Lolth conversion help.

Conversions

So i got a copy of Bestiary 4 and though hey now is the time too cook up lolth and send her back to her demon lord roots. I did a fairly straight forward conversion, she has most of the lolthy powers she used to have backed up by being CR 27

so far

SLA caster level 27

Poison Webs (ex): web-contact; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Str damage; cure 3 consecutive saves. See rules for poison stacking as the character is poisoned with a dose of poison webs each round he is entangled.

Looking at her 1E write-up, her 4E write-up and taking a tip from the Nocticula write-up -

Aura of Invasive Poison - in place of frightful presence, give her an aura that suppresses poison resistance and immunity. Perhaps this should be a will save to resist.

Toxic Retribution - any creature that takes a hostile action against Lolth while under the effect of Aura of Invasive Poison loses the ability to roll saving throws against her poison for one round, and the poison cannot be cured by magical means during that round.

Poisoned Touch - any weapons wielded by Lolth are imbued with her poison at all times.

Spider Queen's Pawn - As a swift action, Lolth can compel a poisoned target to strike at an ally. Will save to resist, -1 to the penalty for every round spent poisoned? A successful strike spreads Lolth's poison to the target.

Lolth's Kiss - 1/round free action touch attack against an adjacent target. Poisons the target, but first forcing a reroll of the save against Aura of Invasive Poison if the target had previously passed.

Toxic Harvest - As a standard action, Lolth pulls her poison out every enemy within (30? 100? 1000?) feet. A fort save can resist. Victims can choose to forfeit the save. On a failure or forfeit, a victim suffered 20d6 damage as Lolth's poison tears out of their body, clearing out the poison but healing Lolth for the amount of damage dealt.

Spider Queen's Wrath - if reduced to 0 HP while in dark elf form, Lolth's facade of being a pretty dark elf lady violently tears apart, revealing a gargantuan+ black widow spider bloated on the souls of the fools who worship her, violently forcing back and harming anyone in the area, and healing Lolth up to at least half her HP.

While in spider form, she gains some ridiculous stat bumps. If forced into Spider Form by Spider Queen's Wrath, she gains the following ability as swift actions for ten minutes - (1) call in a maximized creeping doom (that's of course spiders, and inflicts HER poison instead of the regular creeping doom poison), (2) used intensified heal to recover 200 HP, or (3) spray the web you wrote out, with the upgrade that creatures in the area of the web are subjected to the poison every round, even if not actually ensnared in it.

Spider Queen's Grace - If reduced to 0 HP while in spider form, the corpulent spider detonates, leaving behind Lolth's fallback guise as a dark elf. If forced into her dark elf form by this ability, she gains for 10 minutes the ability to use any of her spell-like powers as a swift action. If she has technically exhausted her uses per day of an ability, she may instead continue to use the ability as a standard action.

Spider Queen's Grace cannot activate if Spider's Queen's Wrath has been triggered in the past 24 hours, and vice versa. Once defeated in both forms, Lolth actually dies.

Shapechange should be in the 3/day or 1/day if she has vermin-shape in the at-wills, I would think. I'd also add heal to her 3/day spell-like powers.

She should have alternate form, too.

In 1E while she was in dark elf form she had spellcasting as a cleric 16/wizard 14, but couldn't access the spells while in spider form. That would probably be worked in as her having spells as a L __ sorcerer, but able to choose spells from the cleric list (like top-end dragons do).

I may have overcomplicated that, but it was entertaining to write out.

oops i spaced out the heal 3/day og lolth had that already.

okedokey lolths modified Special abilities.

Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light blinds
Lolth for 1 round; on subsequent rounds, she is dazzled
as long as she remains in the affected.

Poison Use (Ex) Lolth is skilled in the use of poison and never
risk accidentally poisoning Herself.

Poison Webs (ex): web-contact; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Str damage; cure 3 consecutive saves. See rules for poison stacking as the character is poisoned with a dose of poison webs each round he is entangled.

Poison Bite (ex): Poison (Ex) Bite; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Con drain and staggered for 1d6 rounds.; cure 3 consecutive saves. Creatures slain by this venom can only be returned to life with a wish miracle or true resurection.

Spiderqueens Judgment (su): Any creature reduced to 0 strength by lolths poisonous web is subject to judgment of lolth as is any creature pinned by lolth. as a full round action Lolth may enact a terrible transformation the creature by reweaving their body, if the target is an elf is transformed into a drider. If another species they are transformed into a monsterous spider. in any case lolth gains controll of the creature. A remove curse spell cast within 24 hours of the transformation can undo the transformation. This can be resisted with a dc 36 fortitude save.

