Has anyone in this thread played Barakus before, like in another system? How long in RL should this mega-mod take? Now I'm reading it and doing the math (in a 4-5 hour session I can get through roughly 4-6 encounters that hover somewhere close to APL) and thinking it's going to take me years of monthly sessions to get to the endgame w/my players. Does this sound about right to anyone's experience (if there is any)?

Yup.
Mark, one of the biggest things to consider is, you will never be able to predict how your players will tackle the challenges. I have player's that go DIRECTLY to the BBEG almost every time. The other times they wander around like blind mice.
Just let it flow, enjoy it, and don't expect them to clear every area. Besides, that'll typically just kill them. Especially in RA.
Oh, and RA: Expansions is off ot the printer, so there's even more badness coming out.

@Mark:
It took my players about 4 months to waltz through Barakus, but they are VERY efficient and fast. You can probably assume half a year - 1 full year for this beast, depending on how much roleplay/sandboxing they do.
(And if they're not used to combing through big dungeons/seeking secret entrances MUCH more - the dungeon is somewhat brutal in that regard...)

I would like to take a moment to clarify an earlier post of mine. I expressed a certain amount of frustration with the Backerkit people for not communicating with FGG about whether my pledge got paid or not. I contacted Backerkit directly and explained the situation to them. After some checking to insure I was telling the truth they refunded the money they had taken from my account and my rent got paid.
I was unaware that Backerkit is a separate entity from FGG. The response of their customer service was good and they were quick to correct their mistake.
Furthermore, I was contacted by one of the Frogs to find out if the problem had been taken care of. As I have said before there are certain 3pp that I will highly recommend for their customer service. FGG is one of them. I am not one of their most recognized customers but they make me feel like I am. I know I am preaching to the choir, but I wanted to put it out so anyone can see it.
Just my 2 cp.

Not a FGG kickstarter (sort of) and unrelated to PF (sort of) but I'd figure I'd put it here.
So Frog God Games for Pathfinder/Swords and Wizardry
...and Necromancer games for 5E.
This could be their fix for an onerous Wotc GSL associated with D&D and companies that wanted to continue making products for games that use the OGL/D20 system.

Thedmstrikes |
I came across it right after it went live and was only the third backer because someone was already there and pledged while I was reading through the options. Pretty much if it has the Necromancer name tag, I want it. I am still on the fence about 5th ed. I suppose I should take a look to see if it will disappoint me as much as 4th ed did. In any case the new Kickstarter for Necromancer boasts a list of who's who in the gaming industry that is not currently working for WOTC. Do not take my word for it, check it out for yourself...

Btw. Maps still mot here, but non map barakus orders start shipping tomorrow!
Again (*does eTrade baby surprise face*) WHAAAAA???!!!!
A friend had told me "expect the Frogs to be exactly on time, maybe a week or 2 late with a kickstarter" when I mentioned backing Barakus. I'm blown away by the communication, speed and attention on this project. You guys take customer service seriously and I appreciate that as someone in that line of work. Thanks and I think you can look forward to me throwing more cash in your coffers.
That said I have a friend interested in 5e. I'm not, but he is so I'm pushing him hard to get your stuff. I really hope he does and I hope one day that FGG is as big as Paizo or WotC. Maybe not that big though; just as profitable though :)

I'm working up to getting to out-of-state con's. Right now the only one I can consistently make is Con of the North here in MN. It is a small event as these things go so I doubt I'll ever see them, but I dream of the day that FGG shows up at our humble little shindig. If somehow this dream were to ever come true I think you can guarantee at least one round on me and several tables worth of rabid fans elbowing for the chance to get their PCs killed by some of the best in the biz.
FYI I told my players I officially have and have started reading through Barakus and RA. I haven't gotten a response from them in over a week. Coincedence?

If that is the con at Minneapolis, I was there back in '92 shortly before moving south.

I gotta ask, how are the LCoB HeroLab files coming along for those of us who purchased the add-on?
The LCoB PF conversion is really a great product, btw. This is coming from someone who DM'd it in 3.5 as well as played through it once...a great conversion of a classic adventure/setting.

Curmudgeonly |

I was successfully able to order and download both Sinnar and Wilderness/Endhome. I did both purchases separately.
Question about the Sinnar map. The legend indicates a symbol for the Imperial Capital, however I can't seem to find that symbol on the map itself. Am I blind or is there not one?

Mark Hoover |

To quote a famous socialite: that's hot.
So if I'm going to run a Barakus/RA campaign, I could start the party in Endholme, have them run up the cost to Telar Brindel, then west to Eastgate, and finally from there to the Dungeon of Graves. I'm running PF; do the settlement sizes roughly correspond to those in the Gamemastery guide? Also is there a product from FGG that populates those in-between hexes or suggests population density or should I just wing it?

I don't see it either. There are other maps they have for the world, and my guess is that the same legend is used for each (i.e. the imperial capital appears on another campaign map not related to Barakus).

To those having issues with down loading the Sinnar Coast map. I too, had that problem last night when I got the coupon codes. On the screen showing the error, I simply re-applied my coupon code in the field a second time and that seemed to bypass the glitch. Might work for you guys, might not.
@Brvheart - I'm not in front of the comp where I dl'ed the map right now, but it appears this region lies directly south of the bottom edge of the Gulf of Akados map.

KaiserDM |

I just got an e-mail last night that my physical books with maps just went out USPS. So, the next wave of shipments are going out right now.
As an aside, thanks again Frogs!
The gulf of Akaidos map was a hand sketched (but very well-done) map that Chris linked in update #5 of the kick starter.
See if this link works:
If not, you know where to find it now. All hail the Kaiser.

Received an email saying my order was shipped. Just wish I knew what was in the order. I had received the Lost City of Barakus book earlier but during the KS I added the Players' Guide and both maps the B&W and the Color one. So those are the items I am expecting but have no idea if they are in the shipment.
