Hey everyone!

So we are soon about to kickoff our first gameday for PbP, but that doesn't cover the extent of all Online Play. The Online VOs are happy to announce the first Online VTT Gameday!

Right now, we are putting out the call for GMs only right now. If you wish to GM, please sign-up here!

Please stay tuned to this thread for updates on when we will release registration to the Warhorn.

How many games can I GM?

You can either 2 scenarios, 1 module, or 1 Sanctioned AP.

Will there be product / boon / prize support?

If we meet the minimum number of tables (which I do not see why we would not), then we will have all of the above.

What are the time slots for this gameday?

All games are listed in EST. They are as follows:

  • 01:00 AM EST
  • 06:00 AM EST
  • 11:00 AM EST
  • 04:00 PM EST
  • 09:00 PM EST

By having more than 2 slots, hopefully these times will be conducive to folks from all over the world.

I do not like open seating. Can I pre-muster my table?

Yes, you may pre-muster your table (there is an option to in the form). After you submit your GM information, you will need to submit the Warhorn usernames of all your players at the e-mail at the end of this post.

Till when can GMs sign-up?

GM sign-ups will close either:

  • When we hit 60 sessions to GM
  • End of day 10/15/2013

We want to make sure we can fill tables. If we hit 60 sessions quickly and they all fill up, we will re-open GM sign-ups. Please stay tuned to this thread for updates regarding GM registration.

Where can I get in contact about more specific questions?

Send the Online VO team an e-mail at PFSOnlineVOs AT gmail DOT com.

I wish Paizo Gamespace was open to us for this event! I would love to see how it plays! Anyway, I am sure I will have my hands full on the PbP gameday! This is so awesome!

Well I know that my greatest wish for paizo gamespace is that it will auto-import maps from any adventure path, scenario, or module on our account, and if it does do that it would make PFS so much easier on it.

I look forward to possibly signing up as a player for this, but I don't see myself GMing for both VTT day and PBP day.

Unless...

If we sign up to run a sanctioned AP, would we get the AP if we don't already have it? I ask simply because in the PBP gameday thread you mentioned only giving modules and scenarios.

Grand Lodge 1/5

If not auto-import, at least have an option to access them based on our Downloads page... :)

2/5

Sorry for the probably stupid question, and I’ll repeat what Dylos ask, but do we need to buy the scenario or module we want to GM?

Also, is there any preference on scenario to GM? Should we try to coordinate with other GM to offer the same scenario or different ones?

The Exchange 4/5

No, you do not need to buy it. If we hit the min number of tables, we will get support for GMs.

Shadow Lodge 3/5

For the rest of the world, I think those EST times convert to UTC/GMT like this:

  • 06:00 AM UTC 10/15/2013
  • 11:00 AM UTC 10/15/2013
  • 04:00 PM UTC 10/15/2013
  • 09:00 PM UTC 10/15/2013
  • 02:00 AM UTC 10/16/2013

Shadow Lodge 3/5

If you're in eastern Australia, the times for EST/UTC+10 are:

  • 04:00 PM 15/10/2013
  • 09:00 PM 15/10/2013
  • 02:00 AM 16/11/2013
  • 07:00 AM 16/11/2013
  • 12:00 PM 16/11/2013

Daylight Savings in Australia occurs on 6/10/2013, so these times shift an hour ahead for NSW, VIC, ACT and TAS (EDT is UTC+11).

Shadow Lodge 3/5

Oops. The times are game timeslots, the dates are based on the GM signup.

Well at least you can still tell which slot occurs on day 1 and day 2.

1/5

When will these games be available for player signup?

So, what sorts boons and prize support is normally given for such events at conventions? I've had no luck getting to any conventions that have a big PFS event.

This looks exciting! Can I register with the same character that I already have in the PbP Game Day? Curious how that would work, since I could potentially play in enough games to level up a character several times over the duration of the PbP.

Grand Lodge 4/5

If you have a character in a PbP you can't use them in anything else until the PbP is over.

Scarab Sages 5/5

As per the Guide to Pathfinder Society, you cannot have the same character in more than one game.

Thanks for the quick info. I think, since I'm brand new to PFS, I'll hold out for VTT day instead of tying up my first character in a PbP and juggling multiple characters right out of the gate. I'd like to get a feel for play before I start spreading myself too thin.

The Exchange 4/5

When will games be available for player sign-ups?

We will be working on getting games populated by the end of the week. From there, we will populate more games as we get more GMs to sign-up.

The Exchange 4/5

Games are now available for sign-ups! Please go here!

We currently have 23 games on the books, so we are looking for a lot more GMs. If you sign up to GM, you will be given the PDF of what you want to run added to your Paizo.com downloads.

Send me an e-mail about it and we can change it to whatever you want.

Great to see online play supported in this way!

Registered, signed up, and ready to roll some dice. Awesome!

Dark Archive 4/5

Can you confirm this is definitely EST and not EDT?

There is contradiction on posts on the facebook PFS page.