Alternatively if lolth favors the creature she may impart any one of the folowing templates. Anarchic, Feindish or Advanced creature.

Vamperic Venom (su): Lolth is healed 1 point of damage for each point of ability damage she causes with either her bite or her Poisoned webs.

I might actually use this if you ever make a comprehensive write-up; could be cool, had forgotten she was a demon lord and not a godess.

Your weapons are mine. Your bodied I leave to, Lolth, Demon Queen of Spiders.

Venger, The Hall of Bones.

well she is mostly done i just need to pick two more feats. Also debating weather or not to give Her cleric/Sorc spells seems like that may be to much overkill. i know there are some errors in this feat list.

Feats Just not sure what to give her.

Blind FIghting, Combat reflexes, dodge, Exotic weapon Profishency (scoprion whip), Expertise, Improved Critical (Bite) Mobility, Power Attack, Spring attack, Superior Expertise, Weapon faness bite, Weapon focus bite, Weapon focus (scorpion Whip), Whirlwind attack, 2 more

any suggestions would be welcome. Thinking about doing tiamat next.

If you do finish her stats please post them. I love that you are bringing her back to her roots.

Does she need spider climb? I would just give her a climb speed. Spiders don't have spider climb, they just climb. She's their demon lord, after all.

According to the 1st Edition module Vault of the Drow, Lolth in humanoid form is a 16th-level cleric/14th-level magic user (wizard), with all the commensurate abilities of both. That would include spells.

hmm good point on the climb. still debating on the caster levels though.

Dark Archive

Don't forget the 66 ht points. Count 'em.

Special:

Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light blinds Lolth for 1 round; on subsequent rounds, she is dazzled as long as she remains in the affected.

Advanced Poison Use (Ex) Lolth is skilled in the use of poison and never risk accidentally poisoning Herself, she may apply poison she is holding as a free action.

Poison Webs (ex): web-contact; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 Str damage; cure 3 consecutive saves. See rules for poison stacking as the character is poisoned with a dose of poison webs each round he is entangled.

If another species they are transformed into a monstrous spider. in any case lolth gains control of the creature. A remove curse spell cast within 24 hours of the transformation can undo the transformation. This can be resisted with a dc 36 fortitude save.

Alternatively if loth favors the creature she may impart any one of the flowing templates. Anarchic, Fiendish or Advanced creature.

Vamperic Venom (su): Any time a creature within 500 ft of lolth takes ability damage from poison lolth is healed of one point of damage for each point of damage caused. points in excess of her maximum manifest as temporary hit-points that vanish after 1 hour.

Monstrous Spider form (Su): As a swift action Lolth can take on the form of a monstrous spider (Usually a giant black widow) similarly to a vermin shape II spell. While in this for she also gains the benefits of a transformation spell. Lolth may end this as a swift action.

Command arachnid Creatures (Su) lolth can command arachnid creatures to do his bidding as a move action, either via using his ability to speak with animals or via telepathy. This affects all aberrations, animals, magical beasts, Monstrous humanoids, and vermin within 300 feet that are arachnid in their natural form (Dm discretion) (Will DC 36 negates). This functions like mass suggestion, but can affect mindless creatures. lolth can suggest obviously harmful or suicidal acts (though non-mindless creatures gain a +10 bonus on their saving throws against these suggestions). The commanded course of activity can have a duration of up to 1 hour. If lolth issues a new command to a creature, the previous command is discarded. Once a creature succeeds at its save against this effect, it is immune to further commands from lolth for 24 hours. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Older versions of lolth had the ability to cast arcane and Divine spells. i thought that was a bit of Overkill but i present it here as a side note for those that want her to be more true to classic lolth.

Lolth casts spells as a 20th level sorcerer (Dc 21 + spell level) and as a 20th level Cleric (Dc 25 + spell level) with access to the Chaos destruction evil and trickery domains. You may want to re-tweak her feats a bit if you want a more casterific friendly lolth.

Sovereign Court

It's fine to cast divine and arcane spells, many high level mythic archmages do that in Golarion setting. The Old Mage Jatembe (CR 26, archmage 6) and Baba Yaga (CR 30, archmage 10) both can cast divine and arcane spells, well divine spells converted to arcane spells. Maybe you should mention that she can do that in her own realm? They do mention that demon lords have full access to their mythic powers in their demon realms. When they fight somewhere else, they are a bit weaker but still challenging.

