The Eben Glade

Grand Lodge

Sovereign Court

A suggestion or invitation depending on your nature.

As a few of us either by wayward wanderings from Kyonin or errant forlorn congregate within the city of Absolom, it occurs to me an elven enclave seems natural within the society. Although its not present now, perhaps in time (in 10, 100, or 1000 years) it would be possible. So we begin today.

We the long lived few, strong in magic, slow to anger, swift to vengeance, and never deliberate in our ways. I would offer you respite within the walls of the Eben Glade. The glade is a townhouse purchased in Westerhold, and from my map I would place it at the farthest northwest corner of the city. Even well into the trees would be my preference.

The Enclave's purpose
To lend aid, solace, and advice for visiting elves in Absolom.
To secure the release of those elves landing in Misery Row.
To venerate the elven panthenon.
To destroy demonic influences in Kyonin and beyond.

The Membership
Any Elven pathfinder may join (or merely visit the glade).
There is no charge, but donations (in coin, goods, or food) are appreciated.
Senior members are recommended (but not required) to purchase a townhouse near the Enclave to grow its environs.
Operating funds to be mainly through the trade of elven goods from Kyonin to Absolom. Or in the manufacture of such goods in the Glade.

Duties of membership
Honor and respect the Decemverite.
Fulfill your mission.
Guide your fellows to a path of good intent.
Destroy the forces of evil (especially Demons) without remorse.
Liberate Elven hostages whenever possible, but if not then report their location for later retrieval.
Survive - the dead have no place in our halls.
Take the long course - we shall endure.

What if we just disguise ourselves as elves? Can we hang out then?

Grand Lodge

Perhaps we could begin discussions now, I agree.

However, there is a task I would very much like to accomplish, now that I know that it is possible. The Tapestry can connect points in Golarion, for greatly eased travel. Is there someone who knows how to connect to Iadara? I think the ability for pathfinder-elves to return home might be a way to study demons for the war at the worldwound, and also might be a focal point to bring aid against TreeRazor and his ilk.

Elven wannabees may also attend as long as you wear hats of disguise instead of fake ears.

Linking back to Kyonin would be a boon. Yet I think the method would be far easier via greater teleport. Perhaps future adventures may discover ancient gates home.

A most noble endeavor, I concur. It would be nice to have respite in a locale more reminiscent of home within this city.

Though I would add one caveat to the duties of membership:
Honor and respect to the Decemvirate and leave your politics at the woods' edge.

While a hearty debate between factions can be heartening, I feel such an enclave would be best served as a faction neutral location.

Dariel - find me a pathfinder who leaves politics anywhere and I'll cannonize him on the spot. Ha Ha Ha, maybe with a real cannon. We'll call him saint everywhere, because we can no longer find the remains.

Honestly, I'd prefer to agree with you. Elven tastes for factions vary, and I'm not really interested in the politics. My choice of Taldor was more to fashion than function.

Although from a certain perspective, in a hundred years will any of these houses survive? So classically my own view is who cares, its just the suit of the day....or of the minute....or of the round (if you have a hat of disguise). Pray do any of the elven persuasion disagree with this concept?

My purpose here is threefold, one its an interesting idea. Two its something to talk about. Three, maybe it goes somewhere. If not, its just another little peculiar thing about me.

On a final note, I think a link to Kyonin would be a bad idea. First I'm sure the Queen would object. Second, I'm sure the Council in Absolom would object. Literally for the same reason, distance makes the heart grow fonder....and limits the ability of rampaging armies to show up unfashionably early. We do love those armies who show up ontime....or late...or never. So Greater Teleport (if you have it) is a likely method of transportation....(and convenient portable holes can move goods where you want them.)

Point made, Righty, point made. These factions will most likely fade in time. While the politics and debates amongst the various factions do not hold my interest, those which are actively mobilizing against the recent threat have earned my respect. Taldor's efforts in marshaling forces to send to fight against common foe in particular caught my attention.

As to Greater Teleport, give me time and I will be able to accommodate.

My interest is in the concept. Any additions or deletions? I would expect elven enclaves to grow in this manner, slowly adding in size by individual expansion. I have read the elven resource book, but noticed little is mentioned in Absolom.

Sczarni

(addition to the Eben Glade - The Shadow Maples)

As I am retiring after one last favor for Guaril, I will add a Country Estate in Westgate adjoining this property. Within the environs will be planted a large grove of maple trees. From which can be obtained sufficient wood, sugar, and a small shop for the creation of my favorite weapon Aldori Swords. Save the forge, there will be no buildings on the property - instead a series of tree homes and bridges will link the central maples in true Elvish form. As my Szarni friends are likely to stop by and trade, a small wagon caravan may be appearing from time to time in the grove nearby the forge.
