Most regular forum readers won't have to work too hard to find the parts of the map I am referring to as the Emerald Prairie, Roseblood Mountain, Zombie Kitten Peaks, and Loincloth Pass.

What else is out there? It's time to name some /sit!!

Don't forget the mountains to the north. The Smelly Dwarf Socks.

What do we call the swamp in the NW with a bunch of goody-two shoes inhabiting it? Good Guy Grotto maybe?

I propose the mountain in the NE is Spice Mountain, due to the Bastard Sons' slogan.

Fields of Chaos? There is a great opportunity for something fun as you head W/SW out of the starter town.

Out to the northwest, you'll find a ring of badlands officially named after some dead explorer, but known to the locals as "Cayden's Bung".

I would like to call the slightly wedgeshaped funnel North of Thornkeep that is formed by the two Mountainranges (and their elevationbarriers), the North Corridor. Or North Passage.

It starts 5 hexes wide(right above the Mosswater Road)then, going North, narrows down all the way to 1 hex, locked in by the elevation barriers.

With Freevale? Dude that is Loincloth Pass.

I was also thinking of something like the Inevitable Plains in the SW and Riverway Plains to the north.

Given the size of the map planned just for the end of the EE, isn't calling anything North a bit preposterous ?

But at least it will be Northern than the North Coalition :D

The Chaotic Triangle

The elevation change leading up to zombie kitten mountain should be called dread lord pass.

Where caravans mysteriously disappear.

Unless they are, rather mysteriously, heading towards Callambea. It's very strange...

Yeah, it's funny how that happens.

Goblin Squad Member

Freak happenstance of nature, can't be helped.

The Sourmash Highlands?

We need a name for the small lake next to Z, the only water hexes on the starting map.

Has anyone else noticed that Hammerfall is going to have a fish monopoly? Should be some interesting mercantile opportunities there.

Is Dread Lord Pass the entrance by Thornkeep or the one by the Spire?

Is this map canon?

Those are actually marshland hexes and it's called Toad Lake in the Thornkeep book.

What CB said, those are Marshland/Swamp, and yes they will have an early monopoly on Fish. That wont be TOO big a deal however as the primary use for the resource is for Bulk Sale to NPC Settlements and Factions for income and DI. I'm willing to bet they will have some kind value edge over similar products as the supply will only have 1 location early on but it's value will only ever decrease at the game goes on, which is quite inverse to the Resource allotment for Stone and Metal from Mountain/Highland hexes.

Containing the monster-home Toad Hollow; it's almost as if there's a theme. I suspect landsharks.

I guess I am not the average reader... I get Emerald Prairie... but the rest I can't place.

Idk about the others but I'm pretty sure they are referring to the Highland Hexes near Brighthaven and AB as the Roseblood Mt. Range, although I'm pretty sure it actually already has a lore established name.

Goblin Squad Member

Zombie Kitten Peaks is the Mountain range right next to Golgotha.

Loincloth Pass (not sure when it got changed to Free Man's Run, but I like the original better) is the pass between two mountain ranges next to Freevale.

Goblin Squad Member

jericho616 has the first instance of Free Man's Run. No idea where that came from.

What about all the people in the NW, and SW? I could name the entire map myself but I thought it would be fun for everyone to name the stuff near their own section of the map; maybe get a little thrill if the name becomes a common-use thing (like when anyone says ACE, I invented that woo! yay me).

So put on your +4 thinking caps to get posting and see what sticks!

I was being silly and lined through Loincloth Pass in my quote above up above. Too subtle and not enough funny. /shrug Everyone in Freevale loves Loincloth Pass.

Some of us aren't really sufficiently comfortable in our ability to hold on as to go around naming features after ourselves.

But considering how many badlands there are on the plateau in the northwest, maybe the Kabalan Hoodoos

The big chunk of lowland plains probably deserves "The Bread Basket"