Noticed that you didn't give her regeneration like the other demon lords, any particular reason?

I'd up the healing from vampiric venom - should be at least 5 points per point of ability damage. Honestly, at those levels it could even be 10, 20 or 30 points per point of ability damage - without a way to suppress poison immunities, she's reliant on people showing up the Demon Queen of Spiders being too dumb to prep Delay Poison for any of her poison-related abilities to work.

I'd also fudge the HP math to give her 666 HP =P

Oops i geuss i forgot the regeneration should be 30 (Mythic or Dieific)

ALso i forgot to * the spells she can cast as mythic.

Constant-detect good, detect law, detect magic freedom of movement, Read Magic speak with animals (Spiders only), true seeing, unholy aura (DC 28)

I didnt add casting levels because i hate constructing spell lists and also i thought it may have been a hair to much for cr 27 ontop of her already numerous SLA and special abilities. If someone would like to come up with her Sorc spell list for me i would happily add it (and probably bump her cr up 1)

also please not i donot have the mythic book so im not sure if i made good choices for her Mythic spells.

If you absolutely need stats; the good thing about converting gods is they are not really required. Very few players actually battle gods, and if they do they shouldn’t be winning. Like in my games the players have the choice of worshipping the Old gods (3.5) or the new gods but the world acknowledges both. Yes I understand the world is huge but even then, not the entire world or even not every city in the same states may share the same fate.

I think, since in his previous incarnation was a goddess of destiny, you may think to give her such abilities

Fated (Su) Lolth adds her Charisma modifier as an insight bonus to AC and on initiative checks.

Destiny Thread (Su) As a standard action, while in her realms, up to three times per day but no more often than once every 1d4 rounds, Lolth may produce a golden silk thread linked to a creature's fate and then attempt to break it. The target creature must be in her line of sight, through magical sensor or in person. The target immediately takes 20d6 points of damage (Fortitude DC x for half). If the target dies from this damage, lolth has cut through the thread—in this case, the target may only be restored to life via miracle, wish, or divine intervention. This is a death effect. The Save DC is Charisma-based.

Also, she may force those of elf blood a - 4 penality to this

And someone failed to read even so much as the first sentence of the first post. . . Beyond that, do you really think "You shouldn't do X" in a thread about how to do X is good advice? I mean seriously? Who are you to tell the OP what he does and does not need?

That unpleasantness aside, I also love that you've taken her back to her roots. Well done.

If any HeroLab users stat up Lolth using some of the GREAT suggestions in this thread, please let us know because I'd love to have you email me a copy of the .por file for a ToEE (T1-4), Against the Giants, Descent into the Depths of the Earth, Vault of the Drow and Queen of the Demonweb Pits PF conversion that I've been contemplating, using the Mythic rules for certain uber encounters like Lolth.... since I run games using D20Pro and HL, it all comes down to getting as many of the HL files for the unique and named encounters as I can.

...and if anyone knows of an existing collection of HL files for the modules I mentioned, that would be uber also.

....apologies in advance for that minor thread derailment only tangentially related to a Lolth PF conversion.

Sweet thread. Isn't she also supposed to be 7 Gargantuan spiders and 1 hot Drow? As I recall the story, she was looking for a replacement body and ended up picking between a Drow heretic, a high priestess, and a very attractive lesser priestess, and picked the very attractive one.

I really like the thematic behind Spider Queen's Pawn. I wish they had stated up Asmodeus and given him something similar (Tyrant's mind--can dominate one person being effected by a fear spell).

this lolth is a demonlord like she was in Queen of the demonweb pits and the Old monster manual. If you want to god-ize her than by all means her domains are listed, Maybe i missed it but i dont recall lolth being a godess of fate.

She was in the forgotten realms books. Then she became bad and Corellon kirk her in the abyss.

If you read that in the negative light then I will apologize if came off that way. I wish just trying to say stating out gods isn’t required. Under no circumstances should a mortal ever be able to defat a god (yes I’ve read the novels and I am aware Selvetarm fell due to the crescent blade). Yes the OP wanted to stat her and that is fine, but saying stats aren’t required I was implying that if it isn’t “perfect” don’t beat yourself up.

I know, But Original Lolth was just a demonlord and whats what i wanted my conversion to reflect.

