How can a new player get in this on PFS online play. I am more than a little lost.

Hey, John:

Welcome to PFS Online.

This should get you started:

http://pathfindersocietyonline.com/gettingstarted/firststeps/

http://pathfindersocietyonline.com/gettingstarted/online-player/

(The full site is still under construction, but these two portions are complete)

You can also check out our personal group's players guide that can add a little bit to that:

IronHelixx Player's Guide

After reading that - drop back by and ask any questions you have - and then we will help you jump into a game.

What's important to let us know, apart from any questions you've got, is:

  • Your timezone
  • Your experience with Pathfinder or Pathfinder Society (or D&D)
  • How you're going with creating a character, or if you already have a character (or several characters), what levels they are. PFS characters always start at level 1.

Hi, I have been curious about joining online play for a while now and rather then making a new thread about it I thought I post here.

I would mostly be interested in playing through Play by Post as I'm not certain I could take enough time out of the day to do virtual tabletops or something like that.

As per what Avatar-1 asked to let people know here is my info :
- I'm from Belgium, so that would be the CET timezone (or UTC/GMT+1)
- I've got quite some experience playing Pathfinder and other roleplaying systems. I've also played some live Society sessions already and am planning to continue doing that. I am aware that any character I would use in a PbP cannot be used in other Society sessions until the PbP scenario is finished. But seeing as we are currently doing only 1 session per month and I have many more character I want to play with I want to also be busy with online play.
- All my characters are lvl 1. One of them is 1 xp away from lvl 2 and another has 1 xp, the rest are at 0 xp.

If you need more info, just let me know.

You sound fine to go if you don't have any questions. Go ahead and sign up.

There's games in this forum - just put your name down. There's also a link to a chat room on the front page of pfrpg.com.au where some games are held.

Good time to start, Sir - we are just about to start a PbP "Game-Day" (which is actually over a couple of months) in early January.

We will post the details for the event here very soon:

Here is a guide some of the PbP guys put together to help people get started:

If you like, email the PFS Online Venture Officers at PFSOnlineVOs@GMail.com and we will get you in touch with some of the PbP organizers.

Looking forward to seeing you at a Virtual Table sometime.

Have a great one and welcome to online play.

As one who just started PbP, this is good/dangerous news.

I'm a old pro with DND and have some with of but not pfs. No PCs created for pts yet

Sorry bout the slow posting. I was on my phone and my computer was in the shop. But its back now.

So to answer the questions I have been Asked.

I am eastern Time Zone in Florida USA
I have been playing Pathfinder for about a year and a half mostly on Roll20 and with no stable GM.

I have years of experience with other systems including
D&D 2e/3e/3.5e
SW 3e
D20 Modern
Homebrew based on other systems like GURPS

I have not made a PC for PFS yet, But I am thinking something From Korvosa would be nice to play.

I am thinking a human Wizard (+2 str) wit stats of 15-12-13-16-10-12. Many make em a necromancer or a conjurer.
