The rest of her gifts were delivered by Amazon yesterday. Coincidentally, I checked the tracking when Amazon was about 2 stops away from the house. I was able to tell the boy to be on the lookout and get the box before his mother saw it.
And in another moment of sheet coincidence, the wife was out in the back yard with the dog when the package was delivered. Proving that, on occasion, the Universe smiles on me. Even if in some small way.

Finished a training module on the software I use. Started another, and this second one was in metric units! WTF?!? For a company whose product is global, you'd think they could create training videos for each country, and whatever measurement system they use.
I say this because most engineers who use that software will only ever use one system of measurement. Any training they take for it, is likely through work. And since the software appears to save the last measurement system used, it creates an inconvenience to change measurement systems like that. Especially since, near as I can tell, they don't make it easy to change measurement systems.

The other day I was perusing the YouTube. For some odd reason, a video popped up in my feed of a bunch of (what looked to be) 20-somethings reacting to the big opening sequence of Full Metal Jacket, where Hartman is so creatively addressing his new recruits.
Watching and listening to their reactions, I could totally understand the use of the phrase "snowflake". I have doubts those children could have survived the 80s with their sanity intact.
And I knew some Marines who served during the Vietnam era. According to them, some of the stuff from that first half of the film was pretty damned accurate.

The morning is starting off....kind of meh, though. I must have been really deep in sleep, because it took me a bit to get going this morning. And my allergies were acting up, so I was a bit snuffly. The drive to work was half-way decent though. Despite the worst intentions of a few idiots on the road.

What's more, a bunch of the electricals are going off to a vendor this morning. The PM on the only actual project I'm working at the moment will be out of the office. And my supervisor has been stuck at another client all week. So this morning should be extra quiet and peaceful.
Now, if only the big boss of our group and mechanical drafters could stay away.....

Last night I surfed through some of the streaming apps, looking for something to watch. I was also checking to see if any of the shows I'm expecting had started yet, because old man brain doesn't always remember the dates.
As fate would have it, I discovered the old Penny dreadful series had dropped on Amazon Prime. I loved that show back in the day, so started to watch it again. Such a great cast. And although the story got a little odd at times, I still enjoyed it.
It did go a bit too far with a few minor details, though.

I recall the first time around, in like episode 2 or 3, when the main characters visit the zoo. They are confronted by several wolves, and Josh Hartnett's character confronts the wolves and sends them on their way. Right then and there, I knew he was a werewolf.
It wasn't until much later, however, that I was surprised to find out his character's true name. That was a cool touch.

And I'm kicking myself in the butt. My comic shop has been having computer issues, so for the past few weeks, they've been asking box holders to send in lists of what they want on their pull list. I've been pretty good about sending it on Monday, but this week I totally forgot.
Until today, that is. So I sent the email this morning. Hopefully, it won't be a problem for them. I typically don't show up there until Saturday morning, anyway.

Cool. Vendor came by with food and goodies.
I don't give two craps about the food. Looks like breakfast tacos. No thanks. I choose life.
The goodies, however, are another matter. I snagged a pen and a plastic cup. Also grabbed a card-stock sheet with bolting and gasket data on one side, and standard pipe dimensions on the other. Sure, I already have that information from several sources, but you can never have too many ways to get the same information.
Lastly, he had one of those things where you have a card-stock sheet inside another card-stock frame, so that when you pull it through, and line up the slots, you get different information. This one is for weights and lengths on various pipe fittings (reducers, tees, elbows, etc). That was maybe the neatest thing.