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Lolth

Per the Forgotten Realms WIKI (to save you from clicking the link):

“Lolth was formerly Araushnee, elven goddess of destiny, artisans and dark elves. She was the lover of Corellon and had him completely smitten by her grace and beauty but she grew power-hungry and a sense of never-before seen greed and cruelty entered into her mind. She began by aiding Corellon's enemies. In a fight with his nemesis Gruumsh, Araushnee aided the orc god and Corellon had to flee.[citation needed] She then sent her new ally Malar to hunt her weakened lover but through sheer skill of arms Corellon, with the help of Sehanine Moonbow, managed to defeat the Beastlord

Corellon still had no idea that his beautiful consort was behind the attacks but Sehanine Moonbow had found out the truth after discovering that Araushnee had started an affair with Fenmarel Mestarine in an effort to make him aid her in an upcoming rebellion. Although at first entranced by her advances he eventually spurned her. Sehanine confronted Araushnee and was imprisoned as a result.[citation needed] With her subtle plans failed, she instead organized an attack on the entire Seldarine with her "Anti-Seldarine" consisting of Vhaeraun, Malar, Ghaunadaur, Gruumsh, Auril, and a host of other gods of goblinoids, orcs, giants, and kobolds, as well as Eilistraee, who was only an unwitting participant in her schemes. Sehanine escaped from her imprisonment and warned Corellon of the impending attack. Despite their force of numbers, the anti-Seldarine were defeated. While her allies fled, Araushnee directly confronted her former lover but then Sehanine, Hanali Celanil and Aerdrie Faenya came to the rescue, merging their powers together to become a single deity, Angharradh. Araushnee was defeated and cast into the Abyss along with both of her children (despite the fact that Corellon knew Eilistraee had been tricked). Araushnee's banishment also involved Corellon turning her into a bloated spider demon so that he could not be persuaded to reconsider his decision due to her beauty.

Araushnee took the name Lolth and turned the 66th layer (the Demonweb Pits) of the Abyss into her new home. Without another home Vhaeraun, Eilistraee and Ghaunadaur took up small residences there, though Vhaeraun and Eilistraee rarely visited them, preferring to wander in the Plane of Shadow and Arvandor respectively. Ghaunadaur took the opportunity of living in the same realm as Lolth to announce his love for her but Lolth prized physical beauty, an attribute Ghaunadaur did not have and rejected his advances. The Drow demi-power Kiaransalee created a tower of bones in the realm and was thusly subjugated by Lolth's will into becoming her reluctant vassal. Also, Lolth learned of the demon prince Zanassu who claimed divine dominion over spiders. Considering her new body, she thought it was her sole right to own such a portfolio and angrily tricked Selvetarm into attacking the demon prince, killing him. She gained a divine portfolio and a new consort. She used her regained divinity to turn the 66th layer into the Demonweb Pits, morphing it into a giant funnel-shaped web to fit her spidery appearance.”

From how I’ve understood this/her history is she was never a true demon lord but always a elven goddess banished to the abyss as punishment and transformed into a demon physically (though still a goddess with her power greatly reduced). Once she found out how to restore more of her divinity that is when she ascended to a greater goddess. I only bring this up for discussion, not to troll or be “that in your face” guy. To me it influences creativity as a GM to discuss, dispute things as long as done civilly.

For the record not telling you how to do it as your idea is cool (Huge Drow fan and the RA Novels is what got me into D&D, used to only play palladium games.)

If lolth is going to have 600+ hp, you may as well make it 666 to echo the old 66 hp. You're only 26 off from it after all. Just a thought.

I agree, make her 36HD with a constitution of 36, which gives her an average of 666.

I'd probably give her 8 clones with 66 hitpoints each though, just to screw with my players.

In original queen of the demonweb pits she is a 16th level cleric and a 14th level mage. and she had psionic powers. every version of her has cleric and mage powers so while i think for my conversion they are a bit much without bumping her cr to much she is very much arcane in nature In my opinion.

Special:

Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light blinds Lolth for 1 round; on subsequent rounds, she is dazzled as long as she remains in the affected.

Advanced Poison Use (Ex) Lolth is skilled in the use of poison and never risk accidentally poisoning Herself, she may apply poison she is holding, Such as the poison in her saliva, as a free action.

Poison Webs (ex): web-contact; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 9 rounds; effect 1d4 Str damage; cure 3 consecutive saves. See rules for poison stacking as the character is poisoned with a dose of poison webs each round he is entangled.

