Antipaladin & Animate Undead

Rules Questions

So i'm making an Antipaladin and long story short i'm trying to find out if at 3rd level they gain access to the'Animate Dead' spell. Some sources say yes and others say no. Can I get some clarification?

d20pfsrd says they do.

According to the Advanced Player's Guide antipaladins do gain access to the 'Animate Dead' as a third level spell.

Liberty's Edge

You could look in the APG, on d20pfsrd.com, or on paizo.com/prd under the APG. . .

What sources are you consulting that say no?

I looked at the Pathfinder PRD spell list index, all books are marked and antipaladin is chosen. Didn't see it :/

I didn't see it. But I have a better option for you. Take the Command Undead feat. Then once you are able to channel energy you can control undead almost forever.

Assuming you fight undead and at a VERY small fraction of the HD you'd be able to command with Animate Dead, with none of the customization.

True, you can't control as many HD as the spell Animate Dead, but AD only lets you create skeletons and zombies. Where as the command undead feat lets you take control of any undead creature <= your HD. You can control mummies, ghosts, liches etc...

3rd-Level Antipaladin Spells

Animate DeadM: Creates undead skeletons and zombies.

Bestow Curse: –6 to an ability score; –4 on attack rolls, saves, and checks; or 50% chance of losing each action.

Antipaladin Table

So, at 10th level, with 16+ charisma, an Antipaladin could prepare Animate Dead.

Too much trouble. They get a new save every day.

This must be an oversight since the Anti-Paladin was published after the CRB. The APG is the authoritative source on the matter, as it is the one where the Anti-Paladin is published, and it says they get the spell.
