Stoopid car door. Stoopid electronics.

Scarab Sages

But at least I learned my lesson after the last time. In case of potential flames, keep the vehicle parked outside. That also means no parking garage.

Scarab Sages

And now I shall open my work email and see what other kind of shit the world has planned for me today.

Scarab Sages

Hmmmm....nothing bad yet?!? Something's definitely wrong.

Dark Archive

Don't tempt me, boy.

punches AZs day in the face

Yesterday turned out to be not too shabby. The problem with my trailblazer is being taken care of, and was a warranty/recall fix, so I don't get charged for the rental they gave me. And the rental is nice....brand new Tahoe, only 5000 or so miles.

The wife and I got all that taken care of early enough to go to the Alamo Draft House (a kind of movie theater/bar/restaurant), where we had lunch and saw the new Denzel Washington movie, the remake of the old Equalizer TV show. Movie was awesome and Denzel, as always, did not disappoint.

Later, after a late afternoon therapy session for my shoulder, it was pizza with the kids. During dinner, to top the day off, I read about James Earl Jones reprising his speaking role as Darth Vader for an extra scene to be added to a replay of the Star Wars: Rebels intro movie! SWEET!!!!!

Somewhere, up there, is a God who very much loves me and wants me to be happy. Proof?

(1) My previous post.
(2) Beer.
(3) Bacon.

That's all the proof I need. Eat shit atheists!

Scarab Sages

Was thinking of taking the kids to a pumpkin patch this weekend, but it's looking like rain.

Scarab Sages

One of the joys in life - my little princess saying "Da Da Da Da...".

Scarab Sages

That, and Baby Girl's smile.

Scarab Sages

Oops. Bad zombie! How dare I create gendered zones for my kids and enforce those crazy notions of biology?

Or whatever the crazies are calling it these days.

Scarab Sages

Actually, that may be insulting to crazy people.

Scarab Sages

Aaaaahhhh.....she's coming for the feet!!!!

Scarab Sages

I think someone's getting sleepy. Almost nap time.

kisses fists no need to thank me.

Lunch at Five Guys and a trip to the comic book store. A pretty decent day so far.

Silver Crusade

I had lunch at Popeyes. I thought you would like to know.

Scarab Sages

Awesome! Your life is truly blessed.

Scarab Sages

I must say, I'm surprised. Paizo is closed on Monday and none of the usual asswipes has started a flame thread.

Weird, but welcome.

But there's still the rest of the day, plus tomorrow. So I may very well be proven disappointed again.

Scarab Sages

Otherwise....looking like crappy weather today, so no taking the kids to the Pumpkin Patch. Bummer. Maybe next Sunday....

Scarab Sages

It can't be next Saturday. If memory serves me correctly, I'll be helping some original FAWTLY Folk move into their new house.

Scarab Sages

I look forward to interacting with some of my Brethren again.

Scarab Sages

Now, I must away to watch over the kidlets whilst the wifey gets her shower.

Scarab Sages

Well, today was......annoying.

Scarab Sages

Sadly, methinks that has potential to be the new normal.

Scarab Sages

F$*@ you Tuesday.

Scarab Sages

F#*+ you Wednesday!

Scarab Sages

Watched Flash again last night. I'm still fairly impressed. Tight, focused stories, not too much backscatter. That long-haired sidekick is still an annoying little girly-man, but he's starting to grow on me....like a fungus.

Loved the villain. And loved an appearance by Simon Stagg - he was always one of those douchebags in the DCU whom I loved to hate.

Also, HUZZAH! They put Iris on the road to being a journalist!

Another also - I've enjoyed Jesse L. Martin's acting ever since he was on Law and Order. He plays a great cop.

Scarab Sages

Agents of SHIELD was equally impressive. I'm really enjoying what they've been doing with Fitz. The dude's a really good actor.

Some of what they're doing with Coulson - not so much.

And I understand the need for recurring characters, but dang blast it - SHIELD would be popping caps in Hydra agents left and right, just to whittle down the competition. Stop with the damn ICERS already. So what if a particular villain or actor is popular. This is Hydra! There's always another baddie waiting in the wings, and Hollywood has no shortage of people willing to die on screen. Cut off one head, two more shall take its place!!!

If all goes well, I shall set some mead to fermenting again this Friday. I'll leave it go for at least nine months, maybe a year. At least I should have plenty to drink during that time.

Scarab Sages

Mmmmmm.....coffee.

Scarab Sages

Oh, hello there Thursday. So nice to see you again. You're looking sharp these days.

Scarab Sages

See what a good night's sleep can do?

I am giddy with excitement for the day ahead of me.

Scarab Sages

And, I have been enjoying dropping my kids off at daycare every morning. It's nice to spend that bit of my day's beginning with them.

That makes two of us.

Just have to get through work first.

Scarab Sages

Huzzah for Friday! Oh so Happy Friday!

Scarab Sages

I forgot to check what kind of yeast to use for the mead I want to make today. I was thinking I would use either the same kind as my last batch, or the same kind as when I made my spawn mead. Unless they're both the same.

Scarab Sages

Mayhaps I can get the wife to check my little notebook.

Scarab Sages

Success! I had her check my entire book for each mead I've ever done. Now it's just a matter of deciding which yeast I want to use.

Scarab Sages

Just remember - I love most of you.

Scarab Sages

A productive day - work, Homebrew store, lunch with the wife, brewed up some mead, went to a physical therapy session for my shoulder, and picked up the kidlets from daycare.

Scarab Sages

As of yesterday evening, the air lock on my mead was already bubbling. Just a few hours! Woot! And it was a fairly decent starting original gravity - so I have some encouragement that this could end up as a potent batch.

Scarab Sages

Watched X-Men: Days of Future Past last night On Demand. It was....ok. I wish there had been more Sentinel action.

Scarab Sages

And I wish the future sentinels had looked more like the Omega class sentinels from the comics. Or maybe like Nimrod - one of my favorite sentinels.

Scarab Sages

And the after credits scene? While I loved the chanting of En Sabah Nur, I hope they're going to make him look more like his comic book self.

Also, the four horsemen in the background was a nice touch.
