Magic item to see through Deeper Darkness

Rules Questions

I swear there was an item that was not Truesight goggles that could let you see through just Supernatural Darkness, does anyone know of an item, feat or way to see through Deeper Darkness since I can not seem to find it.

An Elixer of Darksight lets use see through deeper darkness if you have darkvision.

That will get expensive fast, I was looking for something like Lens of Fog-cutting or true sight Goggles but well, not that expensive. (As the truesight, Fog-cutting are n price range but they effect mists and obscurement.

Or ways to get See in Darkness Monster power also work.

A tiefling can get the see in darkness power by taking the feat Fiend Sight twice.

Yes, it is called Hand of Glory?

Hand of Glory only lets you use see invisibility and Daylight, along with having an extra ring slot.

Right Luecian - Daylight lets you see through darkness.

Not really, no. It can dispel the darkness, completely removing it. 1/day. Removing it completely and seeing through it are not the same thing.

'Rod of Shadows' gives you the 'see in darkness' ability.
'Tremor Boots' give tremorsense.

The Echolocation spell gives blindsight.
The spell Blood hound gives scent.
The spells Monstrous, Physique Beast Shape and Undead Anatomy all can give scent, blindsense, tremorsense
The spell Undead Anatomy can give you lifesense.

Make a custom magic Rod with a large gem on one end that casts Daylight whenever you press a button on the side.

It is a rather bizarre artefact (no. 2 of the google results) of the game that a level 4 heightened continual flame can dispel just about any normal or magical darkness effects. But this only works if you want an equal playing field. Gaining an advantage requires a different sort of cunning and possibly - bargain.

OK Jeraa - This is what is known as a distinction without a difference.

Continual flame heightened to a level 4 spell should do the trick nicely.

Very different, when facing creatures that can cast Deeper Darkness at will.

One might want to be able to see through the darkness while it still affects your enemies...

You seem to be mixing up "dispel" with "not be suppressed by".

Continual flame can dispel any darkness spell of equal or lower spell level; since deeper darkness is 3rd level, you don't need to heighten all the way to 4th, only to 3rd, in order to dispel DD.

But dispelling isn't even helpful in the first place if the enemy can use DD at will.

The thing that a 4th-level HCF is useful for is the fact that they still continue to raise the light level in the area of a magical darkness effect, per the line in darkness (recycled in its deeper cousin).

An item with heightened Continual Flame cast on it should do it.

Scarab Sages

Nightskin from the The Twice-Damned Prince Adventure Path.
Rod of Shadows from Ultimate Equipment.

Both gives the user the See in Darkness ability, which you can see in any darkness, including Deeper Darkness.

In what way?

Reverse engineering from the Elixir of Darksight the price for a see-in-deeper-darkness item would be 48 thousand gold. Admittedly that makes a large number of assumptions based on caster level and presumes the Elixir's ability is priced like a spell despite not actually copying a specific spell effect.

A rod of shadows is a bit more expensive but much better value with all its other abilities.

Also, custom items require DM approval.