Hey Joseph, EST doesn't start until November 3rd, so these games should be EDT [GMT -4].

2/5

Of course, the first PbP PFS event would have to be the same weekend as SNAFUcon in Reno. I would love to play in this, but am already GMing 4 tables at the aforementioned Con. Have fun Folks.

So there I was, all ready to GM two slots, signed up and then my friends reminded me I was a twerp and I am playing F2F that day.

I have prepped the maps for Roll20 for The Sarkorian prophecy and The Gods market gamble. these are tokenless but are ready to be pulled into Roll20.

If you decide to run these and need the maps, contact me

Thanks

Is there a way to discuss with other player what subtier to aim for?

I usually like to have my character in the subtier and I am usually flexible with the character used. In one game a player didn’t want to play as we ended up playing 4~5 and he planned to play a 1st level one. I prefer to determine in advance what I’ll play to avoid this issue; but I’d still like to see what the other players want to do.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Beyond hoping that when people sign up they put in their planned class and level instead of leaving it blank, I don't think there's an easy way to contact people on Warhorn.

The Exchange 4/5

Warhorn is developing functionality for a GM to message his players, but that is not in place yet. The week of the gameday, I will send GMs contact information for their players.

3/5

I´ll be doing one. Can only apply on sunday though, want to do it from home. Pretty sure season 5 scenario though. Roll20.net.

4/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Alaska

Signed up to play and then run back to back. I sure hope I can power through comfortably and not end up going over...

Grand Lodge 4/5

Hey folks. I had previously signed up to run The Green Market at 9 PM EDT for the game day. Unfortunately, some things have come up and I will be unable to run a game during that time slot. So I am here to ask:
Is anyone willing to take my place and run The Green Market during the 9PM EDT slot?

Sovereign Court 5/5

Manz, I only know GMT and I'm confused with all the various different time zones jargon here.

Could Someone please direct me to a somewhere with a translation or something. Don't want to sign up by mistake a night game when it's really morning.

Grand Lodge 4/5

EDT, which is what's being used for the times, is GMT-4.

No bites on my 426 Waking Rune (11am to 4pm) so I took 208 Sarkorian Prophecy (11am to 4pm) which had 5 of 6 sign-ups in place.

If you have trouble getting maps into roll20.net or something like that. I just thought i'd post what I found too work. I use Snipping Tool that came with my Win Vista to cut the picture outta the PDF. Then I paste it right into roll20 or Gimp if I need to blend something or put grids on it.

Just thought I'd share.

Hey, Everybody:

Lots of games, and still some slots open for players:

https://warhorn.net/events/pfs-vtt-online-gameday-1/schedule/2013/10/26

A second session of the Sanctioned Module "Feast of Ravenmoor" has been added, as well as the scenarios "We be Goblins!", and many more.

The Sanctioned AP "Skull and Shackles" is also still open if anyone is interested in getting their Pirate Groove on. ;b

Go take a peek and signup for catches your fancy. :)

Hey I don't want to be that guy, but I was really hoping to get my module prep done this weekend rather than rushing it through the week, as far as making the maps and tokens and populating NPCs. Any chance the .pdfs will go out before the end of the day today?

The Exchange 4/5

It will be the beginning of the week when they go out.

2/5

Is there a way to contact our players? Most of us will need to send VTT/audio links to them.
I thought of creating a thread on the forum but I have no idea if they can see it.

Concerning reporting, do we need to do it ourselves or do we use an event code?

The Exchange 4/5

When will I get contact information?

I will be sending that out tomorrow evening.

How do I report the information?

Either tomorrow or Thursday evening I will send out a reporting form. You will fill in your information there, and the Online VOs will enter in the information for you.

What event code are we using?

32689

The Exchange 4/5

GMs should have received contact information from their players. I will send out the reporting form, as well as the holiday boon for all players and GMs.

Looking forward to a success first VTT Gameday!

4/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Alaska

Technical issues aside, things went really well! I wonder how much of a nightmare it would be to try and organize "regular" online gamedays similar to a weekly or biweekly local game store night. I would definitely be interested in volunteering as a GM for that.

VTT Gameday Re-cap

Hey everyone,

I want to personally thank everyone who showed up to enjoy in this gameday. It was a rousing success! We had 31 different sessions (with 4 of those being multi-session events) over 5 different time slots. We had gamers from all over the world, and we even had a table run in French.

A huge thank you to the GMs for running the games Without all of you, this gameday could not be as successful as it was. And thank you to the event staff who helped ensure the gameday ran as smooth as possible. It really was great to see the community come together that way.

I know everyone is interested in the boons and prizes. In the coming days, I will post a list of folks who won and the boons & prizes they can choose from here in this thread. I will individually message each person to gather this information, and then start e-mailing out the boons.

Also, by Wednesday, all GMs will receive their GM boon. Be on the lookout for an e-mail from me regarding information for that.

Once again, thank you everyone for making this gameday a success. We look forward to seeing you at digital tables for the upcoming AetherCon and a soon-to-be announced gameday in December. Thanks everyone!
