NPC Codex 2 & 3

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I wanted to make a request for:

NPC Codex 2: Write ups for all the base classes from Advanced Player's Guide.

NPC Codex 3: Write ups for all classes from the Advanced Class's Guide.

I really enjoy the quick NPCs and the suggested builds for the characters. It gives me insight into how to build the class and use them. Plus the art is usually stellar.

Just my 2 cents.

We could probably pack both those into one book. Since there are less Base classes and hybrid classes (which may just be Base classes now) than the original Core classes, and I'd rather have them sooner than later, one book for both!

I love the NPC Codex. Great book overall man, and it gives fantastic insight into ways you can build NPC's. An expansion and continuation of building that would be awesome.

Probably could add in content from Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic as well. I too like the way it shows the approach to building the characters. Maybe add some multi-class characters as well.

To be honest, given the maturity of the Pathfinder system at this point, the main thing of interest to me is more NPCs and monsters. The codex and bestiary books have a lot of value. And I love the high quality art of the Pathfinder line and these types of books have tons of art.

I don't really need more classes or different systems/subsystems after the ACG comes out.

Liberty's Edge

2 people marked this as a favorite.

There are 11 classes in the corebook. 10 in the APG, UC, and UM (including Samurai and Ninja), and 10 in the ACG. That's three books total, not two, and a solid idea. We'll probably even get them eventually, though it might be a while.

I'd prefer sooner rather than later, but whatevs. As long as it comes out man!

Don't forget that Occult Adventures is coming with 6 new classes.

I could see 2 more books though. They'll need to find new materials since the next books wouldn't have the equivalent of the NPC classes.

I also would like to see such books but i would like the NPCs to be a little more optimized.

The best thing about these codexes is the room they save in the adventure paths as well as the amazing art. I have hero labs I can throw an npc together in minutes, so I hope they make these soon with all the other classes.

you also have to account for the prestige classes in the APG, and for that matter having some NPCS with mythic tiers wouldn't also be that bad an idea.

Would love to have an NPC Codex covering the APG and ACG books! The NPC Codex, NPC Guide, Inner Sea NPC Codex and Monster Codex are my favorite and possibly most used resource books during a session.

One can never have enough NPCs.

20 statblocks for 11 classes = 220 blocks
10 statblocks for 5 NPC classes = 50 blocks
4 statblocks for 10 PrCs = 40 blocks
Total = 310 blocks

APG/UM/UC

20 statblocks for 10 classes = 200 blocks
4 statblocks for 8 PrCs = 32 blocks

~80 blocks to play with.

If they were set on filling them out, I'd suggest maybe 5-8 blocks for each Core class using a different archetype, preferably one that gets them some of the cooler abilities of the tradeoff.

Well, this is late, but my goodness do I love the NPC Codex!

Just finished making a dungeon. Lots of humanoid baddies and only one monster. "It's going to be a pain to stat everyone up" I thought to myself.

...NPC Codex, stat block pulled from Skull & Shackles, Inner Sea NPC Codex, NPC Codex, NPC Codex, NPC Codex, Gamemastery Guide, Bestiary 3, haunt pulled from Jade Regent, NPC Codex, NPC Codex again, and only ONE weird multiclassed foe that I actually had to stat up myself.

It would be absolutely amazing to have a couple of hundred more options for when I happen to need alchemists-on-demand or instant-investigators not to mention things like psychics and mediums (when the time comes for them), and maybe even a set of blocks for the new unchained versions of the old classes.

Silver Crusade

This would be a great set of products. I would buy them.

NPC Codex is great, but I probably wouldn't buy an APG/UM/UC one, and would not buy an ACG one.