Poison Saliva (ex): Contact; save Fort DC 40; frequency 1/round for 9 rounds; effect 1d4 Con drain and staggered for 1d6 rounds.; cure 3 consecutive saves. Creatures slain by this venom can only be returned to life with a wish miracle or true resurrection.

Spiderqueens Judgment (su): Any creature reduced to 0 strength by Lolths poisonous web is subject to judgment of Lolth as is any creature pinned by Lolth. as a full round action Lolth may enact a terrible transformation the creature by reweaving their body, if the target is an elf it is transformed into a drider. If another species they are transformed into a monstrous spider. in any case Lolth gains control of the creature. A remove curse spell cast within 24 hours of the transformation can undo the transformation. This can be resisted with a dc 36 fortitude save.

Alternatively if Lolth favors the creature she may impart any one of the flowing templates. Anarchic, fiendish or advanced creature.

Vamperic Venom (su): Lolth is healed 1 point of damage for each point of ability damage she causes with either her bite,Poisoned webs or spells.

Monsterous Spider form (Su): As a swift action Lolth can take on the form of a monsterous spider (Usualy a giant black widow) similarly to a vermin shape II spell. While in this for she also gains the benefits of a transformatin spell these bonuses stack with eachother and with Lolths natural abilities. If Lolth chooses she may take a drider like form so she may use her weapons the bonuses in this form are the same as her monsterous spider form but lacking the bite attack. Lolth may end this as a swift action.

Command arachnid Creatures (Su) Lolth can command arachnid creatures to do her bidding as a move action, either via using his ability to speak with animals or via telepathy.

Worshipers Of lolth have acess to the Chaos destruction evil trickery and destruction domains.

Equipment.

+5 adamantine ghost touch unholy chaotic dagger

+5 unholy, wounding, vishous Scorpion whip.

Golarion has a decent Lolth (Lloth) stand in with Mazmess, Demon Queen of Vermin and Bindings.

But, usually, I think of it the other way.

Instead of using Mazmezz for Lolth, I use the name Lolth for Mazmess.

also please not i donot have the mythic book so im not sure if i made good choices for her Mythic spells.

Since this is up again - you don't actually need to "Pick" her mythic spells.

She can use ANY spell-like ability she has as a mythic spell as long as she's in her abyssal realm and she's got mythic power left.

Basically, if you have the write up for a mythic spell, then she's got it.

Her actual sorcerer/cleric spells another matter - I don't think she gets mythic versions of any of those.

I might actually use this if you ever make a comprehensive write-up; could be cool, had forgotten she was a demon lord and not a godess.

She was originally listed in Fiend Folio as a demi-god... A demi-god with 66 hit points for creep's sake!

Most demigod type stuff is turning out to be cr 25-30 mythic monsters. Great old ones. Demonlords and the such.

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Lolth

Per the Forgotten Realms WIKI (to save you from clicking the link):

“Lolth was formerly Araushnee, elven goddess of destiny, artisans and dark elves. She was the lover of Corellon and had him completely smitten by her grace and beauty but she grew power-hungry and a sense of never-before seen greed and cruelty entered into her mind. She began by aiding Corellon's enemies. In a fight with his nemesis Gruumsh, Araushnee aided the orc god and Corellon had to flee.[citation needed] She then sent her new ally Malar to hunt her weakened lover but through sheer skill of arms Corellon, with the help of Sehanine Moonbow, managed to defeat the Beastlord...

While that is entirely correct for 2e and later in the Forgotten Realms, Lolth originally appeared in the 1e Fiend Folio and GDQ 1-7 module series set in Greyhawk/Oerth (and culminating in the Abyss). Her 1e incarnation was as a demon lord ("demon queen of spiders"), and it is that version that Clff Rice is converting here. The original Manual of the Planes (1e, from 1987) still lists her as a demon leader, although like all such top demons, she had divine-like powers on her own layer of the Abyss.

This is not a god, this is a demon lord that plenty of people want to throw in their games as end game encounters. Feels like most people who play pathfinder have never played a full length homebrew. It just takes a good DM to make epic level fun.

She also has outsider immortality. If she dies anywhere, she gradually reforms in her home plane of the abyss. Then she cannot be summoned or gated in for at least 100 years.

Thats just something demonlords in previous editions can do. Doesn't seem to be a thing in pathfinder, You can just magic wand it in there if you want, I know i will in my game however im leaving it out to make it more in line with the other demonlords.
