bwahahahaha……
The small humans have to go back to school today!
Weather was actually slightly pleasant this morning. Not too cold. And I’m back in the office now.
And, knock on wood, I’m feeling pretty decent so far today. It’s…….unfamiliar.
Now if we could just get a new TV……
And if I could just feel comfortable enough to try Red Beans and Rice again….
Happy Friday?!?
That remains to be seen.
It might be paranoia, but I occasionally feel my bosses are planning to do away with me. There are days when they seem to be freezing me out of projects, possibly thinking they don’t need me anymore.
I hate that kind of stress.
Da fuq?!? Dude who cleans the office bathrooms is here. Now! Creepy f$&@er.
Anyway, this weekend it’s new TV time. Finally.
Well, as I suspected it would be, work is a wasteland of nothing important to do today. So I’m trying to stretch a vendor drawing review out as long as possible. Normally, this type of drawing would take maybe an hour to go though.
I should have just said I wasn’t feeling well and worked from home today. It would have saved me gas, as well as making it easier to slack off.
On the plus side, I’ve had time to come up with what I think is a pretty cool name for a magical society.
And I started to put together a Word document of different organizations for the campaign world I’ve built. Just for s@&ts and giggles.
Ugh! Rough afternoon at work, followed by a rough evening at home (all health related). Now I’m really looking forward to my follow up visit with the GI doctor.
It’s new comic day for me, though. So there’s that.
And, in theory, we’re going to get a new TV today. Huzzah!
Well, we at least BOUGHT our new TV today. It's going to have to be delivered, however. The one the wife wanted was too long to fit in my truck bed.
And….it’s already Sunday. Where did the weekend go?!?
I’ve got to try and make it over to Walmart today. I need a few more of those pink plastic bowls like the one I bought a week or so ago. The dog ate it.
Luckily, it was only 50 cents.
I might also finally cancel the backpack I ordered from REI. For one, it never arrived, having disappeared into the labyrinth that is the USPS. I wouldn’t be surprised if some postal employee stole it.
For another, the a**$!#%s at REI sent me an update email on the 19th. It contained the “updated” delivery date. Which just so happened to be the original delivery date as well.
Ugh!
I don’t know if it’s just the crappy weather, or the slight cold I’m probably developing, or just more of my ongoing GI issues, but I feel very run down this morning.
Thought I might feel a bit better once I got some coffee in me, but so far that’s not the case. I was supposed to leave the office early today for an appointment with my GI doctor, but now I’m thinking I might leave even earlier.
2 people marked this as a favorite.

Before I forget…..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Robert E. Howard!
So the GI doctor wants to test me again. To see if the antibiotic they gave me back at Christmas took care of the problem. I’m not so sure it did, but we’ll see…..
So…..back in the office now. At least there were fewer idiots on the road this morning. Yesterday, when it was raining, some jackass was going about 40 mph on the interstate. Damned idiot.
Work is going to be boring this week. The only time my boss seems to give me new work is when it’s crap work he’d rather not do.
At least I’m getting paid good money for it, though.
Speaking of money…..we get our new TV delivered today. So after more than a week without watching TV, I can catch up on a few things.
To be honest, I didn’t miss it much. Spent a lot of the time I’d normally be watching TV reading instead. I finished up The Silmarillion again. Then tore through The Hobbit (again), and now I’m on Fellowship of the Ring (again).
After that, I might go back and finish up the Harry Potter series again. I had left off finishing book 5.
A miserably rainy Work from Home Wednesday.
We’ve got our new TV, however. And I was finally able to watch both the finale of Reacher season 2, as well as the first few episodes of True Detective season 4.
Reacher was cool. Though a bit short, I thought.
True Detective was interesting. Seemed to harken back to season 1 a bit. Pretty good so far.
And my boy’s new camping backpack was finally delivered! Huzzah for the incompetent USPS.
The rain seems to finally be stopping. Thank the gods. It’s only been going on since Monday or so. It’ll take a few days for everything to dry out.
