3.5 you could make a core CoDZilla. All the stuff after was icing. Wild shape and Divine Power in particular just made your martials moot and your still 9 level casting. Both of those things were toned down to keep it more leveled, but tbh the gap is still there and still pretty wide.

Monktopus is easy to shut down as a GM:

"You can't use FoB while Wild Shaped because you trained extensively to use that ability in Human(iod) form."

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Even simpler:

"No."

Scarab Sages

Monktopus doesn't use Flurry of blows.

One of the things I often see GMs forget is that wild shaping into an earth elemental may give you earth glide, but it does not give you tremorsense. You can be concealed from everything inside that stone wall, but you can't see or hear anything and you don't have line of effect unless you are sticking a fair amount of your body out of the wall/floor/ceiling. The abilities are very good, but there are drawbacks to a lot of things, that people often tend to forget and/or overlook.

Yes, but the druid cave domain does give you tremorsense. If you plan to be in earth glide a lot, it's easy to plan for it.
